I am a current employee of SMI (for over 17 years) this page is greatly outdated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prairiecarrie (talkcontribs) 02:55, 23 February 2017 (UTC)

Future (Future album)

In regards to your comment on the now-withdrawn AfD, I created the article as a redirect three days ago. The last line in my !vote was my saying that it should be kept as a redirect if consensus decided it was non-notable at that point in time, per WP:CHEAP. Ss112 00:23, 18 February 2017 (UTC)

Unreferenced sections of Joi Cardwell#Discography

So does that mean every singers' page needs a reference now in that specific area? If it violates Misplaced Pages policy, please tell me so I can begin adding tags other pages as well. Horizonlove (talk) 00:56, 20 February 2017 (UTC)

@Horizonlove: Adding unsourced content can be explained at Misplaced Pages:Verifiability. I've already told you about this here. Magnolia677 (talk) 01:22, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
So why doesn't pages like Beyonce have to have them? Horizonlove (talk) 01:43, 20 February 2017 (UTC)

Ardmore, Pennsylvania

The content about the church was merged in to Ardmore, Pennsylvania by consensus at the deletion debate for Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Ardmore Presbyterian Church. I'm going to revert your removal per that discussion. ♠PMC(talk) 17:42, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

@Premeditated Chaos: I started a discussion at Talk:Ardmore, Pennsylvania. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 18:55, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

@Qockar: Thank you for leaving the link to your source in your edit summary. With 430 edits, you are not a new editor, so it would be best if you added your source as an inline citation to the articles in question. To assist you, I have added a belated welcome to your talk page. In that welcome are valuable links to help pages which will assist you. All the best. Wikihounding

Your continuous edits to articles I update; Plata O Plomo, Fat Joe, Big Pun appears as an attempt to WP:WIKIHOUND. Please stop. Smush123 (talk) 10:48, 26 February 2017 (UTC)

@Smush123: Your edits to Moores Bluff, Mississippi were both vexatious and disruptive. I strongly urge you to read Do not disrupt Misplaced Pages to illustrate a point. Magnolia677 (talk) 15:25, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
I looked at the edits and would urge all concerned to WP:Assume good faith. Yours in Wikidom, BeenAroundAWhile (talk) 03:40, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

Information icon Please be careful when you revert updates to pages as in doing so on Fat Joe discography you removed a referenced piece of information about the single What's Luv? having a silver award by the BPI. Thanks Smush123 (talk) 23:00, 26 February 2017 (UTC)

Fat Joe Discography

The labels I put in are mentioned on the reference but as you have rightly stated rhino entertainment was not listed there. It is however listed on Spotify, which anyone could confirm. I cannot reference individual albums through Spotify. Smush123 (talk) 13:37, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

Topic from User talk:Johnpacklambert

Now that User:Johnpacklambert has blanked his talk page (without discussing any of the many questions he's been asked), I thought I'd copy the discussion here, so that I could answer your question.

Please stop AFDing sports biographies without doing appropriate research Thank you. --- PageantUpdater (talk) 17:36, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

@PageantUpdater: One of the comments at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Farukh Abitov described Johnpacklambert's AfD as a "lazy nomination". I've had no luck locating a source confirming that Farukh Abitov passes WP:NFOOTBALL. FIFA doesn't acknowledged that his team, FC Dordoi Bishkek, is fully professional, and none of the teams or leagues Abitove has played on are listed at Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Football/Fully professional leagues. I've also been unable to find anything confirming that Kyrgyzstan's national team competes at a tier 1 International level. Magnolia677 (talk) 18:51, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
(talk page stalker)@Magnolia677: You've followed WP:BEFORE better than JPL has. At least you looked for sources. And some of the articles he's nominated have sources now; I think some of them did even before he nominated them. I can't say with full confidence that JPL examined whether or not the articles had sources before nominating for deletion. That's bad. pbp 18:56, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
(talk page stalker)@Magnolia677:You can see by a glance at Kyrgyzstan national football team that it's tier 1, as it's participating in 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification. Non tier 1 teams don't do that. Nfitz (talk) 19:40, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
@Nfitz: Do you have a link to a source supporting that the national team Abitov plays on competes at FIFA tier 1? I'm not doubting you, I just couldn't find a source. Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 20:12, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
It's not so much the team that's tier 1, but the match that's tier 1. Pretty much any game between 2 FIFA-recognized national teams (but not 'B' squads) are tier 1. Tier 2 tends to involve club teams (Liverpool, Barcelona, etc.) and non-FIFA nations (Tibet, Guernsey, Gibraltar (before 2016), Greenland, etc. The list of the 209 FIFA-recognized national teams (for men) can be found here. The FIFA regulations defining Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 matches is here. Nfitz (talk) 21:13, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
  • If he's not familiar enough with the material to be able to judge notability of leagues etc (which clearly he doesn't) he should leave well enough alone. See also the two comments above mine. That nom was never rescinded. --- PageantUpdater (talk) 20:20, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
@PageantUpdater: Do you believe Johnpacklambert's AfD was vexatious or in bad faith? Also, your edit history shows no edits to football players. One could ask why you commented at the AfD? Magnolia677 (talk) 20:40, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
  • Because I saw the comments above and knowing JPL's history was not surprised. It takes a very basic understanding to be able to judge these articles But it just takes a minute or two of checking, something those who have dealt with him in AFD in the past know he (almost) never does adequately. Lo and behold it's then very easy to discover ill formed AFDs en masse. Either he should commit to understanding the notability guidelines and checking properly or he should leave well enough alone. --- PageantUpdater (talk) 20:49, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
  • And the rest of my replies to you as well @Magnolia677::
    • Not at all. I was alerted to the AFDs and considered each on their merit. One even got a delete vote. I dare say I did more research into each than JPL clearly did. Before voting to Keep in line with other editors I also made sure their argument checked out. I'm not a sheep but I am determined to protect Misplaced Pages from this sort of ongoing nonsense behaviour. That involves doing due diligence. --- PageantUpdater (talk) 21:13, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
      • Re Kyrgyzstan "For the purpose of these regulations, a tier 1 International Match shall mean any International Match in which both of the teams participating are the “A” Representative Teams of the Members concerned, or an International Match involving a Scratch Team." --- PageantUpdater (talk) 21:18, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
  • Magnolia, I'm not sure you're getting the problem PageantUpdater, myself, and others are faced with when dealing with JPL's editing. JPL has a habit of creating AfDs faster than he or anybody else who participates in them can assess the merits of the articles. At a minimum, JPL needs to slow down long enough for the community to have enough time to assess the articles he's nominated. But, since this is nowhere near the first time he's done that (PageantUpdater encountered him first when he flooded AfD with beauty pageant contestant nominations; including a number of very, very poorly conceived ones), I think he needs to be placed under some sort of sanction that curtails his nomination of articles for deletion, at least until he's made it abundantly clear to the community that he knows what he's doing. pbp 21:35, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
I don't want to come off as an asshole, but I agree. While this user has made many useful contributions to Misplaced Pages s/he also has aggresivly pushed for articles to be nominated with out thoroughly following WP:BEFORE. The recent spade of article the user nominated for deletion that clearly pass WP:NFOOTY stand as an attachment to this. Inter&anthro (talk) 21:48, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
(I had an edit conflict before I could add...) My primary interaction with User:Johnpacklambert at AfD discussions have involved rap music articles, and my impression is that he has an excellent grasp of notability guidelines. AfD's are nasty business. Lots of hurt feelings and finger pointing, but they strengthen the project. Anyway, let's end this, as it's behind the back of another editor (who I happen to have a high regard for). Cheers! Magnolia677 (talk) 22:06, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
Fair enough, though I'd like to point out it's only behind his back because he blanked the original discussion on his talk page, with the comment "rubbish". Nfitz (talk) 22:12, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
For the sake of not bombarding Magnolia677's talk page and other reasons I suggest we all WP:DROPIT and move to the administrator's noticeboard to discuses these issue in a more appropriate setting and context. Thanks Inter&anthro (talk) 22:46, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

Albany, New York

Hi there,

Thanks for the talk. Regarding the change I made, I noticed that the population figure was the population within city limits, not the Capital District metro area, so I changed accordingly. The citation used led to a dead link, so I left it there. If you can find a more up-to-date source, that would be great.

Cheers, WuTang94 (talk) 22:54, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

@WuTang94: I'm like a Ninja when I see population and climate changes with no updated source, but when I looked at your edit history I knew it was probably my error. Cheers! Magnolia677 (talk) 22:54, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
