Refreshment
Attention, if you're an admin please consider trying your hand at refreshment... it's easy, just follow the directions and the rules.
- Follow the steps at the Guide to Updating DYK.
- When you add an image to DYK, you must protect it and add {{mprotected}} to the image description page, or {{C-uploaded}} if you have uploaded a temporary copy from Commons (make sure you also copy the author attribution and the licence tag).
- If you are an admin at Commons, you may protect the Commons version of the image, and add {{En main page}} there. However, you must also add {{mprotected}} on the English Misplaced Pages's image description page and protect the image here to prevent vandals from uploading a local version.
- Try to include items from varied fields of interest, time periods, and parts of the world.
- Please disambiguate linked words in the suggestion.
- Try to ensure entries are of appropriate length and make them more interesting, if possible.
- Stale entries are no fun, but please try to give every entry the exposure it deserves.
- After updating the template, follow the steps at #Instructions to admins.
- Don't forget to UNprotect the previously used image AFTER you change the template to the new picture.
- If you remove a {{C-uploaded}}-tagged image from the template, please speedy delete it. Don't forget to immediately check the deleted history of its image description page and restore any relevant Misplaced Pages-specific edits, category links, and tags (such as {{FeaturedPicture}}) that were on there beforehand.

Suggestions
List new suggestions here, at the date the article was created (not the date you submit it here), with the newest dates at the top. If there's a suitable image, place it after the suggestion.
Remember:
- Proposed articles should be over 1000 characters, cite sources (these sources should be properly labelled, that is, not under an "External links" header), and be no more than 5 days old (unless it was under 1000 characters, marked a stub, and has been expanded by at least an additional 1000 characters), and should not be marked as stubs. Articles with good references and cites are preferred to those that are not.
- Suggested facts should be:
- Interesting to draw in a variety of readers around the world.
- Short and pithy (under about 200 characters).
- Neutral.
- Definite facts, mentioned in the article.
- Suggested pictures should be:
- Suitably freely (PD, GFDL, CC etc) licensed (NOT fair use) as the main page by policy can only have freely licensed pictures.
- Attractive and interesting, even at a very small (100px wide) resolution
- In the article already
- Relevant to the article
- Please check back for comments on your nomination. Your entry may miss out on the front page if you don't respond to reasonable objections.
BACKLOGGED?
This page often seems to be backlogged. It is possible to go to WP:AN or #irc to try and draw attention to it, but this appears somewhat fruitless. If it does get backlogged, it may be useful to draw to its attention the administrators who have regularly updated the template. If any admin would like to be reminded of the backlog, they can feel free to add themselves! As such, administrators who have regularly updated in the past and upon whom haranguing may be effective are

- I suggest a "Russian" in front of "actor", as we need to be specific, and I hope to God the man was "acting", not "playing" (although, at age 90, such eccentricities are prolly condoned). :) Dahn 22:16, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Disclaimer: while the original entry dates to mid-2001, I have been expandig this article in the past months and only today removed the stub note.
- To say that the article about revolutions dates from within the last five days does not make sense. The DYK section is meant to present to our readers new articles and Revolution does not conform to the definition on any account. If you want to see it on Main Page, please consider submitting it to WP:FAC. --Ghirla 20:08, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure this qualifies as a "significant expansion", the requirement for DYK. I'll let the regulars here figure that one out. Titoxd 20:15, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- I was under the impression that DYKs are both for new articles and recently destubbed articles. As for the 'significant expansion': the article had about 3,5k characters month ago before I started editing it, 6,5k characters two days ago before I started the lastest phase of expansion and now has 18k. PS. I am afraid it is not comprehensive enough to be a FA-class article yet, but one day...at least it's not a pitful stub anymore :)-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk 02:30, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

- I almost selected this article. But could you check the UK figures? The last 2 refs in the article give a figure of 60 millions pounds which is greater than 95 million dollars. Being an article related to UK there should be one source which states the accurate amount in GBP. - Aksi_great (talk) 18:52, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

- I'm not sure whether or not lists qualify for DYK. I seem to remember it coming up in the past, but can't recall the decision. It really should be outlined in the rules somewhere, though. GeeJo ⁄(c) • 15:40, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- I spent eight hours combing through Misplaced Pages and the Internet compiling the list (on what I initially thought would be a 20 min project). I doubt that such a comprehensive list exists anywhere else other than on Misplaced Pages and certainly contains some surprises for people who are interested in architecture. That's why I think the list is worth DYK status (but the five days is up today, so please make a decision soon!) -- 20:59, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not opposed to featuring the article, it's just that I've not been updating the template myself long enough to feel comfortable doing so in this case without someone to back up my hunch. GeeJo ⁄(c) • 16:59, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- I've always opposed promotion of lists, and quite vocally at that, but I think we may make an exception here. This list does not seem like your average mechanical compilation of items. --Ghirla 17:07, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- I still oppose this one. THere should be at least two paras at the front giving more context. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 06:10, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

- Yeah, if the Olympic gold medal isn't enough on its own merits, the rest is just padding. Fairly solid article, though. GeeJo ⁄(c) • 11:03, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- Well, the gold by itself has no hook. There are 300 golds at every olympics, and then some of those are team golds... Blnguyen (bananabucket) 06:10, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

- Aside from reviews, the main body of the article is only two sentences long. Is there really nothing more interesting about her than a newspaper review of a film she was in? GeeJo ⁄(c) • 17:26, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- Valid points. I found and added that she is 14 and a Londoner. She is so new that there is very little on the web, though I have spent a few hours searching. I have added a little description of her role. Her performance was so compelling that she is attracting wide notice. I am actively seeking more information quickly, but it is true that a note on the main page would raise the chance of getting that info. Hu 03:38, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
