Psychic

Hiya, as you may be aware, there has been an edit war at this article, and the article is within the scope of ArbCom restrictions, per Misplaced Pages:Requests for arbitration/Pseudoscience. Accordingly, I am asking you to please avoid any further reverts at this article, though you are welcome to edit and expand it. Thanks, --Elonka 22:31, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

April 2010

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Acupuncture. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. Stillwaterising (talk) 00:20, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Welcome to Misplaced Pages. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Quintessence (physics) with this edit. When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Joseph McCarthy

If you wish to challenge this article's Good Article status please follow the instructions at Misplaced Pages:Good_article_reassessment/guidelines#delist. --NeilN 18:59, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

I did.
It doesn't seem you did: "Make sure you are logged in; if you are not a registered user, please ask another editor to reassess the article, or request a community reassessment." --NeilN 20:19, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
I did ask another user and another user responded on the talk page. 128.59.169.46 (talk) 14:33, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
There are six steps to go through to get a GA delisted. --NeilN 14:43, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
If you have prepared your review as detailed in step 2 then I will create the reassessment page for you after you tag the talk page as outlined in step 1. --NeilN 14:47, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
I already tried that: http://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Talk%3AJoseph_McCarthy&action=historysubmit&diff=425374317&oldid=425373987
Instead, I was rudely dismissed: http://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Talk%3AJoseph_McCarthy&action=historysubmit&diff=427331102&oldid=427294819
But now there is a stop hand nuvola below telling me that I cannot make any more reverts because I already have made three within 24 hours. Can you revert for me?

Adding a tag is not reverting so you can do that safely. From what I can tell you did step 1 but didn't do step 2 (or ask anyone to help you) or step 3 and 4. That's why your tag was removed. If you do add a tag, you need to decide if you want an individual reassessment (i.e., assess yourself) or community reassesment. If you assess yourself, you must specifically spell out what in the article fails the good article criteria. Whatever you decide, I will create the page for you. Steps 3 and 4 then must follow. --NeilN 19:45, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

I tried to get people to help me here: http://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Articles_for_creation&diff=prev&oldid=425375434 The criteria it fails is 4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without bias, giving due weight to each. The views of conservative commentators are given undue weight because according to Misplaced Pages:Neutral_point_of_view#Due_and_undue_weight the following must be true "Misplaced Pages should not present a dispute as if a view held by a small minority deserved as much attention overall as the majority view. Views that are held by a tiny minority should not be represented except in articles devoted to those views. To give undue weight to the view of a significant minority, or to include that of a tiny minority, might be misleading as to the shape of the dispute. Misplaced Pages aims to present competing views in proportion to their representation in reliable sources on the subject. This applies not only to article text, but to images, wikilinks, external links, categories, and all other material as well." This is not true for Joseph_McCarthy#Ongoing_debate which is giving the tiny minority view of paleoconservative rehabilitation of McCarthy's image more emphasis that it receives in most of the best sources used on the page and by serious scholars of McCarthy and McCarthyism. 128.59.169.46 (talk) 21:45, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
Ok, I am sorry no one helped you there but they are focused on new article creation. Regardless, if you add the tag I will create a page for an individual assessment (I assume that's what you want?). --NeilN 00:51, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Joseph McCarthy. Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.

In particular, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Acroterion (talk) 20:22, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
