Health Systems Management describes the leadership and general management of hospitals or health systems (networks of hospitals and/or other care providers). The term contrasts with ] in that the latter describes management of information systems (see, for example, ]). The term is considered to be synonymous with medical and health services management.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, a master's degree is the "standard credential" for these roles.
