==Biography==
===1994–2012: Early life===
Areum was born on 19 April 1994. She attends the Hanlim School of Arts in the Applied music faculty and has been the top of her class for the past years.<ref name="nate20120614">{{ko icon}} </ref>

===2012–2013: T-ara===

Areum was added into ] in July 2012 as their eighth member<ref name="nate20120612">{{ko icon}} </ref> and made her debut through ].

She was confirmed as the eighth member on 12 June 2012<ref name="nate20120612" /> and her company released official pictures of her on 14 June 2012.<ref name="nate20120614" />

She was already a trainee in the company prior to her debut.

As of 10 July 2013, she left T-ara to pursue a solo career in hip hop, whilst searching for opportunities of being an actress. As of 6 September 2014, Areum's contract has been terminated with Core Contents Media.
