Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.
    Shortcuts

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Can the article please be protected until the first release date. a number of editors have redirected citing that the album simply isn't notable per guidelines. additionally Ips and users persistantly add unsourced material. — Lil_niquℇ 1 01:23, 13 September 2012 (UTC)

    WRC-TV (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent vandalism from an IP hopping vandal. Warnings have been given, blocks have been issued, but to no avail. Requesting temporary semi-protection starting at 7 days, please. NeutralhomerTalk01:12, 13 September 2012 (UTC) 01:12, 13 September 2012 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. and no IP users appear to have been blocked. Nothing that cannon be contained by regular vandalism patrolling and reverting. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:22, 13 September 2012 (UTC)

    Face Off (season 3) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Long-term semi-protection: An IP hopping vandal decided to spend 100 edits today adding a completed and completely hoaxworthy results table for this program, when only 4 episodes out of 12 have aired (he added 3 more episodes and at least one more contestant). He hit the page previously on another IP, but I caught it while updating yesterday. He's been doing this on other reality show articles, too, but this one he decided to go to town on today.—Ryulong (琉竜) 23:24, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

Declined. Appears to be the work of one IP only. Consider waning the IP, and if, and only if, the disruption continues, file a report to the appropriate noticeboard (note that these may be wrong but good faith edits). Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:32, 13 September 2012 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: BLP Vandalism – A lot of unlogged users are trying to add in fake info with political purposes - or trash info to ridiculize the first. Basically, a war of vandals is going on there. 85.219.58.184 (talk) 20:55, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

List of The Bold and the Beautiful cast members (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary full-protection:. Lots of edit-warring since last week between two ways of presenting the information. It seems that everybody wants its own version to prevail rather than finding a consensus. The last discussion on the talk page about this matter dates from September 7 and no discussion has occured since then. Although one user claimed on his edit summary that a consensus was reached, the discussion on the talk page indicates that's not the case. A protection is needed to prevent this edit warring from continuing and regenerates negociations between parties on the talk page so that a consensus can be reached. Temporary semi-protection: Reappearance of IP vandalism since last protection expired. Jojalozzo 19:07, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

Declined for now. Last block expired over four months ago and no trouble until today. I anticipate warnings/blocks will cover the 1 account/ip involved, but if not re-report. Goodnightmush 20:50, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

    Cam (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

    Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Several I.P's vandalising. J Fox (Talk) (Contribs) 18:09, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Did you by chance link to the wrong page? Or maybe I'm missing something, but I see no edits whatsoever in the past 2 months. Goodnightmush 20:52, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
Perhaps it was an error for New Era Cap Company, where Alex made one of several reversions a few minutes before coming here. Or perhaps it was a date error — also right around the same time he reported Shay420shay420 at AIV for vandalism at the Cam article, which I don't understand because all of the user's edits were in 2008. Nyttend (talk) 01:01, 13 September 2012 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Multiple IPs vandalising the article during the course of the week. Mephistophelian (talk) 16:27, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

Declined Seems to have been almost exclusive 1 IP which has finally been blocked. Re-report if multiple others become a problem. Goodnightmush 20:57, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

Mexican War of Independence (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection: Has been vandalized several times in the last few days, from multiple IP addresses. Note that this article has had to be protected in the past for similar reasons. PKT(alk) 16:13, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

OK, this is getting worse - I have counted 9 vandalistic edits in the past 3 days, and counting. PKT(alk) 20:44, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

(Non-administrator comment) The IP deleted the above Request from this page with this edit and this edit. Shearonink (talk) 15:15, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
Declined for now, the most recent IP is blocked and the admin who protected last time is still around, so this looks to be under control. – Steel 21:55, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

    Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. Kürbis () 13:59, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

Some ip-hopper keeps vandalizing the page by changing the motto to "You Only Live Ones". This is of course incorrect and blatant vandalism. Regards.--Kürbis () 19:00, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Continued edit war by different IPs. There is an unresolved content dispute going on, but the unregistered users engage in mere reverting instead of discussion. Another IP persistently falsifies a quotation from an original source (5 reverts in less then 24 hours). --RJFF (talk) 12:42, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

Fully protected, multiple confirmed users reverting too. – Steel 21:46, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

    Current requests for unprotection

    Shortcuts

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page

    Shortcut

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

Temporary semi-protection: An anonymous user editing from different IPs keep removing information that is properly supported by the references provided. Jetstreamer  19:44, 11 September 2012 (UTC)

Declined. This doesn't look like vandalism, and the IP turns up very infrequently anyway. Maybe explain on the talk page exactly which reference is relevant to each of your reverts because even I'm not clear on that. People are more agreeable when you explain reasons for things rather than just template them. – Steel 12:07, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
Well, the IP used changes almost with every edit s(he) makes to the page. I doubt any post I left at their talk page will ever be noticed. Thanks for the advice anyway.--Jetstreamer  14:29, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
