:Hi. I really appreciate it for posting on my talk page. Thank you very much for responding to my RfA. I have no problem with your feedback, I actually take it very positively. The RfA is quite a disappointment to me. Some users don't see that one learns from your mistakes, such as my history with the Speedy tags. I did make the mistake, but from that day I didn't make it again. My main idea is to assume good faith, I just wish some others would also be more gentle. But I'll survive it, and Ill just try even harder. King regards, ] (]) 14:57, 24 June 2009 (UTC) | :Hi. I really appreciate it for posting on my talk page. ::Hullo again Lourie, sorry about the way which the RfA seems to be going. I myself just had my own RfA fail, so I know how you feel. Hopefully you won't let any of the opposes put you off, and will return (presuming it fails) at a later date, with more experience. If you keep going the way you are at the moment I can guarantee you will become a valuable asset to Misplaced Pages. I also thought I should let you know that you can withdraw your self-nomination, should you feel inclined to (see how to withdraw at ]). :::Hi Kingpin. Yes, I feel sad, but I am already busy editing again so I feel happy again! LOL! I will certainly try again in two months time or more. I am not going to close the RfA, one should sometimes face the facts. I can only learn from this experience, and I am planning to make the most of it. One should just stand strong against criticism. Hello and welcome to my talk page!

South-Africa
Hi, in answer to your post on my talk page. Some tips:
- WP is an English language resource so try and keep posts in English even though we both speak another language.
- Please sign your posts on any talk page (see Misplaced Pages:Signatures for help and Misplaced Pages:Talk page guidelines for more guidelines.
- Try and combine several changes into one edit, by using the preview option. If you make many small changes it makes it hard to follow the page history on the history tab. See Help:Show preview.
- I have reverted your edits to the banners on Talk:Angolan War of Independence, because you removed one banner without explanation
Welcome and happy editing. — Deon Steyn (talk) 07:50, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with File:ThreeMileIsland seen from bridge.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:ThreeMileIsland seen from bridge.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Misplaced Pages's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Misplaced Pages can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Misplaced Pages:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:46, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

- Hi Nigel. The reason I've listed these Westland Wizzard images as in the Public Domain, is because Ive looked at the Flight International copyright history, at this webpage: Flight international 727-100. There I've seen that Flight International first started to publish their work in 1984 under copyright. The images I've used were published long before that date, so I've assumed they were in the Public Domain. I didn't just upload them, I really thought they are in the public domain. I've also looked at this page: Copyright Term and the Public Domain. Thanks for your time! Regards Slapsnot (talk) 09:53, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Specify area
Beste Mr Pieterse, dankie vir jou waardevolle wikipedia bydraes. JMK (talk) 21:48, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
- Middag JMK. Groete Slapsnot (talk) 13:07, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
- Dis gaaf! Wat die plekname betref, ek het die wikipedia beleid opgespoor. Geographic naming conventions meld dat: South Africa, Only disambiguate towns where necessary; use placename, province where this is unambiguous. Die beleid verskil egter plek tot plek. JMK (talk) 21:22, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Changing username
Hi AD. I want too rename my user account, but has a few questions. I've looked at what the Change username page say, but I'm still not sure about everything. In the Effects of a username change section I don't understand the following points:
- This change will not affect signatures you have already left on talk pages, or other places where you signed your username with ~~~~. Those pages will continue to display your signature (including the link to your old username) unless edited manually.
- Be aware: Once you have been renamed, your old account will no longer exist and may potentially be recreated by a third party. This is true even if your old account pages have been redirected towards your new account. To guard against impersonation, you may wish to recreate the old account yourself.
Regarding the first point, when my username is changed, will the link to the old username be a redirect to my new username? Like on the talkpages, will that link point somehow to my new username? The last point, am I allowed to recreate my old username and add only a redirect in his heading to my new username? Thank you! Regards Slapsnot (talk) 13:40, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry for cutting in, but yes, you may recreate the old account and set up the user and usertalk pages to redirect to the new account. It is often a good idea to do this, to avoid potential impersonation. Useight (talk) 21:36, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Warning re AF 447?
Hi. I was looking at an IP editor's Talk page for another, not-connected-with-planes reason and saw this from you, warning them for "adding commentary and your personal analysis". Please forgive me for butting in and/or missing the point, but I can only find the one edit on AF447 from this user, this one where they add the "current event" tag, which seemed quite a good idea. So, either I've got it wrong, or you might perhaps need to revise this warning, or something. Please note that since I spend about 95% of my time on Misplaced Pages confused about one thing or another I am quite probably wrong here - please feel free to put me right on this. Thanks and best wishes DBaK (talk) 08:31, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hi DBak. It was my mistake, I've got confused. Take a look at this link. To me it looked like 92.4.112.144 added the fact, but he or she didn't. I really get irritated with Boeing and Airbus supporters who constantly argue about which plane is the best, so I've reacted out of anger. I've already removed the warning and said I'm sorry. I think you would have noticed, because you also posted the user a message. Just like you I also spend most of my time on Misplaced Pages, and I really appreciate the fact that you've shown me my error. This way we can work together to make Misplaced Pages even more successful! Regards LouriePieterse (talk) 16:29, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- Cool - you are very welcome, and thank you very much for dealing with it so gracefully. I do see what you mean about how to make this error, so I will also be trying to avoid it myself in future! Thanks and best wishes DBaK (talk) 07:29, 10 June 2009 (UTC) (PS Yes, it was my sad obsession with the spelling of Middlesbrough that triggered this OCD-ish episode!)
Lucca Games
Hi this morning I added the page Lucca Games but now I noticed there's a problem with a conflict of interest. I published the same page on Italian WIKI without any problem....what should I do???
Thanks... Bosinic (talk) 10:00, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Bosinic. A conflict of interest refers to: editing involves contributing to Misplaced Pages in order to promote your own interests or those of other individuals, companies, or groups. Where advancing outside interests is more important to an editor than advancing the aims of Misplaced Pages, that editor stands in a conflict of interest. Misplaced Pages editors try to edit with a neutral point of view, so it is advised to rewrite your article to suite these guidelines. I also advise you to source all your facts. I hope this helps you, just ask if you have another question. Regards LouriePieterse (talk) 11:00, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

CSD nominations
Please read WP:CSD carefully; many of your nominations are either using the wrong category or are flat-out not CSD candidates. Thanks! Frank | talk 19:34, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
Misuse of G1
Hi, please remember that CSD G1 only applies to pages which are complete gibberish, for example "gfsfsdf". Please read this article and learn some other criteria. Be aware that warning good faith users about pages which they put time and effort into as being nonsense can be BITEy. Cheers - Kingpin (talk) 19:35, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Kingpin. Sorry, Ill look into it. Sometimes I find it difficult to place the article, and then I use G1. It wont happen again. Thanks for showing me my error! Regards LouriePieterse (talk) 19:39, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- If you can't "place the article", that may be an indication it's not a candidate for CSD at all. Frank | talk 19:40, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- No problem. But if you can't find a critera for speedy deletion which fits a page, then don't nominate it, not every new page needs to be speedied :). Don't let me put you off working in CSD, it's an area which could use more users - Kingpin (talk) 19:42, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- Okay Kingpin. I'm sorry, I am just very tired. When I am tired I usually get hasty and make stupid mistakes. I try to make a difference at Misplaced Pages, I really work very hard to do all I can. Please forgive me if I sometimes make mistakes. Luckily I learn from them. Thanks for helping me on this polite manner, I really appreciate it! LouriePieterse (talk) 19:51, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Mooger Fooger
Why did you start an AfD when a speedy delete tag was placed on this article. BigDunc 19:36, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hi BD. My internet connection is pretty slow. When I viewed the page the speedy tag weren't there. I wasn't sure if I should add a speedy or AfD tag. So I then added the AfD tag because I sometimes know the article doesn't belong on Misplaced Pages, but I don't know how to place it. Regards LouriePieterse (talk) 19:45, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- I have asked an admin for clarification on what to do in a situation like this, the use of the show preview button might have solved this. What I would normally do is wait and see if the speedy tag is removed/declined before starting Prod or AfD thanks. BigDunc 19:49, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks for letting me know. If I had seen the speedy tag I wouldn't have placed the AfD tag. See my above messages to Kingpin. Today just isn't my day. Sorry, this wont happen again. Regards LouriePieterse (talk) 19:56, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

You can create the page again, or you can even ask one of the administrators to send you a copy of the deleted article. Refer to the posts on you talk page for more information. Layout and reference problems on new pages
Hi Kingpin. I've got a few questions, you look like a friendly Wikipedian, so please help me! I frequently patrol the New Pages and Recent changes, and regularly come across the following: A user created a new page with a total legitimate topic, a topic which belongs on Misplaced Pages, but the layout of the article is terrible and none of the facts are referenced. What should I do? Kind regards, LouriePieterse (talk) 08:46, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
- Well firstly you need to find out if all the "facts" are actually true. After finding sources (these must be reliable, and independent of the topic (newspapers and similar are normally best)), the way to reference them is the place the Url of the source (or you can use the cite template, try enabling refTools (read more about them here) in "my preferences > gadgets > refTools", which makes adding cites easy). If you are just adding the url, then you can use a ref, add this by placing the text
<ref>url of source here</ref>
after the piece of text you want to reference. Don't forget to create a new section titled "References" with the content of that section being "{{reflist}}".
Another way you can cleanup a page is by splitting it into sections (there is a page which explains what order sections should be in), often the creator will have added external links to the bottom without a section title etc.
Adding categories is a good way to make the page more accessible, and look nicer. If you are not sure which categories to add, go to a page on a similar subject and copy and paste the ones you think are appropriate. Add a category by adding]
to the bottom of the page.
While all of that is very useful, I can't explain everything on your talk page, but the best place to look for more is the Manual of Style. Cheers - Kingpin (talk) 07:49, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Removed speedy deletion tag: Adil Thathaal
Hello LouriePieterse, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
It is obvious that you haven't read Paul Humphries' book that I used as the source of the table and the interpretation in the section Riders identified as nations, so please don't spoil the table. When you cite a source, don't make your own interpretations or "corrections". 130.230.31.119 (talk) 23:41, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- First of all, when you point out edits, don't include intermediate revisions. I've made four edits to the article, of which only one changed facts in the table. I only made two changes; namely removing the Oligarchy?? which just stood there, and I replaced the red with green. There are a few reasons why I did it. Firstly because the section just above the table's section is called Pale (green) Horse. In that particular section there is also referred quite often to the pale green horse. One of the references of the article also handles about the pale green horse. Please be kind. One not making trouble, I am just an average Wikipedian. Kind regards, LouriePieterse (talk) 11:52, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- I understand that you struggle to improve the article, but there is a difference between changing one accurate quotation and improving article by adding some other information. The two question marks and "Red" are in the cited table in the book. They are not typographical errors. The table represents Humphries' interpretation in very compact form. It is not a big part of the article, but it was accurate when I copied it from the book as a quotation. I suggest that you seek for some other way (than changing contents of that table) to improve the article. 130.230.31.119 (talk) 15:14, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- This source states that the rider is green. I don't have the book so I can't see the other. And it would seem strange to have two red horsemen no? Maybe you're getting muddled with the second horse? - Kingpin (talk) 14:11, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

Hello LouriePieterse, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. Joining accounts in different languages of wikipedia
Can I join my account in russian and english wikipedia ?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.31.113.54 (talk) 23:50, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hi IP user, unfortunately not. But one thing you can do is to use you unified account over all the Wiki's. I would suggest to use your account with the most edits at the other Wiki's as well. Please take a look at the following link for more information. Kind regards, LouriePieterse (talk) 16:41, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Slightly excessive tagging
The next time you WP:TAGBOMB an article like you did with Missa Solemnis (Bruckner), please leave an explanation on the talk page so people can tell you actually read the article and weren't just putting down every random tag that popped into your head (not everyone will assume good faith, e.g., assume that you did read the article before tagging it). If you're not sure what to say on the talk page to explain the tags, you can consult WP:RESPTAG for guidance; that page covers many tags.
Also, I noticed that you did the tagbombing with the Friendly script. May I remind you of the warning: "Be advised that even when using these scripts, you take full responsibility for any action done using them. You must understand the Misplaced Pages policies and use this tool within that policy, or risk being blocked for its misuse." Incarnatus (talk) 21:55, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Incarnatus. Ive added the correct tags to the article. The following tags were removed from my last edit — the one were I've added the tags:
- Clean up
- Primary sources
- Copyedit
- Expand
- I am going to go trough each of these points. Looking at number one, Clean up is the following: Cleanup issues that this project covers may include wikification, spelling, grammar, tone, and sourcing. It is a tag that indicates the article should have attention on various fields, not just a certain field. I can't see why James removed the tag. When one looks at the revision where I've added the tag, it is clear that the article needs clean up. Please refer to the Misplaced Pages:Manual of Style for more information.
- Secondly, the primary sources tag: A primary source is a document or person providing direct evidence of a certain state of affairs; in other words, a source very close to the situation you are writing about. There is a lot of sources, but I can't verify one of them via the internet. Take a look at this source and this source. I've found them with Google and it can be useful as a references. Please refer to the Misplaced Pages:Use of primary sources in Misplaced Pages and Misplaced Pages:Reliable sources for more information.
- Thirdly the copy editing: Copy editing is the work that an editor does to improve the formatting, style, and accuracy (but not content) of a manuscript. Copy refers to written or typewritten text for typesetting, printing, or publication. The article did need copy editing, such as:
- Titles of works of art, literature, etc., should be italicized.
- Spelling such as premiered that should be premièred.
- Please refer to the Misplaced Pages:How to copy-edit for more information.
- Last, the expand tag. There is a major difference between expand and expert. Anyone can expand an article, but only a expert on the particular field can make the important decisions regarding what information is important, what information is lacking, ect. I am NOT taking you on in any manner, I am someone who tries to be as friendly as possible. All I am saying is, please dont accuse me of something I did not do. One thing to remember is, if you assume good faith, then the other party would do the same. Kind regards, LouriePieterse (talk) 16:44, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
rfa
Ive responded on your rfa. Please understand that im just trying to give you constructive feedback. I think you will one day make a great admin. keep it up! :) Ottawa4ever (talk) 22:27, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hi. King regards, LouriePieterse (talk) 14:57, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hullo again Lourie, sorry about the way which the RfA seems to be going. I also thought I should let you know that you can withdraw your self-nomination, should you feel inclined to (see how to withdraw at Misplaced Pages:Guide_to_requests_for_adminship#Closure). Happy editing - Kingpin (talk) 16:36, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Kingpin. Thanks for posting me message. Kind regards, LouriePieterse (talk) 16:50, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Db-t3
Thank you for your efforts to clean up Misplaced Pages. However, to help make the process go more smoothly, I encourage you to review the criteria for speedy deletion carefully. Many of the templates you marked with {{db-t3}}
do not meet the specific requirements for that template (specifically, that there be another existing template that can be used for the same purpose). In some cases, another template such as {{db-test}}
or {{deprecated}}
would have been more appropriate. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 16:18, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Russ. I've added that tag because there is only two tags for templates. Can I add an article tag to a template? LouriePieterse (talk) 16:33, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
