Kanako Momota (百田 夏菜子, Momota Kanako) (born July 12, 1994) is a Japanese idol singer. She is known as the leader and member of the female musical group Momoiro Clover Z. Her Momoiro Clover Z image color is Red.
Biography
Kanako Momota was born on July 12, 1994, in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. When she was in 5th grade of elementary school (she was 10 or 11), she applied for, and won an audition advertised on the magazine De☆View. That was held by her present office Stardust, inc. In spring 2008, Kanako Momota became a member of Momoiro Clover. In November 2008, she replaced Reni Takagi as the leader of the group. In March 2011, it was announced that Kanako Momota would appear in Mika Ninagawa's cosplay photoshoot series in the fashion magazine Zipper.
Acrobatics
Momoiro Clover's concerts feature lots of acrobatics. Kanako's speciality is a so-called "shrimp jump", which she performs during the song "Ikuze! Kaitō Shōjo".
On October 4, 2013, she failed to complete the jump and fell on her rear. The incident cause a stir among fans and was widely reported by the Japanese media. Kanako was not injured.
