That guideline is very useful for people who are in situations for which they can't find instructions. It's great for new users. It's also useful when there are no instructions, or for users in situations that are new to them. However, in my opinion, it's not intended to encourage people to do things which they know are opposed by other editors; or which they know are likely to be opposed; or which they can be reasonably expected to predict are likely to be opposed. ☺ ] (]) 21:31, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Editing Chiropractic

As per Talk:Chiropractic#Topic_ban, I've decided to heed the advice of the other editors of the chiropractic page and give you some clear and specific guidelines on how to proceed, rather than immediately imposing editing restrictions. I'm basing these guidelines mostly on Eubulides' comments, since he knows the situation in this article much better than I do.

 1. When considering a possibly-controversial edit to the article, discuss the edit on the talk page first, attempt to gain consensus there, and do not install the edit if the consensus is against it.
 2. When proposing such an edit, give other editors at least a day to comment.
 3. If you're not completely sure whether an edit might be controversial, assume that it will be controversial.

The editors on chiropractic seem willing to go the extra mile and work constructively with you, please don't disappoint them. If I have to revisit this issue and find you have not followed the points above, I will implement a lengthy and broad topic ban. Tim Vickers (talk) 17:18, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Does this rule apply to select editors or all editors at chiropractic. Is it appropriate to have different rules for different editors. QuackGuru 22:18, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
See this page for an outline on what is involved. A list of people under editing restrictions, or who have been warned that they may be put under editing restrictions in the future is here. Tim Vickers (talk) 23:18, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Unnecessary comma

A recently added comma seems unnecessary. QuackGuru 22:18, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Interpretation of "be bold"

In a recent edit summary, you mentioned the guideline "be bold" I would like to point out that that guideline also says "...but be careful." That guideline is very useful for people who are in situations for which they can't find instructions. ☺ Coppertwig (talk) 21:31, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
