Is "idiotic" really the right word to use? Cloudbound (talk) 23:21, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- I appreciate your response, but "idiotic" wasn't the right word to use. Cloudbound (talk) 23:24, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- Still, wasn't idiotic. Cheers, Cloudbound (talk) 23:26, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- Considering you've added back in all my additions, albeit with the reference added as an extra, I'm struggling to see what the problem was. Seems like it wasn't all that bad. The article's improved, so I'm happy. Cloudbound (talk) 00:48, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
Problem with The Venus Project article
Hi Lisa,
I have a little problem and basically I don't understand the situation. I'd like to keep material presenting purposes of this organization sourced from its website, but some user reverts me and doesn't reply on talk. Maybe I'm wrong? What should I do now?
Regards, --Rezonansowy (talk • contribs) 13:27, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hi. I know nothing about The Venus Project and what I read there is out of my area of specialty. Please take your case to WP:DR. But Earl King Jr. is engaged in blanket reverting, which is edit warring. I'd stop if I were him.
- Best regards,
- Codename Lisa (talk) 23:17, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

Re Your warning on my talk page...
Just so you know, I have only reverted twice so your warning is premature. Also, I was removing a file based on consensus that was established at ]. This is an exemption to the WP:3RR rule, see point 5. The other editors do not agree with the outcome (but oddly never went to WP:NFCR to discuss). I will revert one more time, removing the file per consensus. If you feel that I am still edit-warring, please feel free to revert the consensus and report my actions. Do, though, remember that the WP:3RR rule applies only when more than 3 reverts are made to the same page in 24-hours. Cheers. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 20:34, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
- I'm done with your malformed discussion. You are twisting policy and muddying process to get your way and you are trying to make it look like you take the high road. The talkpage discussion was flawed from the start. If you wanted a discussion about the content, and its use, then that's what you should've started the conversation about, even though a consensus was already established. You've accused me of edit warring multiple times, and you've tried to use my accused editwarring to further your opinion that images should be kept. You've tried to use your accusation as a basis to overrule consensus of WP:NFCR. I outlined the process you should have taken, but you refuse. I have not edit warred. If you believed that I had, you should have taken it to WP:ANEW. You didn't. So your problem isn't with my accused editwarring, its with the fact that you don't agree with consensus. I honestly don't care about the inclusion either way of images, but I do care about policy, and process. Those images violate WP:NFCC, a fact supported by consensus. Even if your terrible construed talk page discussion was considered in consensus, there is no refute to the fact that the images violate WP:NFCC. It is the burden of those wishing to include the files to show evidence that the images meet all points of WP:NFCC, plain and simple. Your continued accusations of editwarring, without taking it to WP:ANEW, and your accusation of battleground mentality, is plain harassment and I politely request you stop. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 17:18, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- TL;DR. Adhere to WP:EW. No regards whatsoever, Codename Lisa (talk) 17:21, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- Of course you cannot be bothered to read it, because it shows where you erred. I have adhered to the policy, I reverted appropriately per WP:3RRNO#5 with a policy backed consensus at WP:NFCR. You should adhere to WP:EW if you are going to accuse me: plop a warning on my talk page (which you did) then take to WP:ANEW if it continues (I reverted again, but you didn't take it further). -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 17:55, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- That's I am afraid shooting yourself in the foot because the rest of the sentence you quoted says:
What counts as exempt under NFCC can be controversial, and should be established as a violation first. Consider reporting to the Misplaced Pages:Non-free content review noticeboard instead of relying on this exemption.
- Since it is reported to NFCR, hence this exemption was forfeited in the first place. It even writes the word "unquestionably" in boldface; yet, it appears the fact that both NFCR and the revert has questioned it (once by requesting a 2O and one by disagreeing) has never dawned on you.

- I deny having started the discussion to overturn NFCR; if I wanted to do that, I'd have gone to proper venue for doing so. The discussion was started to stop the edit warring. But I am done repeating this fact over and over again. It is evident that you have set your mind on vilifying me. If there is something worse than edit warring, sir, that's your temper of a nuclear bomb, which overturned my conception of you from that of a esteemed user to that of an uncivil edit warrior.
- Now, if that's all, I hope you'll excuse me. Codename Lisa (talk) 18:18, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

SkyDrive
Hi,
Thanks for telling me about your revert of my 2 edits to SkyDrive. Although you gave an extensive explanation regarding your revert of my edit dated 16:16, 14 February 2014, you gave no explanation for reverting my 15:54, 14 February 2014 edit.
Please restore my 15:54, 14 February 2014 edit.
Thanks, --Rich Janis (talk) 05:25, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, I was similarly persuaded by user Fleet Command, and was just about to suggest to you that any restoration of my edit include words such as the parenthetical that you wrote. Thanks, --Rich Janis (talk) 00:39, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
VisualEditor Newsletter—February 2014
Did you know? You can easily re-use references by going to the Insert menu, choosing "Reference", and clicking on "Use an existing reference" in the lower left corner. A list of all references, their numbers, and their ref names (if any) will be shown. You can search the list for any author, title, date, or other keyword. Read the user guide for more information.
Since the last newsletter, the VisualEditor team has worked on some small changes to the user interface, such as moving the reference item to the top of the Insert menu, as well as some minor features and fixing bugs, especially for rich copying and pasting of references.
The biggest change was the addition of more features to the image dialog, including the ability to set alignment (left, right, center), framing options (thumbnail, frame, frameless, and none), adding alt text, and defining the size manually. There is still some work to be done here, including a quick way to set the default size.
- The main priority is redesigning the reference dialog, with the goal of providing autofill features for ISBNs and URLs and streamlining the process. Current concept drawings are available at mw:VisualEditor/Design/Reference Dialog. Please share your ideas about making referencing quick and easy with the designers.
- A few bugs in the existing reference dialog were fixed. The toolbar was simplified to remove galleries and lists from the reference dialog. When you re-use references, it now correctly displays the references again, rather than just the number and name. If you paste content into a dialog that can't fit there (e.g.
==section headings==
in references), it now strips out the inappropriate HTML. - You can now edit image galleries inside VisualEditor. At this time, the gallery tool is a very limited option that gives you access to the wikitext. It will see significant improvements at a later date.
- The character inserter tool in the "Insert" menu is being redesigned. Your feedback on the special character inserter is still wanted, especially if you depend on Misplaced Pages's character inserters for your normal editing rather than using the ones built into your computer.
- You can now see a help page about keyboard shortcuts in the page menu (three bars next to the Cancel button) (Template:Bug).
- If you edit categories, your changes will now display correctly after saving the page (Template:Bug).
- Saving the page should be faster now (Template:Bug).
- Any community can ask to test a new tool to edit TemplateData by leaving a note at Template:Bug.
Looking ahead: The link tool will tell you when you're linking to a disambiguation or redirect page. The warning about wikitext will hide itself after you remove the wikitext markup in that paragraph. Support for creating and editing redirects is in the pipeline. Looking further out, image handling will be improved, including default and upright sizes. The developers are also working on support for viewing and editing hidden HTML comments, some behavioral magic words like DISPLAYTITLE, and in-line language setting (dir="rtl"
).
If you have questions or suggestions for future improvements, or if you encounter problems, please let everyone know by posting a note at Misplaced Pages:VisualEditor/Feedback. Thank you! Whatamidoing (WMF) 04:21, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
My logic
Office Web Apps refer to the apps themselves (why would they introduce Office Web Apps Server for Office 2013 if they knew they would be re-branded). I'm operating under the basis that Office Online is basically the "new" Windows Live (as Outlook.com/the like are included in it as well). They just re-branded the consumer-facing version of it as Office Online (previously known as Windows Live Office, and Office Web Apps in SkyDrive). ViperSnake151 Talk 03:57, 21 February 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for February 25
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited PotPlayer, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page AVI (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Making sure everything is fine between us
On December 6 last year I made an edit to the article Microsoft Security Essentials which you reverted the same day. That same day I reverted your edit, and on December 8 you got rid of the apostrophe I added. On March 3 I added that apostrophe back, explaining that since it is AV-Comparatives' bronze award it was accurate to have the apostrophe.
Then on December 10 I made an edit to the article List of Microsoft Windows components which you reverted the same day. I then reverted your edit the same day. The next day, you made an edit removing some of the periods in the article. After doing some additional research I discovered that in fact I had been wrong as I read that in a table, sentence fragments should not have a period. So I apologize for that. Later on March 3, I made another edit adding two periods to two sentences. In that case, each sentence which didn't have a period was after another sentence which did have a period.
I do respect you as an editor. Your user page and talk page are both on my watchlist and I've been monitoring your contributions lately. That's actually how I've found some articles I wanted to read and how I've come across some of the errors I've fixed.
Lastly I want to let you know that I came across the article Criticism of Windows 7 which I'm not sure warrants having its own user page. When I checked it was a stub. I decided to bring this up just in case you wanted to merge the contents of the article into the Windows 7 article or something. Jesant13 (talk) 19:12, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
- Hello, Jesant13
- Everything is fine between us; you are one of the loveliest Misplaced Pages editors that I have ever seen. Now you asked a couple of things, I am going to answer them one by one.
- Normal reverting is not an act of hostility in Misplaced Pages; it is part of its rapidly evolving ecosystem. We usually stick to WP:BRD: A contributor makes a bold contribution, a reviewer reverts if it was problematic and supplies a good edit summary. If the contributor wasn't satisfied with the edit summary, they discuss the matter. So, whenever you are not satisfied with my reverts, please don't be shy and drop me a note about your concern. I'll be glad to negotiate with such a nice person as you.
- Apostrophe is only used when a possessive relation is established. For example, "door's bell" means a bell that is installed within a door. "AV-Comparatives' award" means awards that AV-Comparatives itself has won from someone else (not awards that AV-Comparatives presents to the winner). "Microsoft's Word" means a copy of Word that is licensed to Microsoft. But when two words come together without apostrophe, they form a noun adjunct. For example "door bell" is the bell related to the door (i.e. connected to it) but not part of it. "AV-Comparatives award" is the award the AV-Comparatives presents. "Microsoft Word" is a whole trademark of Microsoft.
- Criticism of Windows 7 is too small and has near-zero chance of being expanded with unique contents. I'll just be bold merge it into Windows 7. Hopefully, no one will revert me, but if he did, I'll talk to him.
- Best regards,
- Codename Lisa (talk) 07:34, 8 March 2014 (UTC)
