I edit Misplaced Pages how it is meant to be edited, not by Misplaced Pages's outdated regulations.

If you leave me a message here, I ''will'' ignore it and delete it. I do not care what you have to say.

It's about time Misplaced Pages changed its rules regarding using the talk page as place for opinion. The number encyclopedia ever to exist... and its rules make casual discussion nigh impossible, unless if it's neatly tucked into their unseen "permitted discussion zone." You can ban me, but my edit(s) will be recorded until nuclear bombs destroy every hard drive on Earth.

:Hi! I understand your desire to have a place to discuss these issues. However, please imagine what the talk pages would be like if no one reverted them to remove opinion! Especially on controversial subjects (abortion, the current president, ongoing events, etc.), the talk pages would be ''flooded'' with opinion, argument, trolling . . . It would be impossible to discuss the actual maintenance of the articles. That's why we're a little touchy about keeping them free of opinion, haha.

:What's the 'permitted discussion zone' you mentioned above? I can't find it anywhere. I guess Misplaced Pages could theoretically added a third 'Discussion' page, on which people can actually discuss the topic and not pollute the article maintenance talk page. However, there might be legal reasons they don't want to do this; Misplaced Pages doesn't want to be seen as promoting one opinion or another, same as Encyclopedia Brittanica.

:I miss the days when you could find a specific forum on any topic and talk about it with strangers, before trolls were really a 'thing'. Therefore, nowadays, when I want to discuss an ongoing event, I use Facebook. My close loved ones easily understand where I'm coming from, and occasionally I'm able to convince them of my side via compassion and respectful language. And when I just want to vent, they understand!

:Thanks for being a contributor! Please let me know if you have any questions, though I don't log on as often as I should, so please excuse a late reply. ] (]) 14:14, 21 June 2014 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for disruptive editing and making personal attacks. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 13:07, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
