getTV is an upcoming American digital multicast television network that will focus its programming on feature films. The network will be owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment, and will be available in the United States through the digital subchannels of broadcast television stations, as well as on select cable systems.

The network will compete with This TV, Me-TV, Antenna TV and Movies!, similarly-formatted networks whose primary sources of programming are also composed of feature films and also mixed classic TV show and film channel, Cozi TV.

Background

Sony Pictures Entertainment announced the formation of getTV on April 22, 2013, with a planned launch that fall. Sony Pictures already maintains a distribution deal with Tribune Broadcasting's Antenna TV, which allows that network to carry films from the Sony library, in addition to series that the company holds rights to.

Affiliates

Univision Communications plans to launch getTV in 24 markets served by a station owned by the group (the agreement give getTV affiliates in 17 of the 20 largest media markets in the United States); although it will be carried on Univision's stations (which are affiliated with Spanish language networks), the channel will be broadcast in English. The network will also seek carriage on the digital subchannels of television stations aligned with other television station owners.
