Bill Rowe, Q.C. (born 1942) is a broadcaster, lawyer and former politician in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Rowe was born in Grand Bank and attended Memorial University of Newfoundland where he earned his bachelors degrees in arts and law. A Rhodes Scholar, he earned a Master of Arts in Law from the University of Oxford
Rowe entered politics and served five terms in the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly entering the cabinet of Joey Smallwood at the age of 26. In his later political career he served as leader of the Liberal Party of Newfoundland and Labrador and Leader of the Opposition from 1977 to 1979 but resigned as leader prior to the 1979 general election. One of Rowe's political aides while he was Opposition Leader was a young Brian Tobin.
After leaving politics, Rowe resumed his law practice and became a novelist and commentator. He has hosted a daily radio phone in show on VOCM for over twenty years. In 2004, he served as the provincial government's representative to Ottawa during the negotiations that led to the Atlantic Accord. Rowe also writes a weekly column for St. John's daily, The Telegram.
Rowe was named Queen's Counsel in 2007.
He is the son of the late Liberal Senator Frederick William Rowe.
