Life and career
Rodney Lough Jr.'s very first camera was a gift from an uncle as a child. It was an old beat up Olympus OM-1, but it's not the camera that matters, it's the eye that wields it. He has used 4x5 format film in the past, but now sticks exclusively to 8x10 large format film cameras.
After receiving a Brigham Young University Outstanding Achievement Scholarship, he earned a Master of Science in Statistics from Brigham Young University in 1988, and began his professional life as a statistician and mathematician. In 1995, Lough followed his passion for the natural world and became a full time photographer. Lough has been photographing America's National Parks, National Monuments, and wilderness areas ever since.
Lough opened his first gallery in 2001 and now owns three 'Rodney Lough Jr. - Wilderness Collections Galleries, One Jefferson Gallery in San Francisco and his City Center Gallery in Las Vegas and Sausolito, as well as his studio in Milwaukie, Oregon
