| * Hello. I just read the the policy and guidelines at ], and like you, I disagree with them - especially the part about large geographic locations. However, I don't see this being changed even if I did start a thread about it. I've noticed that a lot of people in power on the site are set in their ways, so I guess it'd be pointless. Consensus was reached five or six years ago that we were not to link common terms in our articles or infoboxes. I want you to know that I disagreed with that change and I thought it was shortsighted and reduced the power of our links to assist readers. However, once that consensus was reached I learned to live with it and found other ways to edit constructively here. Please be aware that if you continue with linking these items your editing could be construed as disruptive or WP:POINTy and I would not want that to happen. You could try to alter the policy by starting a thread at Misplaced Pages:Village pump (policy) or at Misplaced Pages talk:Manual of Style/Linking because "consensus can change". I know that this message will probably cause offense to you and I apologize for that because that is not my intention.
