Reloaded Games, through its predecessor, was the first recorded US-based company to introduce the concept of a Free2Play (aka Freemium) business model for massively multiplayer online games in North America and Europe in 2004. Knight Online was the first game launched by the company to operate using this business model. The company registered the trademark FREE2PLAY in 2005.
