September 2012

Hello, Charlescorm. We welcome your contributions to Misplaced Pages, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Misplaced Pages, you may need to consider our guidance on conflicts of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Misplaced Pages's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Misplaced Pages article or website of your organization in other articles (see Misplaced Pages:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Misplaced Pages's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Misplaced Pages when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. The Bushranger One ping only 06:57, 7 September 2012 (UTC)

Your article submission Inco Capital

Hello Charlescorm. It has now been over six months since you last edited your article submission, entitled Inco Capital.

If you no longer want this submission, it will shortly be deleted. However, if you wish to keep it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Misplaced Pages talk:Articles for creation/Inco Capital}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will place the undeleted submission in your user space.

Thanks for your submission to Misplaced Pages, and happy editing. j⚛e decker 18:34, 8 June 2013 (UTC)

Information icon Hello and welcome to Misplaced Pages. When you add content to talk pages and Misplaced Pages pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

--Charlescorm (talk) 09:31, 1 October 2013 (UTC)== Please restore the Corm Capital page so that I can correct it ==

Dear Wiki and Darkwind,

I just discovered this page and took notice of G11, G12 and G2 regarding the Corm Capital page.

Please let me correct the article AND/OR suggest a way of getting it back/undoing the deletion of a perfectly legitimate Misplaced Pages subject.

THANK YOU!

Charles Corm

Information icon Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Misplaced Pages, as you did to Charles Corm, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 06:15, 2 October 2013 (UTC)

Please help me to integrate a reference template to list article refs on the "Charles Corm" page. Thanks

I just can't get it to work. Any help is much appreciated!

Charles Corm (the grandson)

Hmm. I honestly can't see why it wouldn't be working. Let me try to fiddle with it a bit... sometimes invisible characters sneak in, or something. Thanks for adding the references! --bonadea contributions talk 09:09, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
Ah ha! The error message also shows up if a <ref> tag doesn't have a matching </ref> - one of the closing </ref>s had a ( instead of a < , and once that was fixed the list of references showed up. Cheers, --bonadea contributions talk 09:15, 2 October 2013 (UTC)

Thanks! Much much much appreciated! Charles

Your user page

I saw on another page that you would like to erase your user page, User:Charlescorm.

If you want to edit or "blank" your user page, you may do so at any time. You may also request that it be deleted by replacing its content with {{db-user}}. See {{db-user}} for the documentation for this template.

You may also consider instead just adding {{user page|noindex=yes}} to the top of the page. This will tell search engines not to index it. See {{user page}} for the documentation and other options for this template. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 17:42, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi, please don't add promotional text to your user page - please see this information about what you can and cannot have on your user page. I have removed the inappropriate content. Thank you, --bonadea contributions talk 17:00, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

USER NAME CHANGE - URGENT

--GOODKARMA 11:47, 1 March 2014 (UTC)Hi, I need to change my user name from Charlescorm to "GOODKARMA". I did in the signature part of my account but like all things on Misplaced Pages (no offense) have no idea if it worked. My current user name is my REAL name so I am getting harassed by people! Please help me change all my ID info to GOODKARMA. And please let me know how to keep my communications on Misplaced Pages PRIVATE as they appear on Google which is for the least... annoying!

Thank you and have a great day! GOODKARMA

Hi Goodkarma - to change your user name, go to Misplaced Pages:Changing username and read the information there, and then request a username change here. As for keeping conversations private, nothing we post to Misplaced Pages is ever private, unfortunately. You can remove almost anything that's posted to your user page or user talk page, though. Regards, --bonadea contributions talk 12:26, 1 March 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for March 7

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Misplaced Pages appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Lebanese by net worth, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page George Joseph (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

COI edits

Dear Bcd3174, please stop making edits that favour particular people where there is a conflict of interest for you. I do not question the notability or importance of the person in question (since you don't want Google to find discussions involving the person's name I won't mention it, but we both know who it is), and I have found it extremely interesting and rewarding to find out more about him. But it is becoming apparent that your edits to Misplaced Pages are mainly about promoting this person, for instance by inserting his name under several sections of List of Lebanese people - each person should be listed in one section, and if a person fits several categories, you pick the most fitting one. Please make sure that you never make edits about the person in question that you would not make about a person you have no connection with. It would also be good if you made sure that POV terms that are periodically added to the article about him are removed, since I assume that you keep the article on your watchlist and can see when various IPs make those unconstructive edits. Thanks, --bonadea contributions talk 11:18, 15 March 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for your message on my user talk page. If you had checked the history of the page you would have noticed that I have made no edits to the page, except to restore maintenance templates which were removed without resolving the issues. Please remember to be civil, and please provide the source for the list. If you researched the list yourself I applaud your efforts, but unfortunately that would make the article original research. Please contribute to the discussion on the article's talk page instead of posting to user talk pages, where fewer efitors will see them. Thank you, --bonadea contributions talk 18:18, 16 March 2014 (UTC)

Please stop adding unsourced content. This contravenes Misplaced Pages's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Misplaced Pages. Please provide sources for your information. The edits you reverted were all explained in edit comments, whereas your revert was completely unexplained. You also removed a source with your revert, and you reinserted a person who has been dead for a long time. bonadea contributions talk 18:43, 16 March 2014 (UTC)

Information icon Please do not attack other editors, as you did on User talk:Bonadea. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Acroterion (talk) 17:02, 21 March 2014 (UTC)

Bonadea has never been less than exemplary, as far as I can see, in his interactions with you, and has politely requested that you provide sources. Acroterion (talk) 17:06, 21 March 2014 (UTC)

--GOODKARMA 17:18, 21 March 2014 (UTC)"Bonadea has never been less than exemplary"?!!! Are you joking or what? And who are you anyway? His lawyer? Please and I ask you this kindly read my comments again. I cannot dissociate content from contributors when one of the contributors is treating my work (and hence my person) like a pile of shit! I trust you understand... Regards. Bcd3174.

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at List of Lebanese by net worth shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Sionk (talk) 11:19, 1 April 2014 (UTC)
