The Jewish Settlement Police were a division of the Notrim established in the British Mandate of Palestine in 1936. Members, known as Nodedot, were trained by their commander, Yitzhak Sadeh, in the art of unconventional warfare and specialised in mobility and surprise attacks.
British officer Charles Orde Wingate, who was posted to Palestine in 1936, formed a joint British-Jewish unit known as the Special Night Squads.
In collaboration with the Settlement Police, British officer Charles Orde Wingate, a renounced Zionist supporter (Black, 1992, p. 14), formed a joint British-Jewish unit known as the Special Night Squads. They fought Arab guerillas who were attacking the Iraqi Petroleum Company pipeline.
