Battle of Strasbourg

Since when has the Battle of Strasbourg another name that is more common in English? Please provide sources for that claim. Wandalstouring (talk) 09:09, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

We should stick to historical place names, for example Siege of Leningrad, not Siege of Saint Petersburg. --Brand спойт 09:20, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
It is a very clear rule that the most common name in English should be used and nothing else. Read the policy if you have the leisure to cite it. Wandalstouring (talk) 09:46, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Pornography in the United States GA Sweeps Review: On Hold

As part of the WikiProject Good Articles, we're doing sweeps to go over all of the current GAs and see if they still meet the GA criteria and I'm specifically going over all of the "Culture and Society" articles. I have reviewed Pornography in the United States and believe the article currently meets the majority of the criteria and should remain listed as a Good article. In reviewing the article, I have found there are several issues that need to be addressed, and I'll leave the article on hold for seven days for them to be fixed. I have left this message on your talk page since you have significantly edited the article (based on using this article history tool). Please consider helping address the several points that I listed on the talk page of the article, which shouldn't take too long to fix with the assistance of multiple editors. I have also left messages on the talk pages of a few other editors and a related WikiProject to spread the workload around some. If you have any questions, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 03:22, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Atlantis Reef

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Atlantis Reef, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not" and Misplaced Pages's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Yes, I have the version of My Immortal that happens to be the same as in the video, which I downloaded on LimeWire. It depends on where you downloaded your version, because both are on LimeWire, although I would think if it's on iTunes it wouldn't be hard to find the version you're looking for. --Crackthewhip775 (talk) 19:43, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi

People want to delete this article, Siege of Gordium, because virtualy no sources exist for the event. Please go to the deletion page of this article, and explain to them why it should not be delete, because I checked and found out. You added Siege of Gordium to Alexanders battles template (therefore you are the original creator), I created it by adding a sentence from the unsourced sentence in the Gordium article. If you have any sources for this siege, now is the time to display them on the article, I tried to find sources, and I could not find any either, thank you.--Ariobarza (talk) 00:20, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Ariobarza talk

Anderson maps

Hi Brand, given this award you gave to Adil Baguirov, especially for the talkpage of NK, I think it is safe to affirm you find what he wrote in the talkpage which was dismissing Armenian history and turning anything Armenian as Albanian, worthy of an award. If you are so concerned with accuracy, you'll stop using dubious sources like using the Azerbaijan Soviet Encyclopedia to add claims on Misplaced Pages which are contradicted by official sources. Here for instance, not only you are at fault in translating the title of the source used as if it was published in English but you even claim him having received the Jawaharlal Nehru Award in 1969. From the awards official site in 1969 it was Mother Teresa who received it. Obviously this was fixed, but reverted by Grandmaster who claimed that maybe there was more than one awardee, when there is indeed only one awardee per year. This is one example of the inaccuracies you perpetuate on Misplaced Pages and I just had the occasion to tell it to you to show you that you are in no position to question the credibility of the sources when you seem to use worst quality but given the amount of articles you create about Azerbaijan it is almost impossible to follow them and correct them.

As for that quote from Anderson, this is what Britannica writes: A few native Armenian rulers survived for a time in the Kiurikian kingdom of Lori, the Siuniqian kingdom of Baghq or Kapan, and the principates of Khachen (Artzakh) and Sasun. The New Encyclopedia Britannica by Robert MacHenry, Encyclopaedia Britannica, inc, Robert MacHenry, (1993) p.761. Those are still there, word by word in the 2008 Ultimate edition DVD. Several other sources have been provided. Grandmaster is actually not denying this, but is claiming that the Meliks were not totally independent to justify its removal. The map is therefore not inaccurate for the purpose of its use, which is to show where those principalities were. All this debate is a total waste of time. - Fedayee (talk) 23:28, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

It's not about turning anything Armenian to Albanian, but what is actually Albanian to Albanian. Show me other inaccuracies if you think I prefer indiscriminate refs. It's apparently a rare case but the source can't be challenged because it's not English. The source was translated to show which reference was actually used and I see no fault here. All in all I would rather give credit first to ASE and then to Andersen. Though I didn't question the existence of principalities, even Meowy confirmed some inaccuracies in map, so we can't name it flawless. As such it's to be removed and we had a long thread indeed. --Brand спойт 13:15, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

History of the fire service worldwide

I saw your interest in developing such work. Do you feel it would fit better under a language project or on its own fork? I think it would be a very interesting project. Re: NK revert

While I agree Capasitor has engaged in some tendentious editing practices, I am not willing to sign off on such a mass revert. If you feel Capasitor is making bad faith edits, either to the article or the talk page, there are places to go to air your grievance. But I strongly suggest against starting any kind of edit war or system of mass reversions. --Golbez (talk) 22:32, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Baku massacre.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Misplaced Pages's policy on images. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
