Speedy deletion nomination of Extremaduran contractions

A tag has been placed on Extremaduran contractions requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Misplaced Pages:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. List of Romance languages

Not necessary disagreeing with you, but could you, please, explain these edits in the talk page of the article, as you would to intelligent non-specialists. For example "X language. Refers to ... Not a language because this is a dialect of language Y..." (1-2 sentences for each language should be enough to understand what you mean.) This is in order to prevent someone in the future re-adding/re-deleting them again into/from the article without explanation. At least we would know what the issues are/could be.

If you could also improve the references of the article, it would really help very much to improve the overall quality of the article. Thank you very much, Dc76\ 00:32, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

User:LuisGomez111/History of the Spanish Language

I moved History of the Spanish Language back to to User:LuisGomez111/History of the Spanish Language. The problem is that we already have an article with the title History of the Spanish language. Doing major changes like this are fine but you have to keep it in userspace until it's ready to replace the main article. We can't have 2 articles with essentially the same title. One subject per title. --User:Woohookitty 10:10, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Translator

Hi. I don't know a translator, but there are on-line dictionaries like this. I could help you with translations too. Bye. Lin linao (talk) 06:38, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Hilfe x 2

Hi. How can I help you in castúo? There are Mapudungun courses in cities of Chile and Argentina. A very good textbook is Mapudunguyu (Catrileo, 1988) and a good basic grammar is Grámatica básica de la lengua mapuche (Hernández, Ramos and Huenchulaf, 2006); other resources are Mapudungun. El habla mapuche (Zúñiga, 2006), Gramática araucana (Augusta, 1903); on Logos there is a list of common sentences and words. Bye. Lin linao (talk) 07:50, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Cantabrian and Extremaduran

Astur-Leonese is a dialect continuum, all variants can be considered in the same status either a language or a dialect. There is not agreement, so all possibilities must be contemplated. Both Cantabrian and Extremaduran are considered by UNESCO as asturleonese dialects .(Alternate names: Bable; Mirandese (local name in Portugal); Extremaduran (dialect); Cantabrian (dialect)). Although extremaduran was given a ISO code ext it's quite clear that both languages are part of the same linguistic group, in fact both dialects/languages are extremely inteligible being cantabrian and extremaduran closer than extremaduran and asturian or leonese.Uhanu (talk) 22:36, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Re: Satania

Hi! I've added links that point to the article, so it's not orphaned anymore. The two other issues (notability and referencing) are more serious. The problem is that there are not many reliable sources available that have written about the song. The only one that I could find was this interview of Txus at themetalcircus.com, but I don't understand Spanish so I don't know how much relevant information there really is about the song. The fact that there are not enough reliable sources available means that there's probably not enough information to warrant a separate article for the song. In my opinion, it would be better if the information was in its own section in the Finisterra article, and Satania would be a redirect to that article. What do you think? Speedy deletion nomination of La posada de los muertos

A tag has been placed on La posada de los muertos requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

<>Multi-Xfer<> (talk) 23:30, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Help

Hello. You should find someone here who can speak with you in Spanish, it will be easier for you. I on't know anything about the article you wrote and it seems to not satisfy the notability policy. <>Multi-Xfer<> (talk) 23:56, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Chinato

Your question on my userpage: At the meta.wikimedia.org you will find all languages available. One of the administrators might be able to help you out with this. Happy editing! Lars Washington (talk) 08:37, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

ext.wikipedia spells it like Chinatu (varianti e Malpartia e Prasencia, ya estinta), Maybe first try to find out what the exact correct spelling is and see from there. Lars Washington (talk) 08:48, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Question

Hi. Sorry to bother you, but I'm editing the Howard Bloom article, and have a question for someone with knowledge of French. Can you tell me if this source supports the following passage:

Bloom was publicist and career advisor for Herbie Hancock , the Simon & Garfunkel Reunion Tour, the 25th Anniversary of the Beatles Invasion of the United States, Queen, AC/DC, Kiss, Aerosmith, Supertramp, Genesis, Phil Collins, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Joan Armatrading, Simply Red, Spandau Ballet, Berlin, Spiro Gyra, ZZ Top, and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, and Run DMC. Bloom and his firm publicized Amnesty International’s first effort to gain visibility in the US, handled the launch of Farm Aid, and worked with a small slew of major films from Paramount, Disney, Warner Brothers, and New Line Cinema.

Does the article establish that the assertion in the passage is correct, or does Bloom merely assert it himself in the interview? Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 01:25, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Repeated removal of Template:RefImprove from Extremaduran language

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Misplaced Pages, as you did to Extremaduran language, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. As I pointed out in the last edit summary, I expect at the very least a rationale for your removal of this template. --LjL (talk) 20:10, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
