<nowiki>{{ping|Jim1138}} I am NOT a paid editor, just an staff employee of the business department, I only ADD to wikipedia, to correct incorrect info or to expand/elaborate or to add a new contribution. If you continue this BS I will never donate to wikipedia again, you will never see my $100 again. My mother is a lawyer so I understand fraud. A lot of info in this world is only available for primary consideration. I don't know where you went to school, but read my additions and google them.~~~~ |

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Trent University, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 05:32, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
Trent University
Misplaced Pages has a policy of wp:verifiability. wp:cite significant edits from wp:reliable sources (RS). Unsourced content may be removed. As you are employed by Trent, you have a wp:conflict of interest (Please read). Be very careful with your edits. Avoid any promotional, unsourced, information. See wp:What Misplaced Pages is not. Please peruse the welcome section above, and the wp:five pillars as well. Cite your sources! Avoid wp:primary sources, if possible. I.e. information published by Trent. Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 05:46, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
- BTW: You can recover your edits by using the wp:page history and wp:undo (click on the history tab). However, add sources with your undo before saving. To simplify citations, use the Templates drop-down over the edit box on the left. Jim1138 (talk) 05:49, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
Sources
Misplaced Pages does have a disclosure requirement for wp:paid editing (Please read carefully). You must disclose any paid editing. From your conversations with me, it would appear that you might be a paid editor. This is now law in the USA, I don't know about Canada.
Misplaced Pages does have a considerable problem with wp:conflict of interest (COI) editors. Often COI editors remove or fix any facts they don't want seen on (their) Misplaced Pages page. Therefore, this would be in conflict with Misplaced Pages's purpose of having accurate, factual articles. So, please be careful to maintain a wp:neutral point of view (NPOV). Use an encyclopedic wp:tone, avoid adding any promotional content.
The issue with primary sources can be found in the link above. If, say, a group were to have a publication stating an untrue factoid, and that factoid added to their Wiki article citing the publication, it would be difficult to remove that untrue item without the "no primary sources" policy. The desirability of reliable secondary sources is that the source has a reputation to uphold and would be less likely to publish unvetted material. So, while primary sources might be usable for some non-exceptional facts, it should be kept to a minimum and secondary sources should be used for exceptional facts. (my interpretation here).
Instead of replying on my talk page, please reply here by adding {{ping|Jim1138}} at the beginning of your reply and sign with four tildes "~~~~" at the end of your reply. Ignore the "nowiki". The ping and tildes must be added and saved at the same time or I won't be notified. See wp:ping.
You can get further help by visiting the wp:teahouse or wp:help desk.
Hope this helps! Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 07:36, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
