A user wants to move ] to "Cabinet of Austria", which doesn't make any sense, is a crap translation, and isn't supported by reliable sources. Perhaps someone more familiar with Austrian politics might like to come over and comment. 03:20, 10 December 2014 (UTC) |

Hackers and Ponies Targeting Austrian Parties
Can someone expand on the hacking incidents targeting websites of Austrian political parties that involve My Little Pony characters right here? I feel that there's more than the incident that targeted SPÖ in 2011 and one targeted WKR in 2012. We need more than the two Kurier reports that we already cited. Also, as I can't understand German language after all, can anyone highlight which part of these ORF posts (1, 2, 3) to cite? JSH-alive/
Comment on the WikiProject X proposal
Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Misplaced Pages struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
Problems with "Gemeindekennziffer"?
Hello, greetings from WP:WikiProject Germany. Seems like some new "Gemeindekennziffern" in Styria, Austria are no longer supported or have been changed: see Category:Template:Metadata_Population/Error. Looks like the metadata for those towns is outdated and/or transmitted incorrectly - but I have little knowledge about templates and zero knowledge about metadata. Can someone more experienced look into the problem? It might also be related to template:Infobox Ort in Österreich. GermanJoe (talk) 15:39, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
- Tried, but failed … FDMS 4 20:51, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, tried the same on a different town, with the same result. The issue must be somewhere deeper either in the data or in the template handling of it (more wild guesses). GermanJoe (talk) 22:50, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
- Found one error, if any template editor wants to fix it. The sub-template Template:Get Austria location code still has the old name <-> key relations from 2013 hardcoded and needs to be updated in sync with the other lists (f.e. in Template:Metadata population AT-6). Alternatively the correct "Gemeindekennziffer" can be set as infobox parameter, but the parameter is "key = ", not "Gemeindekennziffer = ". See Allerheiligen im Mürztal, where i added this value as fix. (In this case area, population, and "date as of" should not be added manually) GermanJoe (talk) 17:49, 27 October 2014 (UTC)

Austrian castle database template
I've just created Template:Burgen-austria which produces a standard link to a comprehensive Austrian castles online database, "Burgen-austria", that is widely used on German Wiki and by other sources. --Bermicourt (talk) 18:04, 21 October 2014 (UTC)
Only Scandinavian goodness has positives about a certain Austrian author
An article about an Austrian author is being censored to the point where the only positive thing that gets said about him, is from a Norwegian person that gives his view of Handke deserving a Nobel Prize. --Leafingedge (talk) 11:18, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
Need more commenters at Austrian Federal Government
A user wants to move Talk:Austrian Federal Government to "Cabinet of Austria", which doesn't make any sense, is a crap translation, and isn't supported by reliable sources. Perhaps someone more familiar with Austrian politics might like to come over and comment. 03:20, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
