Jeff Oster Deletion - Why
I'm not certain why this page was deleted. It was approved and stood for a some time. The only recent change was the addition of his nomination to the IMA awards, others of which were already mentioned in the page. The page is not promotional. He has done significant work (which is why it was approved).
Please tell me how this page violated part of the Misplaced Pages rules?
Thank you. | |||

* The two images to which you linked don't prove anything in my view. "Correct" is a strange word to use. All Misplaced Pages articles must of course be factually accurate. But factually accuracy is not sufficient to make an acceptable article. We will see how your new draft fares. — ] (] '''·''' ]) 22:08, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
RHaworth: In your view, that's fine; you're more than entitled to your opinon. The photos clearly show a thread attacking him and one of them saying that he's purposely going to screw with his wikipedia and another stating in the comments that they need to "readact him from the annals" (meaning wiki, net etc). The original discussions and edits on his page that was here for years actually show vandalism from these people and even another editor on Wiki agreed with that. If that isn't proof of purposeful vandalism, I don't know what is. Please let me know when this can be resolved and the page can go public, it's really been going on long enough. Thank you, I appreciate it. <!-- Template:Unsigned --><small class="autosigned">— Preceding ] comment added by ] (] • ]) 22:19, 29 March 2019 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

Hi {{u|RHaworth}}, today I submitted a ] for review and I noticed it has been entirely deleted by you. Looking at the deletion log it shows a G12: copyright infringement. I put a lot of work into using peer reviewed references and have never heard of those websites, so not quite sure how it could be such clear case. Further, I started with a cut and paste from ]. To then delete all the work I did to improve that is quite rude. Further, how do I find the text? I probably put several hours in, so it is really disheartening to have it so speedily deleted. This is not very welcoming to people contributing. It should not have been hard to determine that none of my edits were a copyright violation.— ] (]) 01:45, 8 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi, you deleted the page ] under the speedy delete provisions A7 and G11. I saw the tag come up and edited the page to demonstrate credible claims of significance or importance with references to a number of third party links that discussed the subject. Hi, I was editing the draft which was given for speedy deletion (Draft: Daniel P Dietz Jr.) and I stated that the material used was just a way to organize the various information, more of a template to organize. However, it was deleted as I was editing and I was confused, as this was a draft, it wasn't published as yet, nor did I give it for review, it also stated that I am free to make changes as long as it's not published. I made my case on the draft's talk page, but I wasn't given a response. Is there any way I could recover it as I also stated that I was making future edits and that I wasn't going to publish the other user's information. Thanks! ] (]) 13:44, 9 April 2019 (UTC)

Please restore sandbox asap
Greetings User:RHaworth, Earlier today you deleted a newbie sandbox without warning, to my knowledge. This is the edit: 15:53, April 8, 2019 RHaworth (talk | contribs) deleted page User:Leandramarie/sandbox (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion in userspace) The student whose sandbox you deleted is working as a part of a WikiEd Foundation class, and the profile should have been labeled this way. We are now at the end of the semester and the student is waiting for a grade. You are preventing that student from receiving that grade as you have deleted their work. Please restore and provide a justification for this decision.
In the future, I would appreciate you notifying me of your intentions to do things like this. Instructors are clearly noted as being connected to these pages so that things like this do not happen. A note on my talk page, at minimum, would be appreciated. I hope that you will make this a top priority, as your actions may have implications for the class. - Please read my first reply at #Request for undeletion/G12 below. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:28, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
- Jaobar pinged me about this because of my Wiki Education role. I looked at the deleted version of User:Leandramarie/sandbox, and it's not a G11 - it's simply an expansion of the existing Just Do It page. There are a few words in there that aren't quite encyclopaedic, but a few words don't make it a G11. The only problem I see is that it incorporates text from an existing article without proper attribution. But that's an easy-enough fix.
- As an aside, could you take a closer look at some of Jebcubed's G11 noms. They're well-meaning, but this is the second bad nom I've come across is the past day. — User:Ian (Wiki Ed)/Guettarda (talk) 13:00, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
- I checked six of Jebcubed's speedy tags. they were all valid. If you are concerned, stalk them yourself and revert speedies which you think are inappropriate. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:29, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
Thank you both for your help restoring the sandbox. Best, -- Jaobar (talk) 16:17, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi RHaworth. You deleted this file a little over a month ago. I'm wondering if it's similar in terms of licensing to File:Mega Rayquaza.png also uploaded by the same editor. The Mega Rayquaza file seems to be either a outright copyright violation or a WP:DERIVATIVE with the copyright on the original imagery held by the designer of Rayquaza or the company which owns the Pokemon franchise. -- Marchjuly (talk) 14:18, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

Nomination of Still photography for deletion
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Still photography is suitable for inclusion in Misplaced Pages according to Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Still photography until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Qono (talk) 17:37, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Deleted Draft:List of Ace of Diamond chapters
Hi! I was the one who created Draft:List of Ace of Diamond chapters, which was deleted by you shortly after I submitted it for review. I just want to ask why it has been deleted. Is the issue the summaries included in the page? If so, I got those summaries from Kodansha USA's page for the series and not from Amazon. I would just like to understand why it was deleted for copyright infringement. It was not my intention to do so. Hope you can elaborate on this to me so I can keep the reason in mind before redoing the draft and sending it again for review. Thank you very much! Perseushunt (talk) 22:43, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Deleted:Doubles curling
Hi, you just deleted Doubles curling even though there was no copyright infringement and I pointed this out on the talk page. This is the website that the supposed copyrighted text came from: . If you look it says towards the bottom of the page, "Here is a simplified version at Misplaced Pages:" and then links to the Mixed curling article that Doubles curling was split from. Right below that line is the text that the Doubles curling article had that matched the website and was supposedly copyright infringement. How is this copyright infringement when they got the text from wikipedia and even cited the originating article? The article shouldn't have been deleted anyway since the alleged copyright infringing text was only a portion of the article and Misplaced Pages:CSD#G12 says "where there is no non-infringing content on the page worth saving". Why was the article deleted? - A202985 (talk) 22:12, 12 April 2019 (UTC)

Deletion of Jhett Black Edition
Hello, I see you've deleted a page that I had contested the deletion request on. Once there was a keep request, the page needs to go through review. It's clear that the the reason I gave against the deletion on the article's talk page was completely ignored. The album charted on the official Japanese music chart Oricon, which is enough for an article to have a page. — Xenobia4 (talk) 02:45, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

- You listed it but did you provide a link? Restored - fix the excessive amount of shouting. Do you think it would be a good idea to provide an article about the artiste before writing about his works? Please reply. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:58, 11 April 2019 (UTC)
Thank you. I want to start on a page on the artist, but finding complete information on the Jhett himself has proved difficult, whereas he was only an official artist for a year under the Avex label before returning as a underground artist. His official singles and album releases are easy enough to locate, however. I would love for someone with more experience in tracking down information on smaller artists, if you can recommend a fellow contributor. — Xenobia4 (talk) 22:59, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
- My reaction to "recommend a fellow contributor" was: look at existing articles in the category for Jhett; look through the edit history of some of them to find an established editor who has contributed significantly. One problem is what category: category:underground rappers and category:Asian Underground musicians exist but there is no category:underground musicians. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:20, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
Will do. Thank you so much! Xenobia4 (talk) 03:54, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
Undeletion request
Hello, I am working for over four days on the hybrid blockchain draft that just got speedy deleted. I am researching different types of hybrid blockchains and have put that information about Polkadot there so I can continue writing on it in my own words. That entire article is being written by myself, except that little piece about Polkadot because I am not finished yet. This is very complex material and it takes a lot of time to make sure everything is accurate. I apologize for this mistake from my part, I was not aware I am in conflict while still working in draft. I do not understand why the entire draft got deleted instead of just that little part of a long piece of work. Please allow me to continue working on that draft. And I will not make the same mistake again. — JeffreyDutch (talk) 10:18, 13 April 2019 (UTC)

Deletion of page Umberto Malesci
Hello RHaworth, you deleted the page Umberto Malesci without placing it on Speedy Deletion Wiki. Your assessment on notability is inaccurate. The page had references from the major Italian newspaper that published articles about me, my achievements, and my ventures. "Corriere della Sera" and "Sole 24 Ore" are the most reputable newspapers in Italy. They would correspond, respectively, to the NY Times and WSJ in the US. Doing a google news search with "Umberto Malesci" would provide you significant news coverage about who I am and what I've done:
Below a few relevant articles for your review: , . Moreover, there is significant coverage in the US as well including Forbes that cites me as a leading expert in his field: , and . I am a recipient of the Milan Chamber of Commerce award as "entrepreneur of the year" for the City of Milan in 2011: .
I'd appreciate if you can recreate the page and, if you still are uncertain about notability for my page, start a Misplaced Pages discussion involving other editors who are familiar with my field and with the reputation of newspapers like "Sole 24 Ore" and "Corriere delle Sera". Janice Griffith was deleted despite the verdict at the most recent discussion here. Can you please {{ping}} me and let me know why this was deleted without a more recent XFD, contrary to that discussion? I created a redirect to Cane Hill (band) from that term. The redirect is a different type of entry than the article. -- Jax 0677 (talk) 13:21, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
- Hi RHaworth. Jax 0677's message above is misleading at best. In the RfD, he voted to "keep" and wrote, "If the article can be created, then it should be created." So I withdrew the nomination and turned the redirect into a stub, leading to the G4 deletion. That's fine; I wasn't aware of the prior AfD. However, the consensus of that AfD wasn't to "redirect" but to "delete." If this subject is not notable, the page should be "salted," not redirected.
- I opened the RfD in the first place due to BLP concerns. If the subject is a non-notable living person, her name should not be redirected to a section about her being a victim of domestic violence, cited to a blog post. I think that this is callous and contrary to BLP. What do you think? — 24.185.5.61 (talk) 18:31, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

Undelete Request Highway Runoff database
Dear Mr. Haworth, Thank you for your rigorous protection of Misplaced Pages and your prompt attention to my article on the Highway Runoff Database (HRDB). I annotated the top of the page with the note: "<!-- NOTE: The highway runoff database and the associated reports are works of the United States government and, therefore, are not subject to copyright restrictions. This page should not be rejected/deleted due to text copied from such publications -->" At the bottom, I added the code " This article incorporates public domain material from websites or documents of the United States Geological Survey.". The Misplaced Pages page I created has extensive links to the published source documents; all of which are in the public domain. Finally, I am the primary author of the HRDB and many of the reports that include the HRDB. The HRDB is free to the public, but because it is a government publication, is not publicized. Over the decade since it was first published I have noticed many cases where tax payer money was wasted because government researchers and university students have recreated efforts to assemble information available in the HRDB. I am a civil servant and so have nothing to gain from publication on Misplaced Pages.
Extended content |

In several comments on your talk page, you suggest that people wait until the subject of a page garners outside attention; that is a valid observation. The HRDB has been included in two published and one draft (soon to be published) reports by the U.S. National Academies of Science Engineering and Medicine

The HRDB also has been cited in several USGS reports, journal articles, and conference papers that I was an author or coauthor on. However, these articles and reports cite a older versions of the database; people may not be able to find newer versions. Misplaced Pages can help people find the latest versions. Also, once the HRDB page is created, this Misplaced Pages page can be used on other Misplaced Pages pages that discuss stormwater management, nonpoint source pollution, and related topics. In this way students and scientists will more readily find the HRDB and the actual data about the quality of highway runoff. The also will be able to find other original sources cited by the HRDB Misplaced Pages page. |
I spent about 4 hours boiling down information from other sources and reorganizing and rewriting my previous writings on the HRDB and creating the images used on the page. I'd be grateful for feedback on how to improve the work, but nuking someone's work wholesale without discussion or the chance for feedback seems a bit drastic. Jeff Oster Deletion - Why I'm not certain why this page was deleted. It was approved and stood for a some time. The only recent change was the addition of his nomination to the IMA awards, others of which were already mentioned in the page. The page is not promotional. He has done significant work (which is why it was approved). Please tell me how this page violated part of the Misplaced Pages rules? Thank you.
