# <span id="7" />I will not add rationales for you. As the uploader it is '''your''' responsibility NOT mine.
# <span id="8" /> I do not want to see images deleted
# <span id="9" />All images must comply with policy
# <span id="10" />A generic template tag is NOT a valid fair use rationale.

# <span id="12" /> There is a very clear policy regarding having fair use rationales on fair use images. This policy is located at ] point #10(c). Rationales must be provided for each use of an image. Also please see ].
# <span id="13" /> We do not permit fair use, copyrighted images to exist on Misplaced Pages if rationales for that image's use are not provided. Please see ] #6. Also please see the ]'s resolution on this matter at ] point #4.
# <span id="14" /> For quite some time, we have attempted to encourage people to provide rationales. The results of this effort have been dismal at best.
# <span id="15" /> The creator of this bot has come under fire for performing this work manually. One of the main complaints is that the effort to tag images could just as readily be spent providing rationales. This is not the case; the uploader and/or user of each fair use image is the person who should provide the rationale. A non-involved editor can not know under what principles the user of an image intended such use as fair use.
# <span id="16" /> The use of fair use, copyrighted images on the Wikimedia servers is covered by United States law. Our policies with respect to this bot's actions are based on that law. Please see ].
# <span id="17" /> Bug reports are very welcome; tagging images as this bot is doing per policy is not a bug. If you find a bug please file a report

Per community consensus, BetacommandBot has been blocked indefinitely.

Bot signature

This isn't a question about image policy, but rather about how this bot posts notifications on article talk pages. I was wondering, couldn't the sig be on the same line as the last line of the warning, instead of return'd to a new line? It just takes up extra space and is kinda annoying especially since in a lot of cases pages get several of these warnings. Tyciol (talk) 19:56, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Need this BOT!!!

Hey, this thing was GREAT at keeping pages correct, when there are multiple Project banners...Please restart it soon? -- Mjquin_id (talk) 06:43, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

It won't happen any time soon. Per community consensus, BetacommandBot has been blocked indefinitely, as part of the community editing restriction against User:Betacommand that prohibits him from using automated tools to make edits. Kuroji (talk) 12:24, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
Do you want to place a Bot request here till then ? -- Tinu Cherian - 12:54, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

I don't know what happened but in 27 August 2007 produced loads of errors like this one. There was the "|" and it seems none went back to fix the problem and nobody blocked the bot at that day. -- Magioladitis (talk) 11:10, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

  • they can't run it because Betacommand has been banned. I don't know if he distributed the source code of his bot or not. That may be what's stopping it's running by someone else. It does run on commons though. --DFS454 (talk) 20:35, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Terrible bot

Deleted my screenshot unfairly. I probably mislabeled it, but any human could have seen that it was a screenshot of a software product with critical commentary, as per Misplaced Pages media guidelines. Good programming. -- Bubbachuck (talk) 16:50, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

The bot didn't delete anything. Calm down and try to assume good faith. --MZMcBride (talk) 16:52, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
