Ngô Đình Lệ Quyên (26 July 1959 – 16 April 2012), was a South Vietnamese-born Italian lawyer, that served as Commissioner of Immigration for the city of Rome.

Education

She received her Ph.D. from the University of Rome.

Family

She is the daughter of the First Lady of South Vietnam Madame Nhu and her father Ngô Đình Nhu who was the brother and chief adviser to President Ngô Đình Diệm.

Work

She worked as a lawyer in the legal IT sector and has been invited as a guest lecturer at presentations by Law Faculty of the University of Rome.

From December 1992 to November 1996, she was responsible for the foreign audience Centre of Caritas Rome, clothed in December 1996 from its current position, overseeing and coordinating the services and projects aimed at immigrants, refugees and victims of trafficking: listening centers, help desks, shelters for men, women and families, day care centers.

From July 2000 to December 2007, she was responsible for the coordination of the Italian Caritas National Asylum and Refugees Project, coordinating the activities' Asylum of 46 diocesan Caritas.

She was a member of the Caritas Europa Migration Commission, which was also president, from June 2009 Italian section of the saddle for the study of the global problem of refugees, with an international non-governmental organization with consultative status at the United Nations and the Council of Europe. "

Award

In 2008, the Italian the Interior Ministry awarded her Italian citizenship by decree of President of the Republic, for Exceptional interest of the State and outstanding services to Italy, she was the first woman to receive this award.

Death

On April 16, 2012, she was killed in a traffic accident on the way to work in Rome. She is survived by her Italian husband and their child Ngô Đình Sơn.
