The Kadava Patidar (also variously spelled Kadwa, Kadva) are a sub-caste of the Patidar Kurmi community in India. They are predominantly found in the Kutch District and Mehsana District in the Northern Gujarat, with a diaspora in East Africa and the United States including California, Georgia, and Florida.
The most common surnames in the sub-caste are Patel, Amin, and Chauhan.
Origins
There are several theories of the origins of the Kadava. One religious theory holds that Kadavas are the descendants of Kush, the son of Lord Rama, though this is contested by academicsthey are suryavansi kshatriya.
