Information icon Hello and welcome to Misplaced Pages. When you add content to talk pages and Misplaced Pages pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 21:28, 19 April 2015 (UTC)

Problem with your signature

Per this edit you have been signing as 'Ron1978'. This doesn't meet the signature requirements at WP:SIGN. If you prefer to be known as Ron1978, why not ask for a change of user name at WP:CHU/S. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 17:38, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

It was an option when I was signing in and it seemed to be like a good idea in order not to have my talk page full of messages. Ron1978 (talk) 18:50, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
Are you serious? You want people to be unaware of your account name so they can't respond to you? EdJohnston (talk) 00:53, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

The idea was to respond to me, but in the talk pages of the articles that I was going to be writing and in relation to the articles that I was going to be writing and not in my talk page. it seemed to be a good idea at the time. Ron1978 (talk) 07:55, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

OK, I understand your thinking, but the Misplaced Pages guideline requires you to have a signature that contains a link. Per WP:SIGN, "Signatures must include at least one direct internal link to your user page, user talk page, or contributions page..." At present you sign as 'Ron1978' but in plain text, and that signature contains no link of any kind. Special:Preferences can fix this. EdJohnston (talk) 14:17, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

Ok, I will read the manual, and fix this one of these daysRon1978 (talk) 22:53, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

Hey Ron/Courtier, could you please fix your username in Special:Preferences or change it at WP:CHU/S? You have been notified of this for the last several months, as shown by the time stamps from above between yourself and EdJohnston. Cheers, Drcrazy102 (talk) 08:01, 14 October 2015 (UTC)

I have made a request now I am expecting an answerRon1978 (talk) 21:43, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

Ok, and remember to use the ~~~~. Cheers, Drcrazy102 (talk) 23:07, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

Dispute resolution noticeboard

Hi. I filed our dispute to WP:DRN. Please feel free to add your comment here. Best, --Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 13:12, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

About your rename

Hi Ron, just wanted to confirm some things first. The issue that's being raised doesn't concern your username, because your signature does not have to match your username. Rather, it's that your signature must have a link to one of your userpages. I quote from WP:SIGLINK:

Signatures must include at least one direct internal link to your user page, user talk page, or contributions page; this allows other editors easy access to your talk page and contributions log. The lack of such a link is widely viewed as obstructive.

It would be simpler on your part to simply restore links to your userpage/usertalk. Nevertheless, your rename is good to go, should you choose to go through with it. Let me know what you decide. bibliomaniac15 23:09, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

I think your suggestion is a good idea. How do I link my signature in my userpage/usertalk?Ron1978 (talk) 23:40, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

Can I do it from the preferences?Ron1978 (talk) (talk) 23:43, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

I think I have found it thanks.Ron1978 (talk) (talk) 23:44, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

Now you just need to tweak it a bit. Currently it reads as Ron1978 (talk) for your user page which is not quite there yet. It should say in the "Signatures" section Ron1978 which will affect the ~~~~ template which should then read as Ron1978 (talk when you sign a page. Hope this helps, Drcrazy102 (talk) 00:28, 16 October 2015 (UTC)

Cyprus

Thankyou for your message. Please however have all the discussion on the Cypr Emergency talkpage; I've moved your question there. Should you detect clear POVpushing at Cyprus-related articles (such as the dispute resolution page issue), please bring them to my attention. I note behaviour discussed on the dispute resolution page which appears to fall under WP:ARBMAC. Buckshot06 (talk) 20:59, 18 October 2015 (UTC)

Russia in World War I

Russia is Russia, regardless of whether it's called the Russian SFSR or the Russian Empire. Russia surrendered to the axis, end of story. Arguing Russia won WWI is ludicrous. --Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 14:19, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

Ludicrus is the fact that you are following me and deleting all my edits in everything. That is what is ludicrous. No one surrendered to no one. If they did, they wouldn't be able to continue with the inner civil war and their inner changesRon1978 (talk) 18:20, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

I don't care whatever reasoning you have behind claiming Russia won WWI. If you actually believe this nonsense, start with the main article before you lay hands on navigation aid. I'll revert your edit. --Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 18:25, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
