Hi Mikhailov, I see you left a on ] saying that their username doesn't meet our username policy. However, you didn't specify a reason why you think the username is inappropriate. Offensive? Promotional? Misleading? I think it would be better to point out what the problem is rather than just redirect a new user to a pretty lengthy policy page that can be hard to understand the first time around. By the way, which template are you using? Is that one of the standard templates, or is it your own wording? Regards, ] (]) 10:26, 28 August 2009 (UTC) |

Captions
An image's caption is text that accompanies the image. The caption may include the title of the picture and/or an explanation of what is depicted in the image. Not every Misplaced Pages image needs a caption: some are simply decorative, while some others are self-explanatory. Captions should not repeat the article title name unnecessarily. If you decide that an image does not need a caption, then please follow the advice at Misplaced Pages:Alternative text for images to specify appropriate "alt" text. Alt text should not be a mirror of the caption text. Captions can be added by using the frame or thumb parameter as part of an image tag. How to easily recall a username
Trying to recall an editor's username can be challenging. There are various ways to solve this:

Watchtower Library 2008 (Update)
No, it's not yet being shipped out. Apparently some new enhancements were recently added. Also, as a reminder it's only available to dedicated, baptized Witnesses of Jehovah. Glenn L (talk) 03:12, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
Again, because of the enhancements I mentioned 11 1/2 days ago, nobody - at least that I know - has the '08 CD yet. I'm using the '07 CD with a boost from the online TRU (Theocratic Research Utilities) which updated its database in late December. The good news is that I have access to the entire '09 Theocratic School schedule, and both the Congregation Bible Study schedule and full daily text through late February even without the '08 CD. You should be ordering the Wtl Lib CD through your local congregation, preferably in September or October when the km makes its annual announcements. In the US, last September's km announced ordering the '09 Calendar, Examining the Scriptures Daily (aka Daily Text) and Yearbook; October's, the '08 Watchtower & Awake! bound volumes and Watchtower Library on CD. Misplaced Pages in Hmong
For your interest. I've read some Chinese materials for Hmong, and adds some comments in m:Requests for new languages/Wikipedia_Hmong. Feel free to have a look. -✉ Hello World! 02:05, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Deletion of JW talk archives
Hi,
I went through and declined all of your speedy deletion requests. Talk page archives are not normally deleted, especially when the content has been recently removed from the talk pages themselves. CSD-G7 does not apply, because you are not the sole author of that content. Please provide a detailed explanation of what you were trying to do, and please do not engage in any other such deletion efforts until you have provided such an explanation. Thanks, Jclemens (talk) 07:10, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- Did you realize that if I'd deleted those archives, the content would be gone from both the talk pages and the archives? Feel free to design new archive formats, but please move content to the new format or leave it intact until that's done--deleting the pages before the new archives format in place effectively deletes those discussions. They can be recovered, but still--it's not a smooth way to do things. Cheers, Jclemens (talk) 07:24, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not sure how the best way to do that would be. Look at "what links here" for that file, and there are a number of templates which use it. Maybe transcluding one of them onto those pages would help? Jclemens (talk) 05:14, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
Bible Teach and other publications
You mentioned at Talk:What Does the Bible Really Teach? that you could not obtain the Bible Teach book in either English or German where you live. If that's still a problem, you can download the text at and the audio at - in both languages. Several other publications are also available in each language at the sites. When you enter each site just select the language first, then the publication Glenn L (talk) 01:12, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
Well, you can still download the audio from jw.org but the watchtower.org site currently does NOT has the text for the Bible Teach book. Glenn L (talk) 13:52, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
And now the text is available at . Glenn L (talk) 14:30, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

ThankSpam
Thank you for participating in my "RecFA", which passed with a final tally of 153/39/22. There were issues raised regarding my adminship that I intend to cogitate upon, but I am grateful for the very many supportive comments I received and for the efforts of certain editors (Ceoil, Noroton and Lar especially) in responding to some issues. I wish to note how humbled I was when I read Buster7's support comment, although a fair majority gave me great pleasure. I would also note those whose opposes or neutral were based in process concerns and who otherwise commented kindly in regard to my record. ~~~~~ |
A Message From Das Ansehnlisch
Yo Mikhailov Kusserow! I just wanted to thank you for being the first one to write on my talk page. Also, can you help me make some pages for Coldplay's Prospekt's March EP songs? if you can that's great!, if you can't I understand. See Ya Later!--Das Ansehnlisch (talk) 13:16, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
P.S.
You can call me "The Chauffeur" (which is my real username).

The Watchtower
Why have you moved The Watchtower away from its most common name without discussion??--Jeffro77 (talk) 13:34, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
- No, he was right to give the article the same title as the magazine. The Watchtower is the name of the Society, the Watchtower Society, so its confusing to use that same name for the magazine. The magazine actually has more than two words in the name. The magazine name is The Watchtower Announcing Jehovah's Kingdom. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Soc8675309 (talk • contribs) 15:30, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, Jeffro is correct concerning the redirect. The name The Watchtower does refer to the magazine, not to the Society. Again, while The Watchtower Announcing Jehovah's Kingdom is its official title, the magazine itself (over 99% of the time) and the public in general use the common name The Watchtower. As for "the name of the Society", the short terms the Society and the public use are Watchtower or Watch Tower without the prefix "The" attached. A phrase commonly used by the public when they see Witnesses at their door is: "Are you Watchtower (sometimes 'the Watchtower') people? We're not interested." The official abbreviations used are WTS for Watch Tower / Watchtower Society and WTB&TS for both Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania and Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc. Note that "WT" is used in the abbreviation when referring to either "Watch Tower" or "Watchtower". Glenn L (talk) 16:37, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Welcome Back!
Yo Mikhailov!, good to hear from you again. Where you been for all that time?. Anyway, sure I'll accept those invatations. I am a person who recreates redirected article that people (especially one's who know/know alot about the page subject) just delete and not edit them. I've even asked people why they do that!, so yeah, I'll accept those invites, I love european music (They know how to make FANTASTIC music, unlike alot of American bands. Heck, I'm even European and I am pretty good at singing and doing some other musical things. I am also in a band, we don't have a fully decided name, but I think were gonna be called Pectoralz). Respond (if you can) ASAP. See ya round, and don't let the bastards grind ya down! (Hmm. What song could I be taking this from?)
P.S. Do you live in America?--Das Ansehnlisch (talk) 14:14, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi
New to Misplaced Pages so I hope I'm going about this the right way.
I'm certainly no expert, but on the Greeks (finance) page shouldn't the last term in the theta formula for puts be (-d1) NOT (-d2)?

My name was just changed to Bobby Taylor from The BT Company, as you probably guessed, I am new on here and I am still learning. Can you please let me know why the name is unacceptable, and why did they change it for me and didn't tell me that. I wanted it changed to Duncan Daniels (that is the biography I am working on) but then I was told that it is not advisable to use personal names (Duncan Daniels is a professional name though). I decided to use Bobby Taylor instead, but if Bobby Taylor is not acceptable, then I would like it to be Duncan Daniels please.
Also I need need to know how I can move the bio I've been working on to the appropriate place to make it "live".
Thank you —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobby Taylor (talk • contribs) 18:21, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
cinemalumiere
Hi, I put in a request to change my user name a few days ago (To 'cinemalu' --I hope that is different enough I don't really care what the username is..), but nothing has changed yet. Also, I must object to my being branded as so because the two links I put on in fact contain more information about the movies than the imdb links do, but for some reason imdb is allowed? I understand the conflict of interest argument but understand that 1st, it is NOT my company I am just a webmaster, and 2nd, I genuinely believe that the information about the movies in question would be helpful to anyone interested.
Anyway, I made the request for name change so it should be happening fairly soon I hope, and I won't add those links again, unless after reviewing the content of them you decide they are useful enough.
thanks, Cinemalumiere (talk) 03:44, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
