Re: GA

Hi, RRD13, as promised/threatened on my talk page, I've created a page over at the recruitment centre: Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Good articles/Recruitment Centre/Recruiter Central/Archives/Royroydeb. Please go over there and take a look, so we can move onto the quiz. Thanks. Also, you should know that it's not necessary to blank your talk page; actually, it's discouraged, so that other editors can access the discussion if they needed. For example, I had to start a whole new section to continue our discussion. Please let me know how I can assist you in any way. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 15:55, 26 September 2013 (UTC)

September 2013

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Tommy Spurr may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Couple of things

about your edits to Scott Dann. First, please don't remove {{citation needed}} or any other maintenance tags without either doing the work required, or explaining in an edit summary why you think the tag is no longer needed. Second, if a stats table has "as of match played <date>" above it, that means the stats in the table are correct up to and including the match played on that date. Neither Dann nor his club played a match on the date you changed it to. Thank you for your understanding. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 08:07, 27 September 2013 (UTC)

Good articles

Please read Misplaced Pages:Good article criteria and have a look over articles thoroughly before nominating them for Good article status. Your recent nominations of V. V. S. Laxman, Shikhar Dhawan, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ian Bell have not considered the criteria: all four have significant referencing and prose issues. Harrias 12:04, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article West Ham United F.C. you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. WikiCup 2013 September newsletter

In 30 days, we will know the identity of our 2013 WikiCup champion. Wales Cwmhiraeth (submissions) currently leads; if that lead is held, she will become the first person to have won the WikiCup twice. Canada Sasata (submissions), Australia Hawkeye7 (submissions)—who has never participated in the competition before—and New South Wales Casliber (submissions) follow. The majority of points in this round have come from a mix of good articles and bonus points. This final round is seeing contributions to a number of highly important topics; recent submissions include Phoenix (constellation) (FA by Casliber), Ernest Lawrence (GA by Hawkeye7), Pinniped, and red fox (both GAs by Sasata).

The did you know (DYK) eligibility criteria have recently changed, meaning that newly passed good articles are accepted as "new" for did you know purposes. However, in the interests of not changing the WikiCup rules mid-competition, please note that only articles eligible for DYK under the old system (that is, newly created articles or 5x expansions) will be eligible for points in this year's WikiCup. We do, however, have time to discuss how this new system will work for next year's competition; a discussion will be opened in due course. On that note, thoughts are welcome on changes you'd like to see for next year. What worked? What didn't work? What would you like to see more of? What would you like to see less of? All Wikipedians, new or old, are also warmly invited to sign up for the 2014 WikiCup.

If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Reviews. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to reduce the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Misplaced Pages talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Disambiguation link notification for October 2

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Demarai Gray, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Lee Clark (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 13:29, 2 October 2013 (UTC)

Everton

Hello, and thanks for asking. If you have a proper look at the page, you'll see that the copying is the other way about: My Everton News have copied from Misplaced Pages. The reference numbers are still in there, though they don't link to anything, and at the very bottom of the page they attribute their source to Misplaced Pages. Websites are allowed to copy off Misplaced Pages so long as they attribute the source and so long as they don't claim the content as their own copyright. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 16:07, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Thomas Babington Macaulay, 1st Baron Macaulay

The article Thomas Babington Macaulay, 1st Baron Macaulay you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Thomas Babington Macaulay, 1st Baron Macaulay for things which need to be addressed. Propesed deletion of List of Indian footballers to have played in foreign clubs

The list is notable as it features players who have played for the Indian national team. Moreover, almost one players have their articles created in Misplaced Pages. All players have made their debut in the I-league. This page mentions such players as notable. Therefore, they are notable. And I have provided references. Moreover, No article can be deleted due to no citations. Please see here. Thank you, please from now on consult thse articles before making such fu****g proposals.. TheProudEditor (talk) 08:27, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

Re the above

Hello, and thanks for asking. If an article has previously been created and deleted via AfD, as a version of this was at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/List of Indian footballers who have played for foreign clubs, it can be tagged for speedy deletion as a repost, see WP:CSD#G4. If the reviewing admin agrees that it is "a sufficiently identical and unimproved copy" of the previously deleted page, they'll delete it and it saves having to go through the PROD/AfD process.

If an article has been repeatedly created under the same name, an admin can protect that name from being recreated, see WP:SALT, but that doesn't stop it reappearing under a new name. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 09:02, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

Career stats tables

Hi, thanks for adding a career stats table at Tom Cairney, and for referencing it. However, when adding tables in the future could you ensure they meet the layout displayed at Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Football/Players#Career statistics, which is the WP:FOOTY MOS for player articles. The areas where your table needs improving are using FA Cup and League Cup columns as this player has played in England (albeit that is not included in the WP:FOOTY table), not using a Continental column as this player has never played in a continental competition, en dashes for season ranges, dividing the divisions into separate cells and adding a subtotal for Hull City. Cheers, Mattythewhite (talk) 11:38, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

Where a player had a loan spell with a club he subsequently joined permanently I include both spells in one subtotal, like with the York City spells at this table. Cheers, Mattythewhite (talk) 15:01, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
