Momoiro Clover Z (ももいろクローバーZ, Momoiro Kurōbā Zetto, lit. "Pink Clover Z") is a Japanese female idol group. It currently consists of 5 members.
The group was originally named Momoiro Clover and is also referred to as Momoclo (ももクロ) for short. It is nicknamed "Weekend Heroines" (週末ヒロイン, Shūmatsu Heroin) for performing on weekends (on weekdays its members are at school).

History
2008–2009
The group was formed on 17 May 2008 during Stardust Agency's audition event for 3-B Jr. After a number of line-up changes, Momoiro Clover made their debut on August 5, 2009 with their first indie single "Momoiro Punch". Shortly after this, Momoka Ariyasu was added to the group.
2010
In early 2010, Momoiro Clover was signed to the major label Universal Records but soon left. In the second half of the year, they signed to King Records.
2011
In 2011, sub-leader Akari Hayami (blue) stated that she had decided to graduate down from the group. She graduated from the group on April 10. The group changed its name to Momoiro Clover Z after her departure. The group mentions her absence in the song "Z Legend: Endless Revolution". The "announcer" shouts out "Blue!" with no response.
On Christmas Day, December 25, 2011, Momoiro Clover Z performed at Saitama Super Arena to a sold-out crowd of 10,000, their largest to date.
2012
On June 25, 2012, Momoiro Clover Z took part in Yubi Matsuri, an idol festival produced by Rino Sashihara from AKB48. The concert was held at Nippon Budokan before a crowd of 8,000 people and featured such girl groups as Idoling!!!, Shiritsu Ebisu Chūgaku, Super Girls, Tokyo Girls' Style, Nogizaka46, Passpo, Buono!, and Watarirouka Hashiritai 7.
It is confirmed that Momoiro Clover Z will sing the theme song to the new Sailor Moon anime coming Summer 2013.
