In a deleted scene from ], he is seen with a post-it note on his head that says ], and on ], when ] warns him to keep his awards speech short. In "Halloween", Boss ] must fire one employee. After trying to fire many workers, he attempts to fire ]. Creed convinces Michael that he should fire Devon instead. Michael calls Devon into his office. Devon is very mad because the only reason he is being fired is because Creed pressured Michael to. Devon tries to convince his boss to reconsider and fire Creed, but is unsuccessful. Michael tries to salvage a friendship that was not even there to begin with by, on top of severance, giving Devon a $20 ] gift card, which Devon rips right in front of him. |

Everybody leaves the Office except Michael, Dwight, ], and Creed, suggesting that Devon did not get along with Dwight or Angela. Devon later throws a ] at Michael's car. Later, Michael receives a $3000 ] bonus, which Michael credits to firing Devon. He even considers calling Devon to thank him.
