Now that you have been at the party, drunk you coctail, danced your dance, coversated airily and charmingly ... and after you removed your pearls and silk gown, will you tell me what shall I do with this picture. It's nice, want to use it. Hafspajen (talk) 10:55, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
- Yikes. Look what happens if one doesn't watch dog articles for a while... Floded with crappy pics. Hafspajen (talk) 11:14, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
::* ''Of note is this breed's keen sense for instinctive behavior. In particular, ] and hunting drives are more readily observable than in most other breeds. Classified as highly energetic, poodles can also get bored fairly easily, and have been known to get creative about finding mischief: they require walks, toys, and games of fetch regularly to remain happy.<ref>{{cite web|title=Poodle Temperament: What You Should Know About Poodle Personality|url=http://www.dog-info.org/poodle-temperament.html|publisher=http://www.dog-info.org/}}</ref> Poodles are highly trainable dogs that rarely need to be told what to do more than a few times and any of the three types will pass through an advanced obedience class with flying colours. Why was this removed and modified? Hafspajen (talk) 11:22, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
- You could try Detection dog and/or Dogs in warfare for the image. I think the paragraph about the Poodle is a bit gushy and some of the refs are blogs etc, so not suitable. Some of it that can be backed by decent sources could be re-written. SagaciousPhil - Chat 07:11, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, I do like that Rossetti painting; the model is Jane Morris, who he was supposed to be having an affair with and she featured in a lot of his paintings. The Day Dream was his last major work finished before he died. I think there may be enough information available to justify an article on the painting itself - but I want to work on expand Thomas Linley the elder so I can nominate his portrait first! SagaciousPhil - Chat 10:29, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
. I think we should write an article. Happy days with Linley - and his uggggly wife, Hafspajen (talk) 10:40, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, Mrs Linley is definitely not portrayed as a beauty! It might be a little while until I can do anything with The Day Dream - I think it's going to take some time to get Linley sorted out, as well as trying to keep on top of everything else (info boxes and templates are driving me crazy at the moment!!!). SagaciousPhil - Chat 11:46, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- WEll, then we wait. Holy crap. I meean since the Scottish has their own parlament ... what's the trouble? Hafspajen (talk) 12:13, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- It's horrendous, isn't it? If they are Scottish, then they are Scottish, surely? When the article was passed as a GA it read "Nationality Scottish" in the info box as do most Scottish biographies I've come across! SagaciousPhil - Chat 12:29, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- But WHY? Hafspajen (talk) 12:35, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- Goodness only knows ... SagaciousPhil - Chat 13:18, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- Can you explain this painting to me? Why is this guy sitting there depressed among ponies? File:Juan ramirez-san marcelo.jpgHafspajen (talk) 13:55, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hmm, sorry, I don't know ... SagaciousPhil - Chat 14:05, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- Odd. Hafspajen (talk) 14:39, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- I saw this (was reading this page when I saw the concerns that Sagaciousphil might not return to editing) and decided to do some sleuthing. I found an article on WP that seems to explain the horses, and I checked with a knowledgeable editor to confirm the connection between that article and the painting, and it seems I was right. See User talk:Esoglou#Painting. CorinneSD (talk) 16:10, 10 January 2015 (UTC)

- WEll, then we wait. Holy crap. I meean since the Scottish has their own parlament ... what's the trouble? Hafspajen (talk) 12:13, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- Well, than I go August Malmström - Dancing Fairies instead. Hafspajen (talk) 16:23, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- Nice painting! It's not covered in my Fairies in Victorian Art book though ... SagaciousPhil - Chat 16:32, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- Be ready, go live - 1, 2, 3.. Hafspajen (talk) 17:01, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hey, well done, Hafs, you're able to work much faster than I am! I was going to make a couple of edits to it but hit the dreaded edit conflicts - the main one is you need to change the title at the top of the (dare I mention the word? I'll just whisper ... ) infobox SagaciousPhil - Chat 17:14, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry, stopped. Hafspajen (talk) 17:35, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- Well, I just hit an edit conflict with someone else on it now ... I'm about to get dogs seen to so I'll leave you to it! SagaciousPhil - Chat 17:44, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- He stopped. Hafspajen (talk) 18:19, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- No, the party clothes have been put back in the wardrobe (for a couple of days anyway). Did you see the dog IP is back? See Belgian Shepherd Dog (Malinois). What a waste of time, maybe it would be better just to leave them all to get on with it? SagaciousPhil - Chat 20:38, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hm, actually that IP is not bothering me much. If he want medium to large .... actually Malinois as just as big as a German Shepherd, so it is not such a big problem. My gues it is a kid who wants to feel he can do something intelligent. I say we accept. Hafspajen (talk) 22:03, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- What I wonder, what is that collapsed dog doing in the infobox as lead pic? Hafspajen (talk) 22:05, 30 December 2014 (UTC).
- BUT the problem is that "medium to large" is not supported by the sources - refs state only "medium" so to state anything else is personal opinion and not supported. But, hey ho, as I said I don't care as it's pointless - the IP can change anything they want on dog articles now ... ... SagaciousPhil - Chat 22:20, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- Medium orignal res. No, not ANYTHING... but this was not all wrong.... Hafspajen (talk) 23:17, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- While the FCI and AKC standards do not give any classification of size, The Kennel Club lists it as "medium" - check under 'General appearance' in the breed standard. Dealing with this IP has now wasted more than enough of my time and I'm not going to generally check dog breed articles any more. SagaciousPhil - Chat 07:15, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
- OOPS. Sorry. We put that back, didn't knew it was THAt annoying. Hafspajen (talk) 08:23, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
- Dog back to medium, left note on talk page. Hafspajen (talk) 08:27, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
Happy New Year Sagaciousphil!
Happy New Year!Sagaciousphil,
Have a prosperous, productive and enjoyable New Year, and thanks for your contributions to Misplaced Pages. Hafspajen (talk) 10:03, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you, Hafs - I hope you have a wonderful time too. SagaciousPhil - Chat 10:08, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
- Very likely. What a pain in the as she looks like. Hafspajen (talk) 19:49, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
Bonus fireworks
- Wow, that's a lot of lovely fireworks, Hafs! Is that picture Corfu? It's certainly looks inviting ... SagaciousPhil - Chat 09:35, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, it is Corfu. Hafspajen (talk) 10:45, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
- I have been told Scottish people like fireworks. Hafspajen (talk) 13:57, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
- look who's here -> File:Lonsdale, James - Mrs Thomas Linley - Google Art Project.jpg ... Hafspajen (talk) 18:35, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
- She's not very attractive, is she? Maybe that's why Gainsborough never painted her and only did the father and children? SagaciousPhil - Chat 18:45, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
- Very likely. What a pain in the as she looks like. She probably used to hit him in the head with her slippes. She looks stubborn, unpleasant and unmovable. Hafspajen (talk) 19:49, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
Let's wish for a great 2015

- Thank you, Gareth! I hope you have a wonderful year too. SagaciousPhil - Chat 09:33, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
A little big but...
So I took pictures of my dogs for you and Haffy. Maybe not cute, but... a new year's gift for the two of you! — Crisco 1492 (talk) 17:21, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
- Aww, Crisco, thank you, they are so cute! Especially Thunder, what a lovely looking gentleman ...
- If you have a little bit of free time could you do me a favour, please? I had been working on Thomas Linley the elder with the intention of FP nominating the Gainsborough portrait of him - you know I like an article supporting any FP to be vaguely semi reasonable - the lead still needs to be sorted and I may not be around to do it, so would you mind having a look so Hafs can do the FP nomination? SagaciousPhil - Chat 22:11, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
- Sure. (Thunder may look the gentleman now, but when he was a pup his hobbies were catching thrown rocks and dirt) — Crisco 1492 (talk) 00:02, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, Crisco, that kind of reminds me of a bitch we bred years ago who was owned by someone that owned a large lake; fishermen were allowed to fish there if they paid a premium amount. The bitch used to love having stuff thrown and would place a stone (or whatever) on the ground beside someone and look up and down from stone to person expectantly. Any guys who paid to fish there used to spend more time throwing stones for her than they did fishing! Amazing how dogs manage to wrap anyone round their paws ... SagaciousPhil - Chat 00:17, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- Indeed. The cocker spaniel is skilled at that. Too skilled. It's scary. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 00:28, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for fixing Linley, Crisco, hopefully Hafs will nominate the painting as an FP now. Comments and attitude elsewhere on Misplaced Pages mean I'm not likely to be about much - Misplaced Pages does not want content editors. SagaciousPhil - Chat 06:28, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- Blasted day, no I am not nominating anything, you stay and don't give up. I am aware of this problem, and it goes back, way back to a series of articles, where this kind of content dispute was not conducted graciously. Try at least to find a solution. Try just get an interaction ban. This has been on long enough, you should not edit the same articles, because this was a problem that just went on and on and everybody is teared down by now, and there were no polite discussions. And in this case I don't mean Eric. As it is now you should not edit the same articles. Hafspajen (talk) 08:57, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- I seem to be missing something... — Crisco 1492 (talk) 13:15, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

Don't you leave, Phil! What are we going to do without you on all the projects you are needed?? Be serious. Hafspajen (talk) 11:43, 7 January 2015 (UTC)

Phil, Come back, don't leave
Hafspajen (talk) 10:07, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
Tikuko, Crisco 1492 and Yunshui are probably feeling just as me, that you should't - please don't leave. Hafspajen (talk) 10:31, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- Amen to that. I don't have any pretty pictures to offer as persuasion, but the 'pedia will be a worse place without you. Yunshui 水 11:32, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- Let's all have a cup of tea and talk about some fun things. I've brought plenty for us. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 20:06, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- Also, if you like architecture... I got a new tool, like Diliff has, so hopefully I can take stunning interior shots of churches and other houses of worship as well. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 21:19, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- I've just bought a magnificent book on the architecture of Casablanca- Casablanca: Colonial Myths & Architectural Ventures. Got no interest in the architecture of Casablanca- it's just a really nice book which shows the worth of good architectural photos. Xanthomelanoussprog (talk) 11:35, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
- Joining in the choir, can't give the sapphire you already have, but a bit of Geh aus, mein Herz, und suche Freud, about seeking joy when no joy is in sight, - promised myself to start that today, more on my talk, - well I see it was started but there will be more,— Preceding unsigned comment added by Gerda Arendt (talk • contribs)
