Speedy deletion nomination of Jesusian
A tag has been placed on Jesusian, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Misplaced Pages criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Gtwfan52 (talk) 07:35, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
- I have deleted the article as an unencyclopedic neologism (and, basically, an accusation against Christians of not following Jesus's teachings). Misplaced Pages is not a soapbox (or, in your case, a pulpit). - Mike Rosoft (talk) 07:46, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Jesusian
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jesusian, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
Gtwfan52 (talk) 07:54, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
November 2012
A tag has been placed on Jesusian requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's discussion directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of recreating the page. Thank you. Your page was deleted because it was not verifiable. Please do not recreate it again without any references. Gtwfan52 (talk) 07:57, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
- I have deleted the article for the second time, and protected it from re-creation. "Jesusian" is not an established term (if you want to challenge that, you need to provide reliable third-party sources), and your article was essentially criticism of institutional Christianity. Misplaced Pages does not serve for you to promote your personal opinion - this is what I meant when I said that Misplaced Pages is not a soapbox or a pulpit. (Mind you, I am an atheist and I believe that many Christian churches indeed deserve criticism - but Misplaced Pages articles are not opinion pieces; they need to be written in a neutral and factual way.) - Mike Rosoft (talk) 08:27, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
- Misplaced Pages has an article on nearly every belief system on the planet. However, since there are zero mention of Jesusian anywhere on the internet I could find, I suspect that this is a belief held by you and possibly a few of your friends. Articles are only allowed on Misplaced Pages if their subject is notable. That is to say, it isn't on Misplaced Pages unless there are other reliable sources already discussing the subject. I am glad you believe in peace and love and the power of the Lord, Jesus Christ. I share that belief. But because you have assigned a new name to what you believe does not mean that a Misplaced Pages article can be created on it. Get an interview in the NY Times, and then maybe it can be done. Until then, probably not. Gtwfan52 (talk) 08:29, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
Your recent edits to Talk:Jesusian could give Misplaced Pages contributors the impression that you may consider legal or other "off-wiki" action against them, or against Misplaced Pages itself. Please note that making such threats on Misplaced Pages is strictly prohibited under Misplaced Pages's policies on legal threats and civility. Users who make such threats may be blocked. If you have a dispute with the content of any page on Misplaced Pages, please follow the proper channels for dispute resolution. Please be sure to comment on content not contributors, and where possible make specific suggestions for changes supported by reliable independent sources and focusing especially on verifiable errors of fact. Thank you. Gtwfan52 (talk) 08:48, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
- You can't sue Misplaced Pages for deleting your article; that makes about as much sense as submitting an unsuitable article to a newspaper and trying to sue them for failure to publish it. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 08:56, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
- If I understand you correctly, you seem to be using the word "Jesusianism" to mean something like "non-denominational Christianity". Am I right? (The article absolutely wasn't deleted because we disagree with these beliefs. It was simply deemed to be outside the scope of Misplaced Pages. If Misplaced Pages is to have an article about this topic, there need to be reliable third-party sources. There are very few Google hits for the word "Jesusian", mostly from blogs and the like - so it doesn't meet the inclusion guidelines.) - Mike Rosoft (talk) 09:02, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
