Santhosh Pandit is a Malayalam film actor, director and an internet celebrity. He is known for his abnormal behaviour in public and exploiting shock value from his inferior quality films (both financially and critically),most notably his debut film Krishnanum Radhayum in which he appeared in the lead role and handled almost all the major departments of the film.The movie is currently known to be the worst malayalam film ever

Personal life

Santhosh was born in Peruvannamuzhi village and was brought up in Kozhikode city. He went to school at Chellannur AKKR High School and the Government Arts College. After his parents died, he inherited three houses, one of which he sold to raise funds for his first film.He is divorced and has a son Navajyoth Pandit.

Career

Santosh Pandit's first movies Krishnanum Radhayum, which got released on 21 October 2011, became an unexpected crowd puller and saw success in theaters. Some critics attribute the moderate success of the film to the general curiosity after the unprecedented abuses and negative comments posted on the YouTube clips related to the songs in the film. Pandit is credited as an actor, director, script-writer, music director, lyric writer, editor and playback singer in the film and he stands a chance for entering record books for the maximum credits for a single person in a released film. His second film was, "Superstar Santhosh Pandit", where he again handled all the major departments in production. Unlike his first movie, his second movie was a disaster in the box-office and with public.

He is presently working as an overseer in irrigation department, government of kerala .

Awards

For handling eight departments of the film from direction to acting, Pandit received the 2011 Ekalavya Karma Sreshta Award by Ekalavya Charitable Trust. The award was presented by veteran actor Madhu in the presence of Minister for Forests, Sports and Cinema of Kerala and actor K.B. Ganesh Kumar.

Santhosh Pandit, one among the 16 participants of the reality show, Malayali house, has turned to be one of the best. Apparently, while most of the other participants have been receiving brickbats from the viewers for their alleged undignified behaviour inside the 'Malayali House', Santhosh has been conducting himself well.

Controversies, Manipulation and Interference by Hosts and Inmates

The hosts of the show decided to invite public poll for eviction of housemates from the 5th week onward. But Santhosh Pandit, even though he was having the maximum audience support, got eliminated in the 4th week by the housemates. The audience of the show widely claim that this was a conspired move by hosts of the show, to evict Santhosh Pandit. The public support suggested that Santhosh is perhaps better than some of the other socially respected participants who have been exposed through the show. Later the makers of the show admitted that evicting Santhosh was a mistake.

Santhosh Pandit returns to Malayali House

Due to popular demand in the social media, Surya TV called back Santhosh Pandit as a wild-card entry to the Malayali House on 7 June 2013.
