Proposed deletion of Thomas Indrebø

The article Thomas Indrebø has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A lay judge is not notable. Someone known for one thing is notable per WP:ONEEVENT.

While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Reverted

I've reverted you're edits to the Socialist Left Party (Norway) and the Audun Lysbakken article... He was a self-declared Marxist, he retracted those views in 2011... Secondly, a Marxist is not synonymous with Communist.... Einar Gerhardsen, the longest-serving Prime Minister of Norway, was a self-declared Marxist until his death in the 1980s and he was never a Communist; he was, however, a social democrat... Thirdly, social democracy was, in the beginning at least, a Marxist movement.. Claiming that Lysbakken is a communist because of his statement that he is a Marxist is proof of you're lack of knowledge on this topic.. --TIAYN (talk) 16:07, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

OK, but then I can add him in the Marxist category, then? Zaminamina (talk) 16:12, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
Former Marxists or something I guess.... --TIAYN (talk) 16:54, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

Baroudeur

You recently added to the infobox of a Danish cyclist that he is a "Rider type: Baroudeur". Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is a "baroudeur"? --Christomir (talk) 14:02, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 21

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Handball referee, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Handball (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Audun Lysbakken

Hello. Regarding the COI tag. Will you put up a note on the talk page to clarify what the problem is ?

"The editor who adds the tag must address the issues on the talk page, pointing to specific issues that are actionable within the content policies."

Thank you. Regards, Iselilja (talk) 22:58, 23 February 2013 (UTC)

Oh, I apologise. I will explain tomorrow. Zaminamina (talk) 23:19, 23 February 2013 (UTC)

Proposed deletions of Kenyan Governor Candidates

Noticed that you flagged some pages for deletion. Would probably wait at least one week before doing so since the elections will be held on 4 March 2013. Flagging for deletion would discourage other users from adding to wikipedia which should act as a source of information that can easily be contributed to. Any formatting improvements may make it easier for others to add information and would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. Thanks for your concern, but we have some notability requirements that you should read. Zaminamina (talk) 15:12, 28 February 2013 (UTC)

Rollback

After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback can be used to revert vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback may be removed at any time.

If you do not want rollback, then contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some information on how to use rollback, you can view this page. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, just leave me a message on my talk page if you have any questions. Happy editing! Malinaccier (talk) 21:41, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

Also:

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges. A full list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on will be at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Incorrect revert (IMHO)

Hi, I saw you reverted my edits, but please watch the edit summary: http://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Category:Languages_of_the_Netherlands&diff=prev&oldid=541602187 . I added the cat to Wikidata, so the interwikis can be removed Droadnaegel (talk) 22:40, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for March 2

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ottoman–Persian War (1775–1779), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Shah of Persia (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). DRN case

Hi. You said a few days ago that you were going to mediate in the Microsoft Office 2013 case, but you've not yet started a discussion, and some of the participants are starting to get impatient. Do you still intend to take the lead in this case or should another volunteer take over? (If you do want to continue, it might be a good idea to say when you expect to be ready to start.) CarrieVS (talk) 19:27, 2 March 2013 (UTC)

I will proceed once all parties have indicated that they are active. I have posted a opening question/request to all parties and notified them all, but unfortunately only two of them have answered until now. Zaminamina Eh Eh Waka Waka Eh Eh 20:03, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
Hello, Mina. Sometimes, it is best to ignore some comments rather than responding them with a threat of closing the discussion. May I remind you that if you closed the case, the only people who are hurt are me, Sonicscrewdriver and Greg? Dogmaticeclectic actually desires the closure of the discussion and FleetCommand does not seem to care.
In the meantime, it seems your last message is targeted towards two editors: One that you have referred to as "you" and the other "Dogmaticeclectic". I do not know who do you mean by "you" but if you meant FleetCommand, it is best to assume good faith. FleetCommand's message is referring to Argument from silence or Misplaced Pages:Silence and consensus and therefore is not impolite until you decide to assume it so. It is possible that he was advising Dogmaticeclectic to reconsider his decision to withdraw his statement, lest a consensus against his favor is formed.
Best regards,

I don't disagree with your warning this user, but you should be aware that Munch died in 1944, so BLP doesn't really apply. --John (talk) 20:23, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

On Huggle it says "inappropriate biographical content" - no mention of the person in question being dead or alive ;) Zaminamina Eh Eh Waka Waka Eh Eh 20:41, 3 March 2013 (UTC)
If you're going to use Huggle, you should at least read what the messages it generates say. You posted a message that links to WP:BLP, so presumably it should be reserved for articles where that is a consideration. --John (talk) 21:26, 3 March 2013 (UTC)
I apologise if the warning I posted is a BLP warning. I'll notify the Huggle developers too, maybe they'll add a "living person" notice to the warning as it reads in Huggle. Zaminamina Eh Eh Waka Waka Eh Eh 15:03, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for your attention. --John (talk) 21:50, 4 March 2013 (UTC)

Brett French

That only became an attack page because of IP vandalism, so it didn't need deleting. I have reverted it to the last good version. Cheers, JohnCD (talk) 16:41, 4 March 2013 (UTC)

Incorrect proposed speedy deletion of Female reproduction

Hello, I noticed that you tagged Female reproduction with a speedy deletion tag for category A7, "No indication of importance (individuals, animals, organizations, web content, events)". This is an incorrect tag as this article is about a topic that does not require notability and is not covered by A7 i.e. it is not an article about an individual, an animal, an organization, web content, event or musical recording. In future, please check the details at WP:SPEEDY. Thanks. 2.98.240.175 (talk) 21:23, 24 March 2013 (UTC)

Please comment on Talk:Ugg boots trademark disputes

Per the WP:RFC and WP:FRS guidelines, I respectfully request your feedback regarding a question of law.

Should the Ugg boots trademark disputes article include example cases of counterfeit consumer goods? Is the counterfeiting of brand name goods a "trademark dispute" when the counterfeiters are taken to court? Also, an editor has claimed that the introduction of example cases of counterfeiting "dilute" the discussion about whether the word "UGG" is a generic term, and therefore ineligible for trademark protection.

Please respond to the survey here with "Support" if you believe counterfeiting is a trademark dispute when taken to court, or "Oppose" if you believe the reverse is true. Thank you. Phoenix and Winslow (talk) 12:35, 30 March 2013 (UTC)

Regarding page moves

FYI, this is not the proper way to move pages, please refer to WP:RM. If you just copypaste, all page history gets messed up. As for the semantic issue, Labour Party and Party of Labour are not identitical, and it is an established pattern to translate Arbeiderpartiet as 'Labour Party'. --Soman (talk) 20:09, 20 April 2013 (UTC)

Please STOP

Please see WP:OR.....and Cheers, Huldra (talk) 20:15, 20 April 2013 (UTC)

This is not original research, it is an accurate translation of "Arbeiderpartiet". "Arbeider" in Norwegian can be translated to "Worker", whereas "Labour" means "Arbeid", or "Work", in Norwegian. "Labour party" would then literally mean in Norwegian "Party of Labour".

Most other foreign parties that have had their names translated as "Labour Party" have a name that can be directly translated into labour, like:

Sukk. Les WP:OR.
