Mataano ("Twins" in the Somali language) is a women's fashion line. Founded in 2008 by Somali American twin sisters Ayaan and Idyl Mohallim, it specializes in contemporary read-to-wear pieces.

Founders

The Mohallin twins were raised in Washington DC and moved to New York after graduation to become fashion designers. They garnered the attention of Oprah Winfrey under a piece titled Milionaire Moguls and also begun donating proceeds to educational facilities. Ayaan is more focused on micromanaging and marketing, while Idyl is more involved in production.
