::<sigh> You misrepresent my intent so completely... "illegitimately inflated regard for yourself" is perplexing as I have never said I was better than anyone else. Ever. "Take issue" is not what I am doing, I am making a request, which you are free to ignore, just as was I. I do not intend to mock the process by asking for formality - if someone wishes to go to through a formal process, it is logical. I have only respect for others here and the process . Despite your misrepresentation, I respect your right to say what you wish. My lack of response was not disrespect, but because I did not, and still do not feel, the whole thing was necessary (my opinion). --] - '']'' - ] 03:09, 25 January 2006 (UTC) |

Please feel free to leave me a message. I will generally respond to comments I believe are emergent on your talk page; most often, I respond to casual commmentary here. If you prefer, we can continue a discussion on your talk page, just let me know. If you do not see a comment you left here, it has probably been archived; please look in my archives.
I appreciate hearing from individuals who have found mistakes (spelling, etc.) in my posts; these turn up all too often, as I tend to type very fast and not catch spelling mistakes in my edits. If you find an error, you may get an indulgence. (WikiSins only!)
As a theology professor and scholar of Roman Catholicism, I am happy to answer questions about the Church. Be warned that my answers to questions about the Church always reflect the Church's official position, but are often long!
It's important to remember: I'm not a Catholic, I'm a scholar of Catholicism.

- Your account is too new. We have discussed the matter at length, and the decision is to defer. Please feel free to use -vandalism2 in the mean time. Essjay 20:19, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
I would but "*** Access to channel #wikipedia-en-vandalism2 is blocked"
Thanks Betacommand 20:31, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
- I'll check into it. Essjay 20:33, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
I've checked the channel, and the only thing we can figure out is that you haven't identified to nickserv, and are therefore blocked. Register your nick, identify to services, and try to join. There are no blocks, bans, or other barriers to joining. Essjay 21:36, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
Don't threaten me again.

- The warning seemed appropriate. Long term contributors like Sam Spade ought to be familiar with WP:CIV by now. If Sam is concerned that your behaviour was abusing your admin privileges, I encourage him to bring the matter to WP:AN/I. TenOfAllTrades(talk) 23:57, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
Thank you Ten, I appreciate the support. Essjay 23:59, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

Vandalism by 207.62.192.18
I'm here to report a user 207.62.192.18 who has recently vandalized three school articles. I noticed he has an extensive record of vandalization on his talk page, including a final warning from yourself. Please check it out and block him from editing Misplaced Pages articles as necessary. -- Big.P 07:27, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

What should I do?
You're the one who welcomed me here, so:
I have recently come across a user who has uploaded more than 50 images, all with source URLs, but without proper license tags. Messages left on the subject's talk page by several users have been ignored. What should I do to deal with this? Alr 23:20, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
You should tag them with {{no source}} and they will be removed in a few days -- ( drini's page ☎ ) 23:23, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
I've tried, but this person is still uploading them, and there's just too many to tag effieciently. Alr 23:24, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
Please don't use JOG
Hello. In my RfAr, you repeatedly refer to me as "JOG." I am offended by this usage, this is not my name, and I consider its use disrespectful. This was not your intent, of course, as you were likely looking for brevity. As I have changed Mr. to Dr. in deference to your status as requested, I humbly request that the deminutive JOG be changed at least to Jeffrey O. Gustafson, if not Mr. Gustafson due to the formality of the proceedings. This may seem trivial (and in view of the big picture, it is, I guess), but JOG is extremely offensive to me and my request is a tiny one. Thanks, --Jeffrey O. - Had you bothered to show some respect to those of us who raised concerns over your conduct, I might be inclined to take your request seriously. Since you dismissed us without even bothering to make a civil or respectful response to the concerns raised in the RfC, you haven't earned my respect. I honestly couldn't care less if you refer to me as Mr. or Dr.; your intent is to make a mockery of the process, and I refuse to help you do it. To come here and take issue with me over something so trivial, when you can't even be bothered to respond to your own glaring violations of policy and this community's standards is very telling of your illegitimately inflated regard for yourself over the other users of this site.
