I joined Misplaced Pages today because I came across the topic of my 1999 dissertation. I found that with the exception of one sentence, the whole article was lifted word for word from my dissertation. That one sentence was wrong. http://en.wikipedia.org/Bartolomeo_Minio I have corrected it and added a bit more. But I am distressed to find the plagiarism here. Since the dissertation is on the internet, a search engine could have found any of the phrases. | |||

Hi, and welcome to Misplaced Pages! If you're new to our community, drop us a note here and tell us a little bit about yourself. Most important, we would like to know about your interests (for which we have a separate page), your areas of knowledge, and the sorts of things you'd like to work on here at Misplaced Pages. That makes it easier for us to help you start editing. We'd also appreciate it if you told us how you found out about Misplaced Pages.
- To add yourself to the list:
- post a comment,
- enter your name as the subject/headline (which will make a new header for you in the log), and
- sign your name at the end of your comment by typing four tildes: ~~~~. (This code makes a link to your user page, which readers can use to welcome you personally if they like).
- Your comments will then be added to the bottom of the list.
- To add yourself to the list:
You may also like to add yourself to other lists, such as the listing in order of arrival, by country, or by skills (such as translation or photography). Finally, if you want a little personal assistance in using or contributing to the site, you might go through one of the Bootcamps.

Hi, joined to share my knowledge with the Wikipedians - then read the Wiki definition of "expert" and retreated into my shell! Now wondering how best to help. Interests include the origin of languages, physics, and religion. Oh - and a Wiki user for some time. Jeremynicholas 05:33, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
Hi
Hello, my name is Richard Kennedy, username RK-SFO and I live in beautiful San Francisco, California. I am isterested in anything that has to to aviation (airports & airplanes) and I'm very good in geography. Hopefully I can benefit wikipedia!
Hello. I'm Xeno, username Xenophilia. I run the web site by the same name and I've used Misplaced Pages for years as an essential research tool. I'm only now starting to contribute as an editor. I'm interested in and have years of experience in strange topics such as cryptozoology, UFOs and fringe science. Other interests include technology, philosophy, politics, military science, logic, psychology, religion, health, food, art, music and popular culture. Since the birth of the web, long before "blog" was a word, I've been blogging strange news items from all of the above areas in the context of science.
Hey there, im Stephen
I don't think i'll contribute that much to the project apart from a few adds 'n' edits, but i suppose every bit counts.

Hi there everyone
At first, Misplaced Pages intimidated me. After lurking for a year, I finally decided to make a contribution. Life is full of interesting things and one must share what you know.

I've been making minor Misplaced Pages contributions anonymously for some time, but finally decided to sign up.
I'm a California writer, website developer, and community television director/producer with a particular interest in California's indigenous people. I've taken my name from our local mountain, Mt. Tamalpais.
I've recently published a science fiction novel, Warrior Brothers. I have more information about the novel on my user page.
The first page I've created is about Kule Loklo, a Native American village in Point Reyes National Seashore in California. I'll be adding more pages related to it as I get the time. Tamalpa 17:21, 3 September 2006 (UTC)Tamalpa

Champaign
Hi I am from Champaign, Illinois in the United States. I usually like to do small edits whenever I see something a little off. Please feel free to write me. By the way, I'm actually not all that new because I had an account that fell into disuse and it must have been removed and then I just started up a new one under the same exact name as before. -- Champaign 05:43, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
Australia Speaks and Global Topics

Hello. I sort of jumped in the deep end of this pool in the process of correcting a minor inaccuracy in the "begonia" article. You see, I am a begoniac. I've been growing and researching them for about 30 years. So I am fussy about the details of the description of my favorite kind of plant.
I see now that using one's own name as a username seems to be gauche. Is it possible to edit one's username? I should go read some faqs before I make more of a fool of myself.
I'm Regeane Silverwolf
So yah, I'm pretty new...considering...I like maths, music, fiction, history... So...just post a message on my talk page if you wanna.. =D Havin' fun so far!

All,
Got into[REDACTED] while searching for articles on John Le Carre - an author I am re-reading after several years. This time around for the insight he provides into the characters (mostly now my age) rather than the plots which engrossed me some 25 years ago and subsequently as each new book was published.
I live in India and have spent all of my career (28 years) in Adverting, Marketing and Communications. Now I am a free agent looking to dabble in real estate and travel the world at leisure rather than on business trips. Love dogs!

Lightning91
I have been reviewing Misplaced Pages for a few months now. To date I have only made minor edits, although I did write several paragraphs of the Boston Terrier article.
I primarily created this account to help me keep track of my edits. I also wish to help Markspace with his goal of editing the Champions page.

Finally got around to actually writing something
Misplaced Pages was by far my favorite Web resource for at least 2.5 years (I always enjoy enlightening myself on various obscure topics), but until now I didn't see any need to actually contribute anything. Well, now I do—I think articles on Andromeda can use some work. So, here I go =) Skroderider 22:58, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
