WP:Good article reassessment/Ali's Smile: Naked Scientology/1

There have been changes to the article and some further discussion of the issues. Any further comments you have on whether the article now meets the criteria or not would be welcome. Geometry guy 13:05, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Good topic?

Talk:Han Dynasty says that it is part of a good topic, but that is entirely false. It is part of a featured topic. What happened here?--Pericles of Athens 18:32, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Talk:Economy of the Han Dynasty says the same thing.--Pericles of Athens 18:37, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
Ah! Thanks for letting me know. I was very confused there for a moment, since your edits did not seem to show any sign that you wrote "GT" by accident. Regards.--Pericles of Athens 18:39, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
That's fine. As long as everything will eventually display correctly I will be fully content. Cheers.--Pericles of Athens 18:52, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Re: closing FT & GTs

Thanks a lot! Apart from putting the FT/FTA in the wrong logs (see my contributions. The FT log vs GT log distinction appears pointless seeing as how the latter transcludes the former, but it's for the bot that does WP:FT2009), you got it all right, which is impressive! Extremely helpful.

Now, imagine how long it takes to promote a 25-article topic, fetching the oldids for each of those articles as you go... rst20xx (talk) 19:43, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

I would suggest we get Masem to run the Smash Hits peer review immediately, and then do the promotion with that article included once the peer review has completed. Peer reviews only take 10 days so we may as well keep things nice and clean and let it happen like that - rst20xx (talk) 19:43, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Warmachine

About Warmachine and Category:Steampunk games. The category seems to be inherited from Iron Kingdoms. That is logical, but still we need a source or some text to link the two articles in respect with this category. Can you help with this?

Note: I've placed an identical request on User talk:Thumperward. Debresser (talk) 01:00, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

Featured topics

Thanks for doing promotions on featured topics. Most of my wiki time has been devoted to working on Wikimedia Canada, so I've been ignoring FT, but I want it to succeed, so its good to know that there is another person out there careful enough to do the promotions right. --Arctic Gnome (talkcontribs) 01:51, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

LGBT Question

I'd like to start a new article about a LGBT artist. The only problem is a lot of the press I have on them is in actual magazines. How does one prove notability if a lot of the person's press (40%?) is in actual gay publications/magazines not online press. What would you suggest I do? Thanks. Swancookie (talk) 21:42, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

LGBT themes in mythology

Sorry about that revert, I didn't take the time to read properly. Just saw the line 'Chinese mythology has been described as "rich in stories about homosexuality"', and thought it was vandalism, just then saw what I had reverted. Sadly, a lot of additions including the word 'homosexuality' or 'gay' are vandalism. Sorry again, my mistake! -- NathanoNL 09:56, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:Good article reassessment/TNA World Heavyweight Championship/1

I replied at Misplaced Pages:Good article reassessment/TNA World Heavyweight Championship/1 to your comment.--WillC 12:22, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

I have expanded the article to near double the bytes. When the GAR began it was at 11,996 bytes, and now it is at 20,101 bytes. It once looked like this, and now it looks like this. I hope this satisfies you enough to change your vote.--WillC 08:06, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, Yobmod!

And now I feel really guilty, for (a) hijacking Erotes's main page appearance with a totally lesbian hook, and (b) then being barely on Misplaced Pages while it was going through DYK selection. Glad to see it's now in the queue - well done! Gonzonoir (talk) 15:35, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

DYK for Erotes (mythology)

Updated DYK query On July 15, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Erotes (mythology), which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Re: Mathematics

I'm watching the GAR so I'll pop in when necessary. The discussion there seems to be far more constructive than what was said at the GAN and at WT:WPM, so I'll leave it be for now. If this GAR manages to help improve the article, then I'm happy. Gary King (talk) 15:53, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Richard Isay

Hi Yobmod, thank you for your edit to the article. I have to point out however that one of the categories you restored is "1939 births", although the article now states Isay was born in 1934. Personally I would tread very carefully here, as this is a possible BLP issue. Born Gay (talk) 20:18, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Ja - this is what i meant when i said the article shouldn't exist. Not because of failing notability, but the whole thing is a BLP issue, and considering the claims made could easily destroy a person's career, we shouldn't be taking chances on any of it. I'll leave a note on the new user's talk - i'm guessing from the name that he is the best one to find sources.
Update: I've left a welcome message explaining we need sources. I've also removed the category that conflicted with the article for now, and changed the one useful link into a source (removing the IMDB link). I'll make a stab at translating the source too, it'll good practice :-).YobMod 09:06, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Talk:Mahabharata

Please see my reply. Can you please add tags and enlist issues asap, may be before a formal GAR? --Redtigerxyz 13:19, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Please see Mahabharata as well as Lgbt themes in mythology article. --Redtigerxyz 15:06, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
See my comment on Mahabharata about the GAR. I have an eye on LBGT myths, I still don't see the tales like Shikandi there. See LBGT discussion. --Redtigerxyz 06:35, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
plz read my soln on lbgt talk and give your input. --Redtigerxyz 14:01, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

ipc cats

You may have found a solution, by making it a subcat. I really want to avoid a fight about categories, when there are substantial issues to discuss. . DGG (talk) 03:39, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for noticing :-). There are dozens of other such "xxxx in science fiction" articles (that were not in the pop culture cat), so this solution also gets all of those included too. As you say, hopefully people can now spend time improving the articles themselves (I had actually forgotten about creating the religion in SF article, whoops!).YobMod 06:50, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Munchausen by Internet

Thank you for your comments on my talk page. As usual, forces far beyond the actual issues in the article are clouding any improvements that should be made. If you would like to chime in on the article talk page about how to make it clearer in the lead that Feldman is the primary researcher in this field, please feel free. I did not include his name in the lead because it's a pretty short article already and it seemed repetitive to me. But I'm willing to clarify anything that needs to be clarified. Add any other suggestions you have there. Thank you. --Moni3 (talk) 10:14, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
