	==Evaluation and peer review of research==
	JCI Editor Dr. Howard Rockman of ] will serve as the first Editor in Chief. Manuscripts are adjudicated by a team of experienced professional editors, including Sarah Jackson, Jillian Hurst, and Corrine Williams. A consulting editorial board of experts representing a wide range of medical disciplines aids in the peer review of submitted papers. In addition to considering direct submissions, authors who have had manuscripts externally reviewed at the JCI believed to be more suited to JCI Insight are invited to have their work considered by JCI Insight without re-review. The process is quick and efficient, with minimal requests for revision.
	==Business model==
	JCI Insight is a nonprofit publication of the ASCI, with an Editorial office in Durham, North Carolina, and a publishing office in Ann Arbor, Michigan. All JCI Insight articles are freely available online upon publication. Revenue derives from article processing charges to authors for published articles.
	==Open access==
	All JCI Insight articles are freely available at the time of publication at JCI Insight's website. Although authors of research articles must transfer copyright to the journal prior to publication, JCI Insight allows liberal noncommercial reuse of article information. Authors may deposit their published articles in academic and other repositories. Authors may use and distribute their articles and the information contained therein following the fair-use doctrine of US copyright law. For those research articles authored by employees of the US government, no copyright applies, and these articles are considered to be in the public domain.
