Maja showed a preference for music at the early age. She inherited her singing gift from her father and mother. Her father, Novak has his own band and sings pop music, while her mother Slavica sings traditional music. Maja had her first public appearance at the age of seven, at the festival in Niš "May rose ", when she sang a duet with her brother and won first prize and earned her first salary.



In 2011, Maja got back in the public eye by participating in a number of reality shows. She was removed from a reality show broadcast on Pink TV for insulting ] by stating she did not like them. She could be charged for hate speech.<ref></ref>
