- If you have copied text to which you own the copyright: Please read the guide to donating your own copyrighted material to Misplaced Pages. Note that, in addition to copyright requirements, the article must still comply with notability guidelines, advertising prohibition and avoid conflicts of interest.
- If you have been given permission to reuse someone else's text: Please read the guide to requesting and formalizing permission to use copyrighted works on Misplaced Pages. As above, the article must still comply with notability guidelines, advertising prohibition and avoid conflicts of interest.
- If you were attempting to rename an article or create a disambiguation page: Compliance with the GFDL requires that the article be actually moved rather than copied with cut-and-paste to preserve editing history. Please tag the new copy with
{{db-move}}
and an administrator will be able to assist you.
- If the original source was itself a copy of Misplaced Pages text: Reusing the text is probably okay, but make sure you link back to the original article to comply with the GFDL. If the site CSBot found is a Misplaced Pages mirror, you may want to notify the bot maintainer so he can add it to the list for the future.
- If the original source is in the public domain: Reusing the text is okay, but you almost certainly want to attribute it with an appropriate template (such as
{{DANFS}}
or{{1911}}
); this will cause CSBot to leave the article alone.- If you did attribute it with an appropriate template, but it was still flagged as a copyvio, then it's probable the bot does not know the template you have used. You might want to tell the bot maintainer so he can add it to the list.
Otherwise, remember that text found on other web pages is copyrighted by default. Unless there is an explicit permission on the page (or site) allowing reuse without conditions (or under the GFDL) you can not use that text in a Misplaced Pages article!
Thank you!

Most of the information is common knowledge about the school, and it's all part of the public record in the form of permits, etc.

Can Pages be Added?
Hi! I'm working with the Articles for Creation project and had a question. Can CorenSearchBot also patrol pages listed in Category:Pending Afc requests? It's not as active as Special:NewPages, but sees a fair amount of action. Thanks in advance! TN‑X-Man 20:04, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
RAFVR (T)
Your bot advised (just over a year ago): "This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of RAFVR (T), and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://aircadetcentral.net/index.php?title=RAFVR(T)....if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 21:13, 29 November 2007 (UTC)" I was a main contributor to the original article, which is (currently) not publically available on the embryonic Aircadetcentral wiki. There are no issues with the content being mirrored, once the original dedicated wiki eventually goes back-on line; also, I will undertake to ensure that any updates will be cross-maintained at the two locations Citidel (talk) 07:38, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Plagiarism Bot
Just a friendly heads up that your bot hit the Initiated state statute article which is a page based on content from ballotpedia.org (which is under the GNU Free Documentation License) so is free to be used win WIkipedia under the terms of the GNU license. Redirects tagged as copyvios of the page they redirect to?
Why is the bot tagging redirects as copyvios of the Misplaced Pages page they redirect to? eg Plumber snake. DuncanHill (talk) 16:14, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
- Also - apparent cv of an external site which bares little resemblance to even the main article? – Toon 00:41, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Smarter media
A tag has been placed on Smarter media, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Misplaced Pages:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you.
