GAN for Sand tiger follow up
Thank you so much for the review. I'm so sorry for not adding the references. I was planning on compiling additional references tomorrow. I misunderstood your hold notice. I thought I would have an additional 7 days to finish up the review after the 26th of December. I am so sorry about the misunderstanding, I'm relatively new to Misplaced Pages so I did not know there was a time limit on GA reviews. Thank you again for your review, and I will try to nominate it again tomorrow evening after additional references and finishing touches are made. Sorry for the inconvenience. --UND77 (talk) 04:14, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- Nothing at all to be sorry about! We all misunderstand things sometimes; I have on wikipedia recently as well. I probably shouldn't be the next reviewer because I may have a bias now, but if you nominate it for peer review after getting it to GA I will try to review it. Nitrogen
I am curious about this revert. Can you explain? Materialscientist (talk) 05:17, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- The IP (with no edits before this) changed a fact here to its exact opposite without a source or even an edit summary. I looked at the nitroglycerin and TNT articles on Misplaced Pages and they had no mention of one being more powerful than the other, only more reactive. Due to these factors, I assumed the change was vandalism and reverted it. If I was mistaken, please revert my revert. StringTheory 05:45, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, lack of edit summaries is a common nuisance. My chain of thoughts was: more sensitive usually means more explosive, thus the IP might be right, let's check, yes it is right. I just didn't want to add a poor ref., but added now a book from Wiley. Materialscientist (talk) 06:25, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
Am, Cm, Bk
I've reverted them back to synthetic; my rationale is in Misplaced Pages talk:WikiProject Elements#Natural occurrence of the elements and Misplaced Pages talk:WikiProject Elements#Natural occurrence. Double sharp (talk) 12:19, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
- I've changed Am, Cm, Bk and Cf now (on the articles I could find). Double sharp (talk) 02:11, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
Bluespotted Stingray GA
Thank you so much for picking this up for GA! I really appreciate it. I was wondering if possibly that if you have started on anything to post it so I can jump on it ASAP. Thanks, Stanfordbound 14 (talk) 02:21, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
- OK, I'll start working now. I should have something on the review page in about 10 minutes. StringTheory 02:23, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
- Hello, I have corrected what you wanted in the lead. Is there anything else? For anything? This is a class project and its closing soon, I would really love to get GA before then... So if you have anything else it would be greatly appreciated. Also, that picture should be okay soon, I am speedily trying to get that legal.I initially emailed the author and she gave me permission over an email. Due to my lack of knowledge for copyright it was put up for speedy deletion... I was unaware that she had to release all rights to Misplaced Pages, so she is writing a letter so that it may be used. Thank you for all your help. Regards, Stanfordbound 14 (talk) 18:46, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry, I've been busy lately with schoolwork, but I have looked at it again today. I hope to complete the review by Thursday, and put it on hold. Thanks for your patience; I ran into a deadline my teacher only told me about a couple of days ago. StringTheory 19:56, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, I understand totally about that haha! What do you mean by put it on hold? Because I'm completing all of your request within hours... Other than that thank and just let me know when you have something new! Regards Stanfordbound 14 (talk) 00:25, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
- Hello, I see that you're off of your "wiki-break" and was wondering if you had any other requests. Today is the deadline for my project, but I would still like to pursue GA after that. Regards, Stanfordbound 14 (talk) 12:11, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Edits removing elements with unknown chemical properties from the group articles
Group 9, group 10, group 11, the boron group, the carbon group, the pnictogens and the chalcogens (but not the halogens or noble gases) are not chemically defined categories of elements, so the elements Mt-Rg and Uut-Uuh can (and should) be kept in those articles even though their chemical properties are unknown. Vote for a flagship article (WT:ELEM)
The rules have been changed to allow voting for more than one element. You can now vote for additional elements if you want to. Double sharp (talk) 11:24, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Grant Duff
The article Grant Duff has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable minor league player, minimal coverage of the WP:ROUTINE game log variety.
While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:34, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Declined speedy deletion
Hello StringTheory11, I have declined your speedy deletion nomination of Process Hacker because {{db-corp}} does not apply to products and software, only to companies itself, you are going to have to propose it for deletion using the WP:PROD or WP:AFD process. --kelapstick 04:40, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
Alkaline earth metal
Hi. :-) The article is looking in much better shape than previously (don't get me started on its previous state). Just a tip: the next time you want to do major work on an article that involves major reorganisation, you could do it in your userspace (e.g. User:StringTheory11/Alkaline earth metal) so that the intermediate stages (which usually don't look polished) aren't seen to the visiting reader, who only gets the old and new versions.
BTW, since you're done with the first phase, I'll actually start the "joint effort" soon. :-) The only major parts of alkali metal left are (1) finishing up the periodic trends; (2) adding the chemistry section (this is a huge part); and (3) cleaning up all those pesky tags. Good luck. Double sharp (talk) 15:16, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the compliment! I am not working on it right now, as periodic table is my focus and I have limited free time, but once periodic table passes or fails I'll start working on alkaline earth metal again. In fact, I'm trying to model the article after alkali metal, as the groups are somewhat similar. StringTheory 18:30, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
Periodic table
Congratulations for the periodic table GA! Can we work on group 2 now? :-) Double sharp (talk) 12:57, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
- Sure, I'm ready to start work any time, although my free time will be limited until about August. StringTheory 02:59, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
- Since you're working on superactinide, you can also help me with period 8 element if you want, since there is a lot of overlap between the two. But currently I'm really working on alkali metal and polonium, so feel free to start without me. (The polonium project has brought me on an excursion out of WP:ELEM and more into WP:CHEM, with polonium tetrachloride, polonium dioxide, etc....) Double sharp (talk) 06:19, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
Insect wing GAN
I'm going to get some stuff done, as it all seems rather simple but right now I am on vacation and will be able to do all when I return after the 10 of July. However, feel free to review the article as much as you would like. And thank you for your time. Bugboy52.4 ¦ =-= 05:37, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

- BTW, I sided with you on WT:ELEM. Double sharp (talk) 06:03, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks!, I'll try to repay the favor sometime. StringTheory 06:06, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
- Not really a favour, but rather standing up for what seems right to me. :-) Double sharp (talk) 06:09, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
- About alkaline earth metal: maybe mention He? It has an ns configuration like the alkaline earth metals, but never behaves remotely like any of them. For compounds and reactions, talk about the main compounds – nitrides, oxides, hydroxides, halides, etc. – like I did in alkali metal, and then expound and explain Be's strange behaviour (yes, I know it's there already, but you can use examples like BeCl2, BeF2 and BeO). As TCO said, "Be is just a funky bastard and kind of plays both sides of the street." ;-) After all, that is one of the reasons why Be (along with Al with its AlCl3) is sometimes considered a metalloid. Periodic table PR
Why don't you ask mav, Nergaal or R8R for a full review? (Nergaal commented, but didn't give a full review.) They've had first-hand experience with the FA process, but I haven't yet. Double sharp (talk) 11:53, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

- I looked at the actinides again, and am sorry to say that nobelium has been rated as a stub by me for its messy state and its gross lack of citations. I intend to fix it up ASAP, as you can see in my to do page. In case I don't have enough time to fix it up, you can use this pdf. :-) Double sharp (talk) 11:40, 6 July 2012 (UTC
- Yeah, 3 references.... Anyways, if there is no new feedback on the periodic table PR when I next get some extended free time, I'll work on it. StringTheory 14:44, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
- No! That means that I might have to clean up that terrible mess... Double sharp (talk) 07:28, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
- I dumped the nucleosynthesis content on isotopes of nobelium, which is what seems usually to be done with these articles. Now it is really a bad stub. Double sharp (talk) 12:52, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
- At least with rutherfordium as a good model, it shouldn't be that hard. StringTheory 17:06, 7 July 2012 (UTC)

Higgs boson
I agree Bose shouldn't be mentioned but watch yourself on WP:3RR. Just a friendly heads up. --NeilN 18:28, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the warning! I already reported one of them to AIV for a 3RR, so you're probably right. I'll let someone else clean up the mess. StringTheory 18:30, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the barnstar! It's nice to see experienced editors all in agreement. Especially on a article that had almost 3 million views in the last 30 days. --NeilN 04:48, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Periodic table colouring
It looks as though the likely outcomes are:
- R8R Gtrs' proposal, with my addition: the same, with the halogens category removed and "other nonmetals" becoming "typical nonmetals" (F, Cl, Br, and I becoming typical nonmetals, and At becoming a metalloid);
- Sandbh's proposal, at File:R20.png.
Either way it looks as though the halogens category is going to disappear. Double sharp (talk) 06:25, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
- Great! After reading them a bit, I think I'm in favor of R8R's proposal, but I wouldn't be outraged either way. I'll help with fixing infobox colors, etc. once we decide. StringTheory11 (t • c) 15:43, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
