DYK for Continuing Appropriations Act, 2014

Updated DYK queryOn 9 November 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Continuing Appropriations Act, 2014, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the Continuing Appropriations Act, 2014, which resolved the 2013 U.S. government shutdown and debt-ceiling crisis, may just be kicking the can down the road? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Continuing Appropriations Act, 2014. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Copying within Misplaced Pages requires proper attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Misplaced Pages. It appears that you copied or moved text from Constitutional basis of taxation in Australia into Section 96 of the Constitution of Australia. While you are welcome to re-use Misplaced Pages's content, here or elsewhere, Misplaced Pages's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Misplaced Pages, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Misplaced Pages:Copying within Misplaced Pages. Thank you. You were already advised back in January to start doing this. Please have a look at this edit summary as an example of how it is done. Please let me know if you are having trouble understanding what to do or why we have to do it. Thanks, — Diannaa (talk) 15:07, 8 April 2016 (UTC)

I see you are still not adding the required attribution, as required under the terms of the CC-by-SA license. Please have a look at this edit summary as an example of how it is done. Please leave a message on my talk page if you still don't understand what to do or why we have to do it. Thanks, — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 23:26, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

I see by your edit to Parliament of Tasmania you are still not adding the required attribution, as required under the terms of the CC-by-SA license. Copying from one article another without providing the required attribution is a copyright violation. Please begin fulfilling this mandatory legal requirement. Thanks, — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 18:31, 30 April 2017 (UTC) You have again forgotten to add the legally required attribution for content you copied from Australian passport to Australian nationality law. I have added the required attribution in a subsequent edit. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 20:24, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Misplaced Pages from another source without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted.

Accept reason:

I am unblocking your account, as this post shows you have a good understanding of copyright law and how it applies to Misplaced Pages editing; and this post demonstrates that you don't intend to use multiple accts to avoid scrutiny. Welcome back, and happy editing. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 04:29, 26 February 2017 (UTC)

Enthusiast01, "for reasons previously discussed" is not going to be clear to those unaware of your block appeal before this one. Do you want me to link to it here to provide context? Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 03:56, 26 February 2017 (UTC)

Please do. Nice to see you are keeping an eye on me. Enthusiast01 (talk) 03:59, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
Well, I have your talk page watchlisted. And like I stated, I know how hard it is to stop editing this site for good, no matter how much you want to.
Anyway, for those reviewing this matter, Enthusiast01 made a case for being unblocked in December 2016; see here and here. He was very close to being unblocked, as is clear by Diannaa's final response on the matter, but he was upset and left instead of taking the time to reply when given a clear opportunity for an unblock. It seems he needed some time to cool off, which is clearly why he's back now. If the reviewing administrator thinks this needs to go back to WP:AN, I'd be willing to set up another block review. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 04:11, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
Flyer22, the usual course of action is to first contact the blocking admin, as they are typically contacted regardless. Also, no need for a big drama-rama, he has met the unblock conditions that I set out. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 04:29, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
Wow, that was quick. Enthusiast01 (talk) 04:35, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
Diannaa, the blocking administrator's opinion being important is why I pinged you above. As for a big drama-rama, I was thinking logically -- that the request might be declined, given the statements of others at WP:AN. In any case, if you feel that he has met the unblock conditions, there's nothing more to state. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 04:49, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
On a side note: Enthusiast01, you did pop into my head hours before your above unblock request. That's because, when scrolling my watchlist, this longtime editor caught my eye after using one of your favorite edit summaries: "Tidy." Anyway, I hope to see you editing well. Remember to keep sourcing (inline references) in mind. You know, more than you usually do. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 05:20, 26 February 2017 (UTC)

Coverture

Sorry I only saw your edits to that article now. At a minimum, they were added in the wrong place, since the article is about the Common-law legal systems. Similar institutions elsewhere should go in the "Analogous concepts outside the common law system" section. AnonMoos (talk) 11:36, 4 May 2017 (UTC)

Be aware that Donald Trump's disclosure of classified information to Russia is under a discretionary sanction that forbids editors from reinstating an edit which has been removed until consensus is reached. Your edit here violated that. Please be careful in the future. ~ Rob13 03:46, 22 May 2017 (UTC)

Please remember to leave a edit summary when editing articles. I observed that one was not left when this edit was made.--RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 00:42, 1 June 2017 (UTC)

Biased unethical editing in case of political topics

This user has selectively used opinions from newspapers that supported its anti-Trump bias in case of Comey-Trump relationship. But systematically deleted other user's additions TAKEN FROM THE SAME NEWSPAPER, that brought a different light to the topics. The user is not worthy of TRUTH-based Misplaced Pages. He should be banned for improper editing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.88.146.1 (talk) 13:18, 9 June 2017 (UTC)

It is expected that such posts be signed. Whether it is from the same newspaper article or not, the material must be relevant to the subject matter of an article in which it is used. This article is about Comey's dismissal, not about disclosure of classified information or anything else. Your posts are not relevant to that end, as many other editors have obviously indicated. Stop trashing the article.

Copying licensed material requires proper attribution

Hi. I see in a recent addition to Australian Security Intelligence Organisation you included material from a webpage that is available under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia license. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this legal requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 20:24, 18 June 2017 (UTC)

Dismissal of James Comey

Hi there. I just wanted to let you know I have reverted your recent edit on this article. I did not understand why these edits were made, as there were no reasons given in the edit summary. You deleted certain links, and cited source content, that is helpful to our readers. Also, using words like "however", to replace more direct and forward text that gets to the point seems unnecessary. No disrespect, I have appreciated many of your past edits, but if you wish to keep edits such as these, please at least provide an edit summary. Thanks, and keep up the good work. DN (talk) 20:09, 24 June 2017 (UTC)

Fair enough. The first edit (replaced by However) was a duplicate statement relating to Comey wanting to maintain FBI independence from politics. The "however" part was a reference to not being able to achieve this in at least two cases. In relation to the second part of the edit: it was to remove a double link.
