::::Greetings -- Dave asked me for a neutral opinion. User pages which look like Misplaced Pages articles range between two extremes with a lot of gray in the middle. Once a Misplaced Pages editor has a considerable amount (yes, big gray area, I know) of good work on the project, there's pretty much no problem with making a user page that looks like a Misplaced Pages article, about that person. I've never noticed an objection to an experienced editor doing that. If the person has made no, or very few edits, then it appears to be use of Misplaced Pages as a free web host in order to get a highly placed Google hit on one's vanity page -- not kosher. My recommendation for Riyas202 (I presume you are reading this) -- do some good work on Misplaced Pages, and then after a few months of good work you will have more latitude. I also strongly recommend putting some sort of disclaimer at the top of your article, if you do ever rewrite it, "Note: this page is not a Misplaced Pages article, but rather a user page for a Misplaced Pages editor." You can use <nowiki>{{userpage}}</nowiki>, or something similar. Cheers, ] ] 02:01, 16 June 2012 (UTC) ::::Greetings -- Dave asked me for a neutral opinion. • If I leave a message for you: Please respond on your talk page. I'll probably add it to my watchlist, but if I miss something, feel free to leave a talkback.

  • If you leave a message for me: I will most likely respond here. Either add this page to your watchlist or ask me to notify you of a response on your talk page.

  • Note: I reserve the right to decline or withdraw from a situation that is escalating or uncomfortable, without giving a reason, or to take further action through permissable means. (See this policy.)

  • If I mistakenly called your edits as vandalism when I reverted them, it was probably because you did not leave an edit summary. Please realize that, in many cases, unexplained edits are indistinguishable from vandalism! This also applies to Rollbacks.

  • If you're here to troll, harass, or vandalise, I might not be able to stop you, but you will be reverted...and beware the giant dice.

Possible Ryan Kirkpatrick sighting

Here andhere. Editor is here. The spelling in the car crash article is very Ryanish....William 23:22, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

Ayup, that's him. - The Bushranger One ping only 00:07, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
I suppose the only way to remove him from the Kenya crash article is to take it to AfD? I'd be happy to have it deleted and Userfied to me, but I guess that's not permitted. YSSYguy (talk) 00:12, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
It'd be Kept at AfD; I can revdel his edits though... - The Bushranger One ping only 00:25, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
Nice work, it's like he was never there. YSSYguy (talk) 08:28, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

I reckon it's worth keeping an eye on this guy. It could be just a drongo having a bit of 'fun' but my spidey sense is tingling a bit. 06:16, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing out that the IP was changing to agree with the source. I know this because you left an edit summary. Of course if the IP had left an edit summary in the first place...

I saw a biggish fish in a stream near where I live the other day. It could have been a carp. Britmax (talk) 09:19, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
No worries. And need to carp on it. ;) - The Bushranger One ping only 15:47, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
But I feel so koi about it. --220.255.2.170 (talk) 22:59, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

Question

  • To be clear, was this appropriate? Some anon garbage truck came by to stalk/troll me about this, saying that I'm biting the n00b. Problem is, the n00b has so far contributed nothing constructive out of his 25 edits, only 3 were in article pages while the rest are in beautifying his user page like what Facebook, myspace or friendster was made for in the first place of social networking. Am I wrong? Because, if I'm wrong then god forbid that I've tagged more than a dozen such individuals here on WP with such problems/symptoms. Thoughts? (PS: Thanks for your help in reverting that smelly garbage truck on my page. And yes, he has evolved from them stinky socks, ala Pokemon style. God bless him/her~!) --Dave 16:22, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
