Manmad Junction Railway Station is a central railway junction (station code MMR) serving the town of Manmad, in the Nashik district of the Maharashtra state in India. Ankai and Tankai forts are 10.6 kilometers (6.59 miles) away from the station.
History
On April 16, 1853, the first train travelled from Mumbai to Thane. By May 1854, the Great Indian Peninsula Railway's Mumbai-Thane line was extended to the Kalyan Railway Station. Bhusawal Junction railway station, built in 1860, was not opened for traffic until the mid-1860s. The track was extended to Khandwa in 1866 and again to Nagpur in 1867.
Today, Manmad Junction Railway Station is connected to numerous major Indian railway stations such as: Mumbai CST, Pune Junction, and Secunderabad Junction. Manmad Junction Railway Station is among the top one hundred most booked stations of the Indian Railways. Wi-Fi has been available since 2017.
Langar Seva
Main article: Langar_(Sikhism)Manmad station is the first stop on the Sachkhand Express route from Sri Amritsar Sahib to Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded. Sikh pilgrims often travel by train on this route. Each day the local Sikh community from Manmad organizes langar, a term used in Sikhism referring to free meals provided to the general public regardless of race, religion gender or caste. A langar can be organised anywhere in India.

Central Engineering Workshop
The Central Engineering Workshop located at Manmad has two wings. The fabrication of girder bridges is carried out in the structural yard, while other manufacturing activities are carried out in the general yard and workshop.
Developments
Railways in the Niphad-Manmad-Nandagaon sector were electrified, and the locomotives (diesel and electromotive diesel) were changed to electric between 1968 and 1969. Manmad has an electric locomotive trip shed to supply and control the trains.
The Central Railway plans to double the line between Daund and Manmad.
