Letter

Honourable editors,

I am an editor, Nikesh Roy, not logged in. You may remove this letter reading. Please keep my request.

I have edited some pages from 20 Aug 2020, but my edits were unsourced. My edits were removed by some another editors. Then I provided sources, but they removed my edition again. My previous pages were not correct. I want wikipedia's improvement. I edited Geography of West Bengal (with reference), Jalpaiguri Zilla School's 'prizes and recognition' part. Trust me, I want improvement. After giving sources, they undid that again. Then how wikipedia will improve? Please help wikipedia to be more rich. Please help me to write them again or write them. Please.

-Your faithfully

Mohan Bhagwat marital status

When I searched for 'Mohan Bhagwat' google suggested a search for 'Mohan Bhagwat wife'. So I added to his page that he is a bachelor. Why is it not-needed? I don't need it myself but it looks like people are searching for that information. And calling it 'unsourced info' shows your lack of knowledge of the subject. Why don't you source info about his being married? Most big names have a section for 'personal life'. In Bhagwat's case there is hardly any personal life, and a separate section is not needed. But one sentence in 'early life' section should not be a problem. Anyway I am adding it back and sourcing it this time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 157.33.195.253 (talk) 07:03, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

Royal Challengers Bangalore

@Fylindfotberserk,

Thanks for the information. The Bangalore wiki page mentions about the Bengaluru and only the matter of time all the Bangalore will be edited as Bengaluru in the Wiki Pages considering the amount of articles and it will take time to rewrite all the articles.

Karimganj Railway station

The History was actually correct, but the citation was not upto mark. So, as a beginner I request you to put correct citation for this history (Assam Bengal Railway)

Happy Holidays

Spread the WikiLove by wishing another user Happy Holidays, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past, a good friend, or just some random person. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year and thanks for your good wishes

Vambu Sandai - Discussion

Please take part in the discussion. Lakshmi Putrudu, the dubbed version of this film, should not have a wiki page. The discussion is located on the page titled Vambu Sandai. Thank you. --DragoMynaa

A cup of tea for you!

Hi Fylindfotberserk, I noticed you have not been around in while. Hope all is well. :) S0091 (talk) 18:28, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
@S0091: I saw your message today. I was unwell actually. had headache and blurry vision. Took rest for 3 weaks initially, then after that got busy with IRL work and kinda avoided editing here. How are you? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:03, 17 August 2020 (UTC)
Glad you are feeling better. My watchlist is just not the same without your name popping up regularly. :) I am doing well, if not fortunate in many ways. Thank you for asking. S0091 (talk) 15:36, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
@S0091: Hehe.. thanks man. Take care. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:47, 22 August 2020 (UTC)

Hey, good to see you back!

Austronesier (talk) 17:19, 8 August 2020 (UTC)

@Austronesier: Thanks man. How'z life going? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:21, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
All's great thank you. But I'm quite busy with off-wiki writing, so I mostly do just some patrolling here these days. Hope you've been fine the last 4 months. –Austronesier (talk) 08:47, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
@Austronesier: Nice to know man. I was not well actually. On 13th April, wasn't feeling well (made 3-4 edits). That night I had a severe headache. Next morning, my vision was all blurry. I stopped using my PC for the next 10-12 days as suggested by the doctor. After that I kinda avoided Misplaced Pages since editing might have caused this. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:13, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
I hope you can find the right balance. Your absence was literally noticeable with the decrease of patrol level for so many pages; but the great job you're doing should never push you beyond the physical stress-level. 500+ edits in two days is a rocket start... –Austronesier (talk) 09:31, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
@Austronesier: You are right. I got carried away with 7700+ pages in my watchlist. Or the problem may had been with checking each and every every edit when many of the articles were in good hands, like yours. I wonder if I can be that much vigilant now since I've to work a lot more IRL thanks to COVID (no helpers around), plus recently had flu like symptoms, been in a self isolation for the past 12 days (possibly it is nothing). - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:52, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
Hey, one more reason to take it slow. Take good care of yourself—which is the conditio sine qua non for taking good care of all the things/projects that are important for you. –Austronesier (talk) 10:22, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
@Austronesier: You are absolutely correct sir. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:32, 10 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi Fylind, Good to see you back. Hope you are doing well. - SUN EYE 1 17:25, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

@Suneye1: Thanks man. I was unwell. How'z life mate? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:28, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
I'm doing good, thank you for asking. I read it from the previous posts, take care of yourself. SUN EYE 1 07:50, 12 August 2020 (UTC)
@Suneye1: Thanks man. And welcome. Keep up the good work. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:06, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

I was happy to see your name again as I scrolled through my watchlist this morning; I see I'm not the only one Wham2001 (talk) 08:03, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

@Wham2001: Thanks man. I'm really honored. How are you? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:33, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
I'm well, thanks; the pandemic means I'm busier with work, but otherwise everything is pretty good. I hope you're feeling better again. Best, Wham2001 (talk) 09:09, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
@Wham2001: Yeah, lot better. But one question. Is Misplaced Pages slow in your side? I mean loading time, publishing of changes, etc? I'm having great difficulty doing it in Chrome. I'm still two days behind. Any suggestions. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:18, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
Hmm. I get that sort or behavior occasionally; a page will take many seconds to load, and sometimes I've had changes that refused to save. But right now it seems to be OK. Possibly edits from different parts of the world hit different servers and so it's a localized issue? I guess I would ask on WP:VPT. Cheers, Wham2001 (talk) 09:24, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

Birth date + age of Gurmehar Kaur

According to Famous Birthdays, her birth date is 24 September 1996 (age: 23).

I don't know how to edit infobox. Help! 😭 Honeybrowneyes (talk) 13:38, 17 August 2020 (UTC)

@Honeybrowneyes: , Famous Birthdays and similar websites like StarUnfolded, CelebsWiki, etc are not considered reliable as per WP:RSN. Find reliable sources like IndianExpress, Tribune, Times of India, The Hindu, etc that mention her DoB explicitly. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:42, 17 August 2020 (UTC)

She said she turned 23 in 2019 on her Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/p/B21Sa3HgqJ2/?igshid=qilh20c3658c). Would that be considered reliable? 🥺 Honeybrowneyes (talk) 16:02, 17 August 2020 (UTC)

@Honeybrowneyes: I've updated it as per your link. Also added twitter link, that was necessary for her exact birth date, since instagram looked like an after party on 25th Sept. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:22, 17 August 2020 (UTC)

Losing battle

Hey there, re: this, it may be a losing battle. I personally prefer crore, but I'm lazy and don't want to do the mental calculation of converting to millions or billions. That said, it might be difficult to establish a consensus that conflicts with MOS:COMMONALITY. But by all means try if you wish! Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:59, 21 August 2020 (UTC)

@Cyphoidbomb: Yeah, it is getting boring. But, unless a user is specifically interested in this, cites commonality or talks about it in the talk page, I'm not letting it change just because of some "General formatting script". I also use that script, but not in film articles. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:48, 21 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi he is back

This time with username @Heeba Aisha: created redirect to my account. Heba Aisha (talk) 23:56, 21 August 2020 (UTC)

@Heba Aisha: Which is the original user account of that person? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:13, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
@Heba Aisha: You can put an WP:SPI on him. I think, considering his edits, is a sock of another master. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:40, 22 August 2020 (UTC)

Yupp...but he's bloked again thanks to admin & u too.....yr i never had idea that nowadays also people take caste so seriously😯Heba Aisha (talk) 10:44, 22 August 2020 (UTC)

@Heba Aisha: That's because South Asians are backward. "Casteism" existed in throughout the world, but others were able to let go of it. Now we have classism, that also exists in India, more than casteism in urban regions. Even after converting to religions like Islam and Christianity which denounce casteism, people can't let of of their caste identity. Even Sikhs have major casteist problems. On a genetic level, higher and lower castes are not much different. All derive from same admixture components, with some differences in values, but higher castes and some specific castes need to behave as if they are from central Asia and lower castes behave as if they are some aboriginal people. Truth is the major part of the DNA of all South Asian castes is derived from ancient Indus Valley people. Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:01, 22 August 2020 (UTC)

BOHEMIA PAGE

Hey, Why You Remove External Links From BOHEMIA rapper Wiki Page, This is not Good, Plz Never Do That Again..! I'm a Huge fan Of Bohemia So I know Well What I do or not. HipHopAkshay (talk) 05:18, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

(talk page watcher) @HipHopAkshay: please see the guideline, WP:ELMIN, that Fylindfotberserk referred to in his edit summary. You can find it here. In general Misplaced Pages practice is to minimize the number of external links that an article has. The social media accounts that you are linking to are prominently linked from the top of the official website; hence we don't need to include them in the article. If you think that there should be an exception to the general practice for this particular article please go to Talk:Bohemia (rapper) and argue for it there. Best wishes, Wham2001 (talk) 06:27, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
@Wham2001: Couldn't have explained it better. Thanks. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:38, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi, Sairg is back as IP-hopper with familiar verbosity, can you have look at Boro people? –Austronesier (talk) 09:52, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
Update: I have filed an SPI. –Austronesier (talk) 10:10, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

@Austronesier: BANREVERTED. Thanks for that SPI. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:35, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
@Austronesier: You're wasting your time to do wrong thing. Aren't you a big lier. Are you good human being. @Fylindfotberserk: You seems to good human being. Don't fall in trap of false notion. You're revert is unacceptable. Nobody was sock.47.29.161.88 (talk) 13:04, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
Even if your edits are genuine, you are banned, so discuss in the talk page instead of edit warring. And don't call people names. As a human being, I'm good for Misplaced Pages since I follow rules, which you aren't doing. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:08, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

Yes I'm banned. So I can't create any account and I'm using IP. That wasn't added by me. That's genuine and well known thing in Boro community. I just reverted Chaipau's unnecessary edit because he try to WP:OWN the pages. I wasn't experienced, Now I've learnt the policies. I can't create and keep any account otherwise I might have got many previllege. That Ramsa thing is related to 5th century's Raghuvamsa. According to Raghuvamsa, Raghu conquered Kamarupa or Lauhitya. That's how Ramsa claim is connected to Boro people. 47.29.161.88 (talk) 13:47, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

Please revert only one specific edit, not unrelated ones.

Hi @Fylindfotberserk: on the Ravish Kumar page, I had made the following edits.

  • "This type citation arrangement is not recommended" : Is there any documentation regarding this ?
  • ".. causes problems when editing" : Split line citation is much more readable while editing; And makes edit reviews easier since the whole paragraph needs not be scanned for potential changes.
  • Why were all four reverted when you can revert only one of them as an isolated undo ?

AdithyaKL (talk) 21:22, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

That's because, one revert was not possible, had to manually restore a previous version. "Split line citation is much more readable while editing" ← Is there any consensus for this? You have to unnecessarily scroll a lot, and it takes up unnecessary space. Not to mention, most of the articles use horizontal format which makes it the preferred type.
This is wrong since it is introducing Devanagri script in the lead, which contravenes our WP:NOINDICSCRIPT policy. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 06:25, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

@Fylindfotberserk: "Is there any consensus for this?" Err.. no, I'm yet to find out how find out what the community agrees upon.
Also, Thanks for telling me about the use of Devanagiri in opening paragraphs AdithyaKL (talk) 11:10, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

Disruptive new user

Hi, can you keep a look at the edits of Onantory007, a new user who seems hell bent on anachronistically adding Bangladesh/Bangladeshi to Indian bio articles to anyone who happened to be born in territories in present-day Bangladesh. Has WP:POVPUSHed to add birth places in lead sentences in violation of MOS:BIO (to push Bangladesh in the lead), has added ethnicities in violation of WP:ETHNICITY and native scripts in violation of WP:INDICSCRIPTS. Please keep an eye here appears to be highly disruptive. Gotitbro (talk) 04:36, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

@Gotitbro: All these POV pushers from neighbouring countries I tell you. And there are some from Canada/UK. I have to revert IP edits that change "Indian" to "Punjabi" in Punjabi-language singer/actor articles often. I'll keep an eye. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:19, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for reverting the recent spate of Nepalese POVPUSH vandalism from the IP 27.34.48.109. The vandal has been active since at least late last year, likely earlier, from IP addresses usually starting with 27.34.* (keep an eye on edits from this range). Articles disrupted by him include Adrian Pradhan, Indian Gorkha, Gopal Yonzon, Aruna Lama, Ranjit Gazmer, Hira Devi Waiba, Tulsi Ghimire, Shrawan Ghimire, Niruta Singh, Phiroj Shyangden, Poornima (singer), Sunil Chhetri, Bipul Chettri, Prashant Tamang, Aditya Narayan, Prem Singh Tamang, Raju Bista, Bimal Gurung and almost every other person listed at Indian Gorkha#Notable persons . The vandal has also extensively added the category Category:Indian people of Nepalese descent to disrupted articles, please note that this category should be limited to persons whose parents/ancestors actually held Nepalese citizenship which is mentioned in the article itself not to people from the Indian Gorkha group (you seem to have missed this in your recent reverts). Gotitbro (talk) 20:50, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
@Gotitbro: Some are in my watchlist. I'll keep an eye on the others. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:11, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
God job dealing with the latest spate of vandalism from the Nepalese POVPUSHer. You missed Neeraj Zimba, Damber Singh Gurung please see if you can watch them as well. Thanks. Gotitbro (talk) 07:59, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
@Gotitbro: Yeah, WP:DNFT. I'm cool, used to be member of many internet groups since 2005, we know the lolz. These are "nausikhiyas", can only give "gaalis". The more they troll, the more they are revealing about themselves. That's why I retaliate sometimes, that helps me dig newer accounts. They get seriously offended when I reveal their old stale or lurking accounts. Only thing is they are embarrassing the whole nation that way. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 06:39, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
As for the nationalistic POVs from our neighbours, I'll keep a look at those. I've watchlisted many of the Nepali ones. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 06:39, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
Are you watching the Marwari people page? The above Nepalese POVPUSHer is now targeting that and has in the past as well, please see if you can keep an eye. Gotitbro (talk) 09:20, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
@Gotitbro: Yes, it is in my watchlist. I check my watchlist from the bottom, yet to reach it. Thanks for reverting that. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:29, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
@Gotitbro: Thanks. I'll keep an eye. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:18, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
  • Can you watch the Amjad Khan (actor), Nasir Khan (actor), Kader Khan and Yash Johar articles? Vandal IPs and new users keep POVPUSHing by either disrupting sourced information on birthplaces or replacing that with mostly WP:CIRCULAR citations (someone added unreferenced information to Misplaced Pages that is repeated by online news websites which these users try to add). I've tried to correct this by using the oldest or most reliable sources (many online Indian newspapers aren't and just repeat information from wiki, likewise databases which pull info from wiki/IMDb aren't reliable either). Please see if you keep an eye on these articles and the disruptive edits/circular references. Thanks. Gotitbro (talk) 06:43, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
@Gotitbro: Do you think this Times Now source is circular? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:08, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
Yes, that is most likely circular as well it says the same thing as the wiki article around the time, please remove it. Indian news channels and online news articles are likely to be circular, the only sources that should be considered reliable are first hand interviews or sources listed as reliable at WP:Perennial sources. Gotitbro (talk) 07:23, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
@Gotitbro:  Done, Times Now is not deprecated as of now. And is considered WP:RS here in RSN. But it is better to steer clear of biography articles like these. Recently, in WP:ICTF, we have deprecated TOI profiles. I personally use different sources for different aspects like DoB, birth place, education, personal life, etc. Most of the time when we are dealing with a single aspect, the news sources turn out to be reliable and especially if the agency is ANI, IANS or PTI. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:40, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
  • Thanks for raking care of the POVPUSHer, Luwanglinux, at Meitei people but you missed the Kangleipak addition in your reverts. Kangleipak is an alternative term for Manipur used by severe ethnic POVPUSHers and should be removed at the first instance if its inserted without any context to leads/ibs etc. Gotitbro (talk) 11:11, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
@Gotitbro:We got him blocked once. I'll take care of that. Could you take a look at this one. Known POV pusher and edit warrior who have been warned multiple times, keeps changing India→Indus or Pakistan, removing Hinduism in anything Pakistan related, prefers to replace that to Buddhism or something obscure; and Indian subcontinent→South Asia and remwith vague edit summaries. See , . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:27, 23 October 2020 (UTC)

We discovered another new one. Ugh. Chaipau (talk) 19:22, 9 November 2020 (UTC)

@Chaipau: I was going to ping you about that Facepalm Facepalm. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:27, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
I see no respite from the user that is disrupting the Kamarupa and other articles. As you know, I have engaged with him AGF in the past, but it does not work. I see no solution other than protecting the pages, keeping the talk pages open so that all can discuss and help improve them. Chaipau (talk) 09:37, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

@JoyceGW1: Thanks for communicating. Since you made changes to the consensus version without discussion, I reverted it. As for the sources, I was unable to check the some of those involved because of technical issues. I opened a discussion there asking the parties involved that helped to reach to the consensus version. Kindly wait for them to weigh in and discuss it there. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:46, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

A kitten for you too!

Hindkowans

Dear User:Fylindfotberserk, with your background in helping to improve South Asian ethnic group-related articles, I'd appreciate if you could take the time to examine the situation here and continue to offer your comments. I will be busy this month and would be grateful if you could keep an eye on things. Thanks, Anupam 15:14, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

@Anupam: Thanks for notifying me. I'll try to check that article every now and then. Though I've quite a lot of pending work to complete here in Misplaced Pages, I was out for 4 months. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:19, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

Good faith edits on Barak Valley

I included some minority languages spoken in Barak Valley, but you deleted them. I am a native of Barak valley and those languages are actually spoken there. Without including the minority languages, the information will be incomplete and it will be unfair. So I will try to find the correct reference. If you find the correct reference and add those languages I will be grateful. Truthfulsoldier (talk) 07:14, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

@Truthfulsoldier: Well I agree with, but Misplaced Pages strives for completeness rather fairness. I'll try to add census data and arrange the languages accordingly. Thanks for communicating. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:24, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for addressing my concern. Truthfulsoldier (talk) 08:07, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

Another thing is that Sylheti is actually spoken by the majority in Barak valley but it is considered as a dialect of Bengali by most people, although a few linguists also consider it to be a separate language. I as a native speaker of Sylheti can attest to the fact Standard Bengali is limited to formal and official purposes only. Sylheti may be under reported or may be unreported in census data. The situation is similar to Hindi vs Bhojpuri, Hindi vs Awadhi, etc. The 'big' languages or the Standard languages/Prestige dialects like Standard Hindi, Standard Bengali, Assamese etc. are often over represented in census data due to Socio-Political reasons. Truthfulsoldier (talk) 08:18, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

Census typically goes by what the speakers self-identify as. While Hindi is used as an umbrella term, sub languages/dialects are covered in the census like Awadhi, Magahi, Haryanvi, etc. Obviously many Awadhis or Haryanvis would say that Standard Hindi is their mother tongue. But, in the case of Sylheti, census doesn't make any distinction of the sort, despite many linguist categorizes it and Chittagonian as separate languages. Instead, we have Hajong and Rajbanshi as specific sub-languages/dialects within Bengali. In the case of Assamese, many Kachari groups say that they speak Assamese as native tongue which is not the case, seems liek only those people from autonomous regions like Bodoland identify as Bodo speakers - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:35, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

Thanks again I saw the edit you have made. It's very good. Truthfulsoldier (talk) 08:46, 3 September 2020 (UTC)

Jesse Ventura

WWE is not always the most reliable source especially when it comes to a guy who left the company 30 years ago like Ventura. Also I could cite actual WWF matches from the 80's on YouTube where they announced him 6'4" 270 lbs range. But I won't make a big deal of it and leave it as is. Just letting you know I was trying to cross reference and make his billed stats as accurate as possible. Hunterb212 (talk) 17:42, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

@Hunterb212: I get it. But the section is for "billed heights and weights". So it is better to source from the company website he wrestled in. We've done in in all retired and semi-retired wrestlers' articles like Kane, etc. If you have a video from a verified YouTube channel that mentions his stats "clearly", you can use that IMO. However do not use Cagematch or other sites deemed unreliable for this specific purpose. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:50, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

Only problem with the videos on YouTube is back in those days they only announced weight not height. So not really able to verify the height but most sources say 6'4" other than WWE. Like I said, not a big deal though, I will leave it as is I just believe WWE may have a typo for his stats on their website. Hunterb212 (talk) 18:15, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

@Hunterb212: There was a time, possibly 90s, when they would show a caption with both height and weight. I remember Adam Bomb's 6' 6'" 292 lbs, I saw as a kid. I'll keep an eye if WWE.com ever updates that . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:19, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

Question regarding metadata

@Fylindfotberserk: Good day, I was curious about how Misplaced Pages deals with the metadata of files that have been uploaded to the site. I know that most websites these days remove metadata to cloak the origins of the file however I was unsure if Misplaced Pages did the same given its open source nature. Could you clarify this for me? Prolix 💬 09:51, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

@Prolix: I beleive it is quite open. As far as images are concerned, they can be backtracked to the source. You can visit tehse links for more info. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:01, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
Fylindfotberserk, Thanks for the info. The links however don't have exactly what I was looking for. I'll keep looking Prolix 💬 10:13, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

Requesting you to take a look at the following edit:

Kindly take a look at this edit on the Andhra Pradesh article. The user seems to have a past history of contentious edits. However, I neither have the knowledge nor the experience to validate his edits, I am hoping you do or at least can get the right people involved. I feel his edits are in good faith but need to be reviewed. Thanks in advance Prolix 💬 17:44, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

His editing is poor surely, but the figures on "Guntur Mandal" (I checked that one only) seems to be correct as per this added by him add the end. I'll do the cleanup later. It seems he's in talks with another guy. There is confusion with census, the census.gov.in provides many version, MP, MP + over growth, UA, etc. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:58, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
Fylindfotberserk, the confusion over on his talk page makes sense now. Thanks for checking this out! Prolix 💬 12:29, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
@Prolix: Thanks for reminding me. I'll do the necessary cleanup. Sometimes I have this strong urge to revert edits these because of poor editing skills . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:37, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
Thanks Fylindfotberserk, I feel similarly at times, needy edits are a big issue and at times the effort required to fix them is simply not worth it. Prolix 💬 13:35, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
@Prolix: I checked a few more refs. I am unable to find matching data and the cities/towns in those. I dunno from where that user found those numbers. I'll wait for a few days to see if someone comes and cleans up his mess. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:12, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
Thanks once again for checking, Fylindfotberserk. Such edits are always hard to verify, it doesn't seem like the user is diligent in justifying his edits either. Prolix 💬 03:33, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
@Prolix: I dropped a note in his talk regarding this. Asking him to use inline referencing. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:36, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
Fylindfotberserk, He's just made another edit and added a citation. The populations for Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada don't seem to match the source, everything else looks okay. Prolix 💬 09:22, 7 September 2020 (UTC)

Partial range block

Hi, Fylindfotberserk. Per your comment at RFPP, I looked further back in the history of Yavatmal and saw there's a slightly larger range, 103.127.77.136/29, doing the same vandalism much further back. (It contains 8 possible accounts, as opposed to just 4 for 103.127.77.140/30.) So I've blocked that range for six months, from Yavatmal only. I keep forgetting to use the partial block possibility, but it seems to be just the ticket here! :-) Bishonen | tålk 16:36, 8 September 2020 (UTC).

@Bishonen: Six months, Nice . This guy has been a nuisance. Thanks a bunch. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:43, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

Re:User

Dear User:Fylindfotberserk, thanks for your message on my talk page. I unfortunately have seen this user editing around the project; it looks like most of their edits have been reversed. Imagine if these users didn't show up randomly and delete referenced information from articles. Hours that accumulate to days of our time would be saved doing something more enjoyable. I hope you're doing well. Your friend, Anupam 18:33, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

@Anupam: I've SPIed him in the past thinking this is the sock of our guy "identity". But this one seems to be from Dubai. Anyway his POV pushes are just the same. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:39, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
I'm surprised that this user didn't get blocked for WP:DUCK then; it's really easy to identify that user based on his editing behaviour. Anupam 18:41, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
@Anupam:Oops! forgot, I commented but the SPI was field by Orientls here. Admins said unlikely, but asked to notify them if disruptions from his end persists.
To my surprise, after I returned, I see his version reinstated here even after COPYVIOS. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:48, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
I appreciate you keeping an eye on those articles. I try to do so but sometimes just become frustrated with the continued POV pushing and so I just let things be. Thanks again, Anupam 18:52, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

@JurassicClassic767: Nice kitten exchange.. Thanks man. I wanted to become a palaeontologist since III standard, because of books and encyclopedias I had at my disposal. JP series came much later. It sucks that I'd to do engineering. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:14, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
Heh, the way you say it makes me laugh a bit... :P But yeah, I also had the same dreams as you when I was a little younger (to be honest, I'm still under eighteen...), but most of my attention shifted to sports and other stuff, but even if, paleontology and extinct animals still fascinates me in every way! JurassicClassic767 (talk | contribs) 17:24, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
@JurassicClassic767: Yeah... that fascination... I'm out of the league now, but to stay in touch with my inner dino-loving child, I do little bit of editing in these articles. Perhaps if I reduce my watchlist, I'd have time to properly contribute. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:41, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
Maybe you can still dream about it, heh, just kidding. But something that does suck about memorizing or knowing all kinds of paleo/dino-related things is that many people will think that you're a nerd or something, and man, I gotta admit that has happened lots of times to me. JurassicClassic767 (talk | contribs) 17:53, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
@JurassicClassic767: As a kid I used to boast being able to recite names of 60-70 dinos not stop. And my friends would go wow! But in teenage years friends were like grow up man! I used to remember things about dinos, automobiles, etc. but now... it is like..lets check Misplaced Pages. We as a people are not reading books enough. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:07, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
Hm, you're a good person to have a talk with... But yeah, technology these days, kids spending hours playing videogames and who knows what other stuff they're doing in the internet. It seems like it's always a pattern; when we're younger, we just go on and do what we really like, but as we grow, who knows what we're into, meet girls, haha! But yeah, it's most certainly and obviously true, and it's the same here... :) JurassicClassic767 (talk | contribs) 18:23, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

That's right again! Oh, and about the dino stuff before, maybe we can collaborate together? Of course, I'll understand if you don't have time, I'm also lacking time myself, that's why I mostly do light edits. Oh, and thanks for all the thanks, or should I say... You are welcome! See Kazi Nazrul Islam Wikifulness (talk) 01:54, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

@Wikifulness: If you are getting irritated by a Misplaced Pages policy, it is your problem. Go throguh WP:NOINDICSCRIPT again. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 06:41, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

If native name of this page Kazi Nazrul Islam is applicable, then what's wrong with Alpana Goswami? Wikifulness (talk) 09:17, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

@Wikifulness: Because Kazi Nazrul Islam was a Bangladeshi citizen, but Goswami is an Indian citizen. It doesn't apply to people from Bangladesh, Nepal or Pakistan. Likewise it applies to people from British India, who died before partition. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:24, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
you ever feel these indiscriminate applications of NOINDIC might be doing more bad than good? It was designed to avoid people jamming multiple scripts and warring over script orders in infoboxes. I've seen that happen with mostly South India languages. But sometimes things and people are unambiguously associated with one script, such as poets, writers etc. I've even seen people removing Indic scripts from shows whose original name is written in Indic scripts (e.g. Chhoti Anandi). Maybe NOINDIC policy needs overhaul, some exceptions should be added. Opinion? Regards, TryKid07:37, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
@TryKid: I don't see anything bad with this policy. It is NPOV and totally maintains equality. Besides, it is an English Misplaced Pages. One can always add IPA and/or IAST versions when needed. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:49, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
TryKid, I don't know how much value my opinion holds in this matter but I feel the policy is a tad too restrictive and could use a few exceptions. Almost all other languages have their place on en-wiki but India's inherent diversity has become an issue that editors refuse to solve. We've managed to figure out a lot of complicated matters on this site, an outright ban on languages spoken by over a billion people seems like the lazy way to handle things, but I digress. Prolix 💬 19:44, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
That's the thing. When there are hundreds of languages spoken by 1.4 billion people, there would be unnecessary edit warring in articles. Consider actress Sridevi, she has worked in many languages. Editors would add her name in their preferred languages, result we get 6-7 version of her name in Indian scripts. No..her ethnicity wouldn't mean much, people will add those. Even now you'll find people rearranging Tamil and Telugu in the lead despite clear instructions that it is based on the number of films. Ohh.. And multi-lingual films.. Saaho, RRR, etc. Names of places also, like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, etc where many kind of speakers live. Can't handle scripts of all official and scheduled languages in the lead. Even in religious articles only Sanskrit script and/or IAST is preferred. It is different from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, etc since they only have a "national language". - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:35, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
Fylindfotberserk, I'm not here to claim that such issues do not exist. They do, but again they're not universal to all topics related to India. India already has an 'official' language' called Hindi, least we could do is let that be used for articles relating to official matters of the country. There's definitely a better way to go about this that we're missing, and I'd like to see a discussion about it at least. The lack of willingness to even consider another option is what I find most appalling. Prolix 💬 08:04, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
Hindi is co-official of the union, but it is not official in many states. On top of that, some states have granted additional official status to few other languages. Delhi, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Haryana, etc. All these questions were raised in the consensuses. Initially I was also agianst this policy, but now it seems more neutral to me.. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:12, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
Fylindfotberserk, I have no particular issues with it now either but I would like to see an RfC again at some point. Prolix 💬 08:27, 13 September 2020 (UTC)

Are such edits okay?

Hi Fylindfotberserk, I've seen a lot of edits like this recently. I understand how such information would make sense in articles about a timeline of events but I feel every minor development doesn't belong on a company's page as per WP:NOTNEWS. Am I interpreting the policy correctly or is my reasoning here not adequate? Prolix 💬 19:25, 12 September 2020 (UTC)

@Prolix: While the section is about the chronology of the development of the vaccines, day-to-day reporting is not necessary. IMO the two sentences:
As of September 10, 2020 it has been reported that Serum Institute has halted vaccine trials in India after intervention from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI). This comes when the vaccine trial had to be halted in Oxford after a volunteer developed illness following the dosage. As of 12 September 2020, the vaccine trials are reported to be resumed after receiving a nod from the DGCI as AstraZeneca announced it has got a go-ahead from British regulators.
can be merged together into something like In September 2020 trials were halted by DGCI after a volunteer in Oxford developed illness following dosage, but resumed back following a consent by the British regulators.
Words and phrases like "are reported to" should be avoided as per WP:WEASEL. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:15, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
Fylindfotberserk, I agree a simple short sentence seems to make most sense. I hope you don't mind me using your example, its succinct and gets the message across. Prolix 💬 08:30, 13 September 2020 (UTC)

Regarding this...

Hello Fylindfotberserk , someone is adding mythological stories which are unreferenced on Sengar page. Please check it.

Reddi Kingdom

Hello, Can i know the exact reason for removing my contribution. You've quoted that sources are not reliable?? Have you gone through all the multiple sources I've provided. There are 3 official government district websites of Telangana with their history. Have you read that?? Aren't they considered as reliable. Some of them the articles are from leading newspapers of Telugu and they were meant for preparing State public services. Don't you think they are reliable?? Do you think civil servants read wrong material. If you think them as unreliable, you should have removed that part and should not have touched Government official sources. I've contributed data by gathering so much data so that someone can get to know proper history. Please don't delete data just at a click by saying "Unreliable sources"!! These acts only make people discourage to contribute in Misplaced Pages. Go through my references again and if you feel it is disruptive editing then you have your freedom. I can see you are an engineer from prestigious NAtional of Technology and don't forget to trust government sources atleast!! I hope I've not done any disruptive editing and I hope you will vet the data properly sir!! Bsr465 (talk) 13:14, 14 September 2020 (UTC)

You have redone again!! Fine I'm not going to edit it again as I'm amused with your behaviour!! You are denying authentic data by denying government sources. But let me tell you that's reliable data and factual!! The Only major historical research texts that printed data is historian B.N Sarma's book. If its not that one could only read such information either in Government History texts, Government websites or State services books. But anyway as per Wiki policy youve said they are not compliant!! I'm ok with your decision and this is absolutely denying of rightful data for learners in the name of policy in my sense!! I would be happy to know if you could tell how could someone contribute to Wiki if reliable sources like Archeological and Historical research journals are available offline and not a single copy is presently available online!! Thank you Mr. Engineer from National Institute of Technology for letting me know this policy!! Bsr465 (talk) 13:38, 14 September 2020 (UTC)

desiblitz

Hi Fylindfotberserk. In these you removed desiblitz saying it is not considered reliable by WP:ICTF. I am not an expert in this area, but I thought desiblitz was considered reliable, at least for Desi music. Could you point me to the discussion where the consensus was achieved? I could not locate it in the WT:ICTF archives. --Muhandes (talk) 12:40, 15 September 2020 (UTC)

@Muhandes: It's more about inclusion of what kind of sources are considered reliable. Both WP:ICTF and WP:ICTFFAQ have a list of reliable sources. There are many, Filmibeat, DailyHunt, Koimoi, DesiBlitz, IWMBuzz, TellyChakkar, Starunfolded, etc that are not considered reliable and not all are listed, but those are removed/replaced with better RS sources whenever possible in a BLP. You can ask at WP:RSN or WP:ICTF if you want. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:57, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
Thanks, I just wanted to make sure it is not considered strictly unreliable. --Muhandes (talk) 15:05, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
@Muhandes: Well anything that isn't part of the list or from the standard news agencies are 'strictly unreliable' IMO. And most guys at WP:ICTF tries to improve on those sources. However if the DesiBlitz has an Award that bears their name like for example DesiBlitz Music Awards or something, then we have to take it as a reliable source for that specific content, isin't it? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:13, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
I don't object to any of that. Have fun. --Muhandes (talk) 20:57, 15 September 2020 (UTC)

Please can you tell me or can you plz change the Cause Of Death that reads "Suicide By Hanging" which is not right. With all due respect to you and the Misplaced Pages Team,i on behalf of THE SSRians, the fan and extended family of Sushant Singh Rajput, request you to please edit his Misplaced Pages page. His cause of death says: "Suicide by hanging" which is not right. No one has seen him or any of his pic, hanging? Not even Mumbai police saw him hanging. Please can you tell me how to do it or can you make the amendments as investigation is still on. Since the investigation is still ongoing, can we not leave that section blank? Atleast we should wait for the investigation to be over. I hope u will consider this and make the changes. RadhaRickk (talk) 04:48, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

@RadhaRickk: Go through the section Sushant Singh Rajput#Death. You will find that every thing is written as per the news sources. The recent investigation by the CBI is still going on, if they find something on murder, that will be reflected in the article. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 06:59, 16 September 2020 (UTC)

Agree with you but when India Today claimed that their sources from CBI have confirmed them that CBI is only looking at suicide angle then CBI clearly released a statement saying n i quote " NO details have been shared with anyone" n that CBI DISMISSES INDIA TODAY report which claimed MURDER angle has been Ruled Out. I totally understand that murder cant be mentioned unless proved but shouldn't it b left blank as investigation is still ongoing. writing "suicide by hanging" is also not right as no one has a proof of that either. All i am requesting is it to be left blank or "invetigation ongoin" which is actually true as even in news that's what they are sayin. No news is claiming any longer that Sushant committed suicide. All are saying that the agencies are investigating. So shouldn't that be mentioned. Writing SUICIDE is completely wrong. Neither the news channels nor the investigating agencies are saying that it was a suicide. Even AIIMS doctors who came to help CBI suggested them to investigate d case as a murder angle... RadhaRickk (talk) 13:07, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

Sorry can't do. Discuss in relevant article talk pages and gain consensus. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:23, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

Please clarify

Hey bud, I noticed you changed my edits on Bengali Muslims; removing Assamese Muslims from the infobox because it's a redirect to Islam in Assam. But isn't this the same as your contribution; Indian Muslims redirects to Islam in India? I agree with "similar to Bihari Muslims" but you also didn't add that.

So basically what I am trying to say is I am a bit confused with your edit. Is it not best to say the similar groups are the Muslims of Odisha, Bihar and Assam? UserNumber (talk) 18:04, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

@UserNumber: Islam in Assam includes info on differnt ethnic populations living in Assam who are adherents to Islam. Multiple ethnic groups are mentioned there, including Boros, Desis, Bengalis, etc. Islam in India and Indian Muslims can be used interchangeably since there Indian is not an ethnicity. Moreover, A specific population may link to more than 2-3 groups based on history. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:12, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi

GOOD MORNING; congrats for badge update, thanks for edit on Koeri and i m sorry for u to see that you are also facing disturbing elements on ur talk page.Heba Aisha (talk) 01:29, 18 September 2020 (UTC)

Good morning Heba Aisha. That seems like a caste mongering Kayastha person who for some reason harbors inferiority complex against Brahmins. Neil Nitin Mukesh's father in an interview with Karan Thapar explained his ancestry which funnily is not in the order which this caste mongerer wanted, ie Mr. Nitin Mukesh mentions his mothers cast which is a "Brahmin Shrimali Guajarati" first, then mentions his fathers caste "Mathur Kayastha" . Now I do not add castecruft in BLP articles for obvious reasons like self-identification which makes it tedious to find relevant sources. And that video source was added by someone else in 2018. As per Misplaced Pages rules of self-identification I was maintaining the order in which the the castes are mentioned in the video source. Furious with his fragile patriarchal ego, he tried to change the order and outright remove Gujarati in the past (you can check the history in 2018, 2019 as well as the Talk:Neil Nitin Mukesh) under various sockpuppets. These caste warriors think they have a bigger say on the personal lives of notable peoples than the latter themselves. Amitabh Bachchan and his renowned father have denounced caste themselves, but these goons need to add it again and again. Same is the case with Jats, Rajputs, Bhumihars. Articles related to these castes have become so much of a problem that Misplaced Pages had to take special measures. Now Kayasthas have started it and promptly got the main article ec-protected. Typical logic by these goons, if you edit something not in accordance with their preferences, you are a hater and belong to another caste (also based on your edit), I've been called a racist Jat for maintaining sourced caste info in some Jat Sikh articles, A Paksitani for following WP:COMMONNAME in Allahabad, Faizabad, and otehr similar articles and also an "anti-Pakistani Indian" by Pakistani POV pushers; Ironically an anti-Jat Sikh also and a Modi's Hindu zealot for removing Gurdas Maan's unsourced birth place . Also note the ridiculous ref names . I've been called a British for that Allahabad thing, An Ahom as well as an Assamese Kalita dog for reverting changes made by a Boro ethnic warring sock farm, A Chitpavan and ironically a Deshastha, also someone against Saraswat Brahmins. I was also implied to be anti-Russian and an anti-Santal as well. Following the current situation of that Kayastha calling be a Brahmin POV editor, it is ironic that I've been implied to being an Anti-Brahmin in the past for not adding Sunil Dutt and Yogeshwar Dutt's caste. Also called a Tarkhan few days back, you can see at the top. I take these lightly as jingoist rants by people with fragile egos. But I am ashamed that these only bolsters the primitive caste-warring image of South Asians in Misplaced Pages. I wonder someday someone will call me a Koeri/anti-Koeri . Ironically most of my edits are film, settlement, politics and paleontology related not castes. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:27, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
Also see this, according to the user me and others are radical Muslims (sudapi a slang for that as well as followers of Social Democratic Party of India who are mostly Muslims). Funny LOL! - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:53, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
Do you know .....the person who created multiple accounts to disturb me was also Kayastha as he misunderstood the quotes added by Sitush to be added by me.From that incident i m refraining from caste articles in major edits only doing minor edits while contributing more to governance related articles. And don't care about them, i even found a sockpuppetry investigation against Sitush on google which was related to similar reasons.Heba Aisha (talk) 11:54, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
Heba Aisha Please do continue with your edits on caste articles. Don't get disheartened by dumbassery of some people who are best suited to their caste mongering gangs in Middle-of-nowhere, India. No wonder they get banned. This guy is probably Nikhil Srivastava. He has a habit of making sock accounts that sound similar to the user names he has problems with Dog Valour for Doug Weller, Ek Dallian for EkDalian, Dinpoce for Dinopce, Shitooz and Shitush for Sitush. And those obvious doppelgangers accounts based on your user name. Look at his case page here. He probably saw me in your talk page, and started attacking me for the Neil Nitin Mukesh caste format. These idiots get so far with their caste mongering that they like to bring down their own country just to spite someone. His own words "People in India defecate on the streets. Over 80% of India is a destroyed open sewer where people don't have running water and sanitation. Your "Aryan Brahmins" defecate in the open too." also called me a "pajeet" a slur for smelly hairy curry eating Indians. This is the type of nationalism this so-called Kayastha seem to harbour and at the same time he considers Netaji as his idol. How ironic. Kayasthas died for this country and so did every caste. These are just fake poser. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:26, 18 September 2020 (UTC)

Talk:Sushant Singh Rajput

Fylindfotberserk, with respect, I'd like to follow up your 08:14, 17 September 2020 contribution to Sushant Singh Rajput's talk page. (Please excuse me for doing so here, but I have recused myself from that page as a misfit.) In the context of a thread about edit requests and other comments protesting Misplaced Pages's description of SSR's death as suicide, you assert: I don't think there is any cultural and/or religious thing in this. Instead, you attribute these objections to the belief that SSR was murdered. However, a search of the current talk page and its two archives finds 319 mentions of suicide + 8 killed himself but only 75 occurrences of murder. Please understand, I am not disputing your overall interpretation of Indian public opinion. I am inquiring solely about Talk:Sushant Singh Rajput. I would like to know why you think there is no cultural and/or religious component to these edit requests. Specifically, how did you ascertain that the viral photos and videos you cite influenced Misplaced Pages contributors? NedFausa (talk) 19:08, 18 September 2020 (UTC)

@NedFausa: That's because India ranks 16th in the rate of suicide by countries. Though Hinduism and Islam view it as "unacceptable", people kill themselves quite a lot. Recently, Kushal Punjabi committed suicide. There was no fuss about it since no viral pictures of the dead body, no whistleblowers, etc to engage those self-styled internet detectives. In the case of Rajput, there were a lot of suspicious activities noticed by the public, lacunae in police investigation, and some things that do not add up. I've trawled a lot of social media and the general consensus is he died under mysterious circumstances leaning towards murder. These very people, fuelled by net logic and judgment are the ones requesting those edits in my opinion. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:15, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

National Action Plan on Climate Change (India)

I created it with caution complying with policies like WP:POV and source used are third party independent sources. But a user tagged it as promotional. It is not actually as no external commercial website etc are used and target statements are confused as promotional by him. Plz seeking ur feed back on articles talk page where i m contesting against speedy deletion. The user nominated it due to his confusion with the subject. Wanted to start a discussion about images on Uttarakhand Comment

Hi @Fylindfotberserk:, a few days ago I noticed that the infobox collage in this article was of very poor quality and instead of the standard amalgamation of multiple images this article had a single merged image which hinders replaceability and quality. So I thought I'd start a discussion on Talk:Uttarakhand regarding the infobox images and gather recommendations from other editors. However, I've never done such a thing before and I figured I should seek your guidance in this matter. Do help me out here! Prolix 💬 12:19, 22 September 2020 (UTC)

@Prolix: Can't remember any policy against collages. Couldn't find anything on this while skimming these links MOS:IMAGES; WP:IBI either. This collage in Uttarakhand article is low resolution and ugly. GA status article Delhi has a better quality collage but at the same time GA Mumbai has a group of images. You start a discussion in the Talk:Uttarakhand mentioning the low quality of the images in the collage. Atleast I'll vote for a change. I always thought it can be improved. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:35, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
Fylindfotberserk, I already had a small discussion with an editor regarding the low quality images. I think on most articles, a group of images is the norm. So it would be better to shoot for that. The issue here is which images? I would be glad to add commons images according to my discretion but that wouldn't be a fair way of doing things. Which is why I wanted image suggestions and input. Either ways the current image needs to be replaced, could you guide me along the consensus process for infobox images? Prolix 💬 14:55, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
@Prolix: Make a proposal of a group of images in the talk page. If anybody objects, then we can have a discussion. Would be better if you find images of locations already present in the collage (less people to go against your proposal). - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:00, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
Fylindfotberserk, that's fair, I'll make a sample infobox collage and put it up on there. Not sure if I'll be able to find all the images in the current collage but I'll try. Do I have to message frequent editors of the page to let them know of the discussion? Prolix 💬 15:05, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
@Prolix: IMO you should ping those frequent editors, better for a strong onsensus. You don't have to find all images, some specifics like temples, famous locales, etc that are present in the current collage. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:18, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
Fylindfotberserk, luckily all the images in the collage were linked, I may have to replace one or two because of low quality. I'll be sure to message the editors, you'll be first! Prolix 💬 15:38, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
@Prolix: Nice . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:41, 22 September 2020 (UTC)

Requesting your input on Uttarakhand's talk page

Hi Fylindfotberserk, since you have made edits on Uttarakhand before, I am sending you this message to alert you of a discussion on its talk page regarding the replacement of images in the infobox. Your input in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Prolix 💬 17:42, 22 September 2020 (UTC)

I've taken the liberty of semi protecting your talk page due to persistent sock-puppetry. I'm happy to lift it if you'd prefer. Just let me know. Thanks. Glen (talk) 13:19, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

Indian Political Articles

Hello there, curious to know if you have good hand on Indian Political Articles. I was checking some of the articles related to Indian National Congress and leaders associated with it, highly exploited. So, if you are good at it need your help taking Rahul Gandhi to a GA level.--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  16:01, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

@25 Cents FC: I've quite a lot of pending changes to see. But since Rahul Gandhi's article is in my watchlist, I'll definitely try to help. If not anything, I'll do cleanups and copyedits. Thanks for asking. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:30, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
Thanks a lot. Let me know once you are done with cleanups and copyedits, I will add sources and expand the article little more.--25 CENTS VICTORIOUS  07:34, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
@25 Cents FC: You carry on with the improvement, I'll let you know. Atleast in the meantime I'll take care of vandalism and cleanup/copyedit in the article. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:18, 24 September 2020 (UTC)

Help needed...

Hi Fylindfotberserk, I added some info on Seuna (Yadava) dynasty page and someone removed it without particularly pointing to any specific issue. What was wrong with the content or its reference? Please take a look at this removal HinduKshatrana (talk) 13:00, 26 September 2020 (UTC)

@HinduKshatrana: Well, it seems you have moved to talk page as per WP:BRD. Lets see what the other user has to say. If your content is well-sourced then you'll not have problem re-instating it. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:23, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for checking it out Fylindfotberserk. I've started the discussion for it on TP. How long should I wait before reinstating it back if no one replies or have objection with it? HinduKshatrana (talk) 14:36, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
@HinduKshatrana: Atleast a day or two. If the other user is editing WIkpedia but ignoring your comments at the talk, you should ping them first. Give them a day, then restore it with relevant comments on talk page. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:39, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
@Fylindfotberserk: Ok. Gotcha. Thanks for the help:-) HinduKshatrana (talk) 14:54, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
Hi @Fylindfotberserk:, it's been days since anyone has joined the talks on the Seuna (Yadava) dynasty page so I've re-added back the information that was reverted. HinduKshatrana (talk) 10:37, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
@HinduKshatrana: You did the right thing. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:42, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
This is gross. The other editor had reverted with no explanation except for "Please discuss this on talk page before adding content", and then left the scene without trace. That's ultimate dickishness LOL. This example should be added in the guidelines about how BRD does not work. –Austronesier (talk) 07:54, 2 October 2020 (UTC)
@Austronesier: Inviting someone to the talk page and then no-showing is copybook dickish behavior. Perhaps WP:BRD-NOT applies to that person's behaviour. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 08:09, 2 October 2020 (UTC)

script edit

In University of Calicut, you removed "https://" from within {{url}}. I believe that is incorrect, only "http://" is unnecessary. MB 15:32, 28 September 2020 (UTC)

@MB: I was using a script. "http//" doesn't seem necessary. You can use the syntax {{URL|xyz.com}} as per Template:URL. I've fixed the incorrect URL though. It is "uoc". It is opening fine. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:41, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
If the script automatically removes "https://", {{url}} will add "http://" when creating the actual URL which is not the same. https is far more secure and should be used if available. This is my point. I am not exactly clear what the scrip does.
If the script removes "http://", {{url}} will add "http://" back and there is effectively no change so this change is just cosmetic. MB 16:06, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
@MB: The script removes the HTTP. That part is cosmetic, but other changes done by that script is quite important. I've added "https://". - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:13, 28 September 2020 (UTC)

Meitei

Luwanglinux (talk) 11:36, 29 September 2020 (UTC)Hello, I am glad you take interest in my edits at article Meitei but you seem to be biased on something I provide facts and links...do not try to vandalise an article just because you can. Meitei do have close progeny link with Lai,Tai,Pong it can be found from historical facts..and there is indeed meitei people at USA,Korea,Nepal. they even have organisation like NAMA..

@Luwanglinux: Thanks for communicating. We do not put historical descent in the lead section, which is best served in the History section. See any FA, GA status articles. As for the presence of Meitei in some countries, add content with proper sources and numbers. The lead and the infobox as of now is properly sourced without any bias. And DO NOT put terms like "Mongoloid" in the lead. It is disruptive. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:41, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

Luwanglinux (talk) 11:57, 29 September 2020 (UTC)Well we need to find true history first.. Meitei is just a term and we fall under mongoloid category first before any classification.Meitei once represented a nation even the thing you mention Tibeto Burman fall under Mongoloid...I am stating physical facts here.. and please do search our link with lai tai pong tq

@Luwanglinux:'Mongoloid', 'Caucasoid', 'Negroid' like terms are not added in ethnic articles. Try doing that in Han people article and see. This is the rule here. Also the lead section should not write descent, etc. Not to mention you are adding unsourced stuff as well. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:01, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

@Fylindfotberserk please stop adding tibeto burmese meitei are not burmese and meitei language family is of Sino Tibetan do some research please you may be administrator but don't misuse power — Preceding unsigned comment added by Luwanglinux (talkcontribs) 12:26, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

@Luwanglinux: Do some research first. Go to the Tibeto-Burman languages article which includes Meitei. Your aversion to teh use of this term and repeated addition of Mongoloid and now East Asian, (Manipur is not in East Asia), shows your POV. And it looks like you try to WP:OWN the article. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:42, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

Luwanglinux (talk) 13:09, 29 September 2020 (UTC) Ah you need some research in Meitei too. we are talking about a ethnic group not a state or language.I am stating fact we are east asian ethnic. Also know this for certain Meitei is not a wanabe group who fabicate history..I think you have some aggenda behind your tibeto burmese...I wanted to state about meitei physical facts and origin. Are u a meitei? do you know better than a meitei about meitei peace dude wikipedia is a source of knowledge..

@Luwanglinux: I don't have any agenda behind, and you should learn how Misplaced Pages works. Meitei are not East Asian. They live in India which is in South Asia. We do not add obsolete racial terms like "Mongoloid" in ethnic articles which seems to be the "physical facts" you are trying to imply. Adding race in article leads, which you are doing shows some kind of propaganda.
I'm reiterating again, Tibeto-Burman languages is a linguistic grouping in which teh Meitei language falls. We can have a middle ground, that is we write it as The Meitei people (also known as Manipuri) are an ethnic group indigenous to the state of Manipur in northeastern India who speak the Meitei language. similar to the Greek people article which is of GA high quality status. That way we do not have to write either "Tibeto-Burman" or the incorrect geographical identifier "East Asian". Pinging @Chaipau and Austronesier: would you weigh in. -Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:24, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

@Luwanglinux: We don't racially classify ethnic groups here in Misplaced Pages. Races are pseudo-science, and promoting racialism is basically a political agenda, which has no place in an encyclopedia. On the oher hand, language classification is mainstream science, and the classification of Meitei as a Tibeto-Burman language is uncontroversial. For this reason, the Meitei people can be characterized as a "Tibeto-Burman" or better: "Tibeto-Burman-speaking" ethnic group in the opening statement of the article. –Austronesier (talk) 13:34, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

@Luwanglinux: agree with Austronesier and Fylindfotberserk. Please do not use racial types in Misplaced Pages. The linguistic classification does not connote race or even ethnicity per se. Chaipau (talk) 14:59, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
@Luwanglinux:Stop adding "East Asian" as a racial identifier as you did here again!. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:05, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

oh visit article like Korean people, American people Tamil people see if you can remove those identifier. why do you guys think north east people know nothing..what is so wrong with adding an identifier in an ethnic article...?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Luwanglinux (talkcontribs) 15:12, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

@Luwanglinux: Manipur is a state of India, a country in South Asia. Feel free to add South Asian. –Austronesier (talk) 15:17, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
@Luwanglinux: What's with Korean people and Tamil people? Koreans live in East Asia and Tamils speak a Dravidian language. Where is the racial identifier? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:18, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

Luwanglinux (talk) 15:12, 29 September 2020 (UTC) Luwanglinux (talk) 15:25, 29 September 2020 (UTC)why did you delete the history I wrote about Meitei origin do you want to say the origin of Meitei is not certain? I have proof for that thing I written it is even verified by national archive delhi @Fylindfotberserk you are really misusing power.write whatever you want about meitei I am ready to expose all facts — Preceding unsigned comment added by Luwanglinux (talkcontribs) 15:30, 29 September 2020 (UTC)

As you have edited that article before, I'd be grateful if you could watch it, as I just now noticed these edits. With regards, Anupam 21:15, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

@Anupam: I've seen that edit, that article is in my watchlist. I was waiting for somebody to make the necessary changes. This guy is a run of the mill anti-Indian Pakistani you come across in youtubes and facebooks who believe they are alien to this sub-continent. Especially this shows his low level mentality. Thanks for the changes. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 05:34, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
Remember this guy, he's changing India to Indus valley or Pakistan everywhere he can, only to get reverted by others. This one seems like a meat of the above one since after the very first few edits of the latter, I filed an SPI and the results were negative. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 05:40, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

Wow...

This month will mark the 1 year of when I started this account, that was so long ago... I was looking at all the questions I asked at the start. It's crazy that I'm now am awswering those question. Looking at some of the question now makes me things why did I not know that, or why did I ask for rollback with 16 mainspace edits (nothing copmpared to my 1000 mainspace edits.) Well I guess we just wait for one year. Best, Signed,The4lines |||| 18:26, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

@The4lines: Everybody has to start somewhere. It feels nice to see your name pop up in my watchlist and in recent changes. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:35, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

MMA stats

Hey I need your advice as a highly experienced editor. I am being reprimanded by a fellow editor named Cassiopeia for trying to improve accuracy of MMA fighter stats. First I updated some pages to ESPN stats for height and weight and he messaged me saying I was vandalising pages even though I was giving official cited and accurate sources for my edits. He told me we use Sherdog for MMA fighter stats exclusively and that we don't cite other sources unless stats are unavailable on Sherdog. So then I followed his instructions and changed the weight on a fighters page to reflect the stats on Sherdog which didn't match up. He also reprimanded me for this and reverted my edit which I consider to be completely contradictory to what he just told me previously. So I'm somewhat confused on what is acceptable as an official cited source for MMA profiles and I am wondering what I am doing wrong here? He seems to be contradicting himself and has threatened to block for editing when I am using official cited sources and attempting to genuinely improve accuracy. Hunterb212 (talk) 19:22, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

@Hunterb212: Are there guidelines for MMA topics similar to WP:PW/RS? In the past I had a run in with Cassiopeia and I did the same thing, changed as per Sherdog. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:41, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

Hmm not sure but yes he comes off as pretty hostile as well immediately threatened to block me from editing after I made an edit and provided an accurate source as well. Not sure why he is against ESPN stats for MMA fighters because ESPN is actually more accurate than Sherdog as they update fighter stats after every weigh in which Sherdog does not do. And like I said when I used Sherdog stats instead he still reverted it and continued to threaten blocking me which just left me confused lol. Hunterb212 (talk) 19:51, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

Hunterb212 This kind of behavior is not justified. You can go to ANI. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:02, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

He finally backed off once I started using Sherdog stats only. Also he demands that you don't use citations next to height and weight because MMA pages have cite Sherdog at the bottom of the infobox. I just found it crazy how he came at me for using ESPN stats which to me is probably a more official and reliable source than Sherdog is. I probably won't report him though unless he starts up again. Thanks for the advice though wish they were more friendly editors on here who didn't automatically assume you have bad intentions and want to vandalize pages which I certainly am not about that. I only try to improve pages and make them more accurate. Hunterb212 (talk) 00:48, 6 October 2020 (UTC)

Hunterb212 They obviously have some WP:OWN issues. Even if they want it their way, the method is to discuss in the talk page of the article, not bombard your opponent with warnings, especially since all you are doing is putting good sources and acting in good faith. Ask them next time to point to a policy on why sherdog is better, instead of anecdotal evidences like ESPN joined hands with Sherdog etc. In Pro-Wrestling, we have a clear rules. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 05:54, 6 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi Fylindfotberserk , can you guide me to archiving discussions that are there on my personal Talk page? -- HinduKshatrana (talk) 09:14, 9 October 2020 (UTC)

Ramya Krishnan

Hi, I know you keep an eye on the page (as I do). I don't know what the Islamic editor is all about really; wrong place for his hate messages! But, instagram is one of the sites actually mentioned at WP:ELNO in the bit about social media. Cheers. Eagleash (talk) 19:20, 9 October 2020 (UTC)

@Eagleash: Yeah, but I'm adding it as per WP:ELMIN, WP:ELOFFICIAL and WP:Twitter-EL, especially in the last one it says "Exceptions are made for official links when the subject of the article has no other Web presence". This specific IP hopper has been hounding me for the past one month. Many admins know about it. We have been whack-a-moling and range-blocking a lot, but it keeps on going. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:34, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
OK, but Instagram doesn't really equate to Twitter in any respect though; it's a third- or fourth-rate social media imaging offshoot of Facebook and posts don't carry the same gravitas at all. But if she's got no other accounts, I suppose it might have to do. Eagleash (talk) 20:30, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
@Eagleash: I search for Twitter or Facebook first. If there's nothing else then Instagram. Lately, I've seen a lot of fake profiles in Twitter, possibly the reason why many celebs are migrating to Instagram. And as for posts, any thing of value from a verified Insta profile like birthday is very much reliable to cross verify with IMO. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:22, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

Why you removed upper caste

What are you thinking it will not change the fact. ANTROBAROTICS (talk) 19:41, 9 October 2020 (UTC)

@ANTROBAROTICS: Already Brahmin is mentioned. We do not have upper-caste mentioned in articles like Dwivedi, Chaturvedi, etc. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:43, 9 October 2020 (UTC)

Go check your Christan article surnames. You clearly mentioned about caste . First do it in your religion than in others. ANTROBAROTICS (talk) 09:24, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

@ANTROBAROTICS: Which Christian articles? Muslims and Christians do not have castes. Check the Dwivedi, Chaturvedi, Tomar, Sekhon, etc. Any mention that those are upper-lower-mid castes? YOu are trying to add something which is unnecessary and redundant. Brahmins is already mentioned. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:29, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

CHRISTANS HAVE IF YOU DON'T KNOW ITS LACK OF KNOWLEDGE. TELL ME HAVE YOU READ THE BOOKS SANATANA DHARMA SINDREMASYA ANTROBAROTICS (talk) 09:30, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

@ANTROBAROTICS: I don't know what you are talking about. Bring me Christian articles that mention castes. Please do it. If you try to add that phrase "they belong to upper-caste" in Tiwari article, then people will demand every other caste article to have that. Maintain parity. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:35, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

Its was mentioned in every article but people like you. Came and removed it. Let People edit themselves in every other articles. Bhraman doesn't mean Caste it is activity that is Followed by people from upper caste. Kindly read the book for more information. ANTROBAROTICS (talk) 09:38, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

@ANTROBAROTICS: Misplaced Pages is not your personal blog. We do not mention upper, lower and mid caste in surname articles. And Brahmin is a caste as per common parlance in Misplaced Pages. Kindly understand that. Follow Misplaced Pages rules. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:44, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

SHOW ME THE LEGAL DOCUMENTS. THAT ALLOWS YOU TO ABUSE OUR CULTURE BY MODIFICATION OF CONTEXT. TO MANIPULATE AUDIENCE IN THE MATTER OF CONFLICT. ANTROBAROTICS (talk) 12:01, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

@ANTROBAROTICS: What abuse? ONly that mention of upper caste is unnecessary in that article. Stop displaying WP:OWN behavior. Nobody is manipulating anything. Indians know that Tiwaris are Brahmins thus upper castes and foreigners do not even care. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:07, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

IF YOU DON'T CARE WHY ARE YOU EDITING THIS PAGE ANTROBAROTICS (talk) 12:09, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

@ANTROBAROTICS: I've been editing this page before even you started editing it. DO not add useless information in the article. Maintain parity with otehr caste articles. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:10, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

You said above foreigner dont and and you yourself is editing. ANTROBAROTICS (talk) 12:12, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

Most of the editing on Indian articles are made by Americans and English speakers. Some of the GA and FA articles. You don't have to be from one community to edit another community's articles.- Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:15, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

With the lack of knowledge. You can't edit. ANTROBAROTICS (talk) 12:32, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

First, enlighten yourself on how to edit Wiki articles. Visit Help:Introduction which was posted in your talk page, seems like you haven't gone through it. Also see WP:V on why each newly added content needs sources in support and how to identify reliable sources. Also go through links like WP:BRD, WP:CIR, WP:OR. Just because you can easily edit Misplaced Pages articles doesn't mean it has no policies and guidelines. Note that Misplaced Pages is an Encyclopedia. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:56, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

Durga

Stp putting fake information on the durga page under sikhism 1699arshsher (talk) 23:05, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

@1699arshsher: I'm following what the source is saying. You are the one putting original researches in the article. The accompanying source doesn't say "Durga is the worker of the divine" like you are trying to put, instead it says The Sikh literature that univocally exalts the divine as Durga, the Goddess is a composition traditionally attributed to Guru Gobind Singh in th Dasam Grath. The source also talks about the uneasiness Sikhs have with this view. All of the para is well-sourced. Do not change that as per your POV. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:06, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

Help regarding a page.

Hi again Fylindfotberserk , there's some Sumit Banaphar guy removing cited information from Jadeja and Parmar page. And surprisingly an IP editor was correct on Jadeja page. Actual lineage is always far better and important than mythological claims. Do check it out, you might know better what to do in this one. Thanks. HinduKshatrana (talk) 13:45, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

@HinduKshatrana: I'd say restore to Sitush's version as far as article body is concerned which seems the last good. As far as "notable people" goes, the policy is that a person bearing a surname that links to a specific caste doesn't necessarily mean that that the person belongs to that caste. Is there any separate surname article on Jadeja? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:02, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
@Fylindfotberserk: No there's only one article on Jadeja surname. Sitush's version is good and it also retains that Jadejas are from Samma Dynasty. And the references provided by the IP guy recently in his edits also proves that they(Jadejas) had links with Samma Dynasty and Jamshed/Jamshid of Iran from whom the whole Samma Dynasty took the title Jam, including the Jadejas. So it does proves the point of the IP editor guy. And it's always better than claims of origin from mythology. The guy did gave all the references to support the claim. HinduKshatrana (talk) 15:26, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
@HinduKshatrana:Since it is only one article, as per this, it would requires sources (self-identification in the case of BLP) that proves that some Mr. XYZ Jadeja belongs to the Jadeja clan. But since a lot would be unsourced, you can put a line below the header mentioning soemthing like "This is a list of notable people bearing the surname Jadeja that may or may not belong to the caste of the same name". - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:37, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
Wait! I think there's some misunderstanding over here, @Fylindfotberserk:. I'm not talking about adding a person's name belonging to the surname. I'm talking about this addition to the Jadeja page. The IP editor added the origin of Jadeja clan with valid reasons and references as support and then some Sumit guy removed it. I checked the resources provided in this edit and they did supported the fact that this clan have claimed their descent from a Jamshid/Jamshed of Iran. Take a look. --HinduKshatrana (talk) 15:54, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
@HinduKshatrana: Well I was talking about the list that has been added. As for the descent, most of the sources are snippets. This one talks about descent from Jada. AAnd Jadejas being common in south-west Punjab and Sindh. This one talks about Jam saheb, but can't view the whole para. History Of The Delhi Sultanate (Set Of 2 Vols) is not viewable. IMO only the first one is usable. The rest of the things are same in the IP's edit except from the removal of mythic origin that was kept in Sitush's version. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:12, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
@Fylindfotberserk: A simple search got me this. Now, I don't know if Google's algorithm will show you the same results as it did to me, but even the first-most result page got me like 8 out of 10 books mentioning Jadeja's descendancy from Jamshed of Persia. Many books said he was an Emperor or a ruler of Iran. Looks like this guy picked few books from top results. --HinduKshatrana (talk) 16:27, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
@HinduKshatrana: Yeah, google algorithm is to blame. I can't see much though. Only one is showing something of value. This one from the article mentions Jam saheb which is also mention in here, however the latter one clearly mentions The Jadejas , princes of Cutch , claimed that they were the descendants of the great Emperor Jamshed of Iran. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:38, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
@Fylindfotberserk: Yes. And not just one or two books but many are saying that they are descendants of Jamshed/Jamshid from Iran/Persia. Few indicates he was an Emperor or some ruler. The Samma or Jadeja people got their title Jam from him. --HinduKshatrana (talk) 16:48, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
@HinduKshatrana: Yeah, go ahead then. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:03, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
@Fylindfotberserk: Okay, I've reverted to the IP's version. Please do keep this page in your watchlist. Thanks. --HinduKshatrana (talk) 17:13, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

SMS

A Misplaced Pages user by the name of "Alex Pinkerton" has moved many pages without discussing it in the talk page and I can't undo it. Namely, Bakarkhani to Bakorkhani, Dhakaiyas to Dhakaias, Dhakaiya Kutti to Dhakaia Kutti and Dhakaiya Urdu to Dhakaia Urdu. How do I stop him? UserNumber (talk) 19:28, 16 October 2020 (UTC)

@UserNumber: Give him a warning for disruptive editing. Page moving without consensus is kind of vandalism. You can't undo meaning? You can't move it back is it? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 06:57, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
I moved back one. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:17, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
Thank you friend. Will do so now. UserNumber (talk) 10:41, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
@UserNumber: You are welcome. That is a new user. Doing this kind of move probably has some motive behind it. Possibly an LTA trying to get to ECP or something. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:46, 17 October 2020 (UTC)

Persistent disruptive editing by BNJ Nilam

Hi I recently reported this user for edit warring and he was blocked for 24 hours. Its been a little after his block and his disruptive edits and reverts have started again. I suspect this time he's started to use a sockpuppet as I've detailed here. My question here is, how do I restart the edit war discussion on WP:ANEW since the discussion has already been archived. Prolix 💬 19:31, 17 October 2020 (UTC)

@Prolix: If they start with their disruptive edits immediately after (within one day) of their block you can report them at WP:AIV with a tag "Vandalism after recent (within 1 day) release of block" (available in Twinkle) for quick action. The newer block will be for a bigger timeframe.
As for the edit war, you have to start with a new WP:ANEW report, link the old report there and also mention that the new user is probably a sock (link this report). SPI's typically take time if the admins are taking on a first time sock. After the SPI and/or the 3RR gets the sock banned, next time on you can just revert them citing "Rv sock edits by User:BNJ Nilam". If that time the edits are potentially 3RR, you can report them to AIV for quick action citing those SPIs and ANEW investigations. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:22, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
Fylindfotberserk, thanks for the information. I think at this point it would be best to report the user to AIV and let the sock investigation take its course. Lots of disruptive edit warring these past few weeks, really annoying to deal with. Prolix 💬 07:53, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
@Prolix: Yeah, tell me about it . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:56, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
Fylindfotberserk, some over zealous editor has been edit warring on Thiruvananthapuram now. Should we take this to the talk page or report? Prolix 💬 15:02, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
@Prolix: Report them at ANI, also make note that a user using IP for reverts is sockpuppetry. Also ping Arjayay since he had also reverted the "Metropolis" edit. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:07, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Fylindfoot, did you mean to say "report them at AIV" rather than ANI? Bishonen | tålk 15:19, 18 October 2020 (UTC).
@Bishonen: I said ANI, since that user seems to be socking using both the user and the IPs as well as edit warring and POV pushing. I think the initial complaint may be registered at ANI. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:27, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
OK, I see. There were so many noticeboards mentioned above that I think I'm the one that got confused! Bishonen | tålk 15:38, 18 October 2020 (UTC).
Fylindfotberserk, done. I've tagged you as well. Prolix 💬 15:40, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
@Prolix: Saw that. Also added a diff, this removal. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:47, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
Fylindfotberserk, thanks. Should we revert his edits or wait for the ANI discussion to conclude? Prolix 💬 15:50, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
@Prolix: Hmmm.. let it conclude then. Since we have already reported them. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:54, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
Fylindfotberserk, agree. That would be best Prolix 💬 16:00, 18 October 2020 (UTC)

Ritlal Yadav

Hi hope u are fine. On the page of Ritlal Yadav who recently came out of the jail after 10 yrs as he is facing sentence in multiple crimes a user who had earlier been in conflict with me at Grand Democratic Secular Front...(not only with me but with 2 3 other users also) reverted whole of my edits. I am aware of BLP rules but I don't know how to write about criminals who are facing jail terms and not merely alleged in a crime. I have reverted it but want u to check minor edits which are required to undo BLP issue. We can't revert all on the charges of being defamatory as he did because if u find any source about the subject that only discuss about his crime history. So I don't know what is defamatory here.plz see Heba Aisha (talk) 05:47, 18 October 2020 (UTC)

@Heba Aisha: This version doesn't look bad. Seems properly sourced. I don't know what kind of "Gross BLP violations" were made. Perhaps you can bring them to the talk page and ask for what kind of changes need to be made since these are sourced. As for my own opinion, a bit of trimming, removal of puff words and trivia (if any) and a little elaboration on his political career seems necessary keeping WP:NPOV and WP:BALANCE in mind. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:44, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
That's my version....but he do not try to understand I talked to him on my talk page but no results. You are a senior editor so it is possible he will listen to you.Heba Aisha (talk) 10:18, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
@Heba Aisha: I haven't checked all the sources, but one source title "पति के कत्ल के आरोपी डॉन से है पत्नी का मुक़ाबला.." seems there was no conviction. So it is potentially libelous as per Misplaced Pages guidelines. In that case you should open a discussion as per WP:BRD, bring your versions sentence by sentence in the talk and ask the other user which of the infos need to be removed, modified or can be kept as it is. Blatant removal is not a great idea IMO. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:40, 18 October 2020 (UTC)

Hello Freind i again want to ask u how can i create a wikipedia page for Life ok Tv Serial May i come in madam Which aired between 2016-17 and a current serial known as Excuse me Madam.Kindly guide me on how to use templates for new Page and in how much time it get published. I dont know why both these pages were removed. Aristocratic 536 (talk) 05:51, 24 October 2020 (UTC)

@Aristocratic 536: May I Come In Madam was removed first because it was created by a banned user Shiwam Kumar Sriwastaw, second time it was a WP:G7 deletion by the author of the article. Excuse Me Madam was removed for WP:G12 copyright violations. If you wish to create them, you can start them at Special:Mypage/May I Come In Madam or ask for undeletion at WP:REFUND. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:09, 24 October 2020 (UTC)

this edit

Hi Fylindfotberserk, Any idea what the IP meant by his comments in this edit? It is not added in a generalized way as it clearly mentions Koknan belt. . Thanks LukeEmily (talk) 00:55, 25 October 2020 (UTC)

@LukeEmily: I don't understand but seems like this sock. They had problems with the mention of Saraswats being non-vegs and fish eaters as well as their ritual status in historic times in Maharashtra. In some articles they have used the word "pescatarian" specifically. See this and also this diff. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:43, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
@Luwanglinux: I've opened a discussion there in the talk page and called some other users. Note that historic terms and terms prevalent only among the ethnic groups are not written in the lead, only WP:COMMONNAME in ENglish and official names. Check Germans article, no mention of Deutschland in it, the name used by Germans locally. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:39, 25 October 2020 (UTC)

Edits on Khatri page

1- is there a problem if I quote Puri verbatim which says "The Khatris as an integral part of the old Kshatriya caste no doubt differ from neo-Kshatriyas, Rajputras or Rajputs."

After last edit "no doubt" was removed.

2 - Since we are mentioning the names of all the authors whose views have been cited in the article, let us mention David N. Lorenzen in the paragraph where it is said that most scholars dispute these facts. Otherwise it comes across more as a general view than an individual opinion. Would like to know your views Sayanha7 (talk) 14:44, 25 October 2020 (UTC)

@Sayanha7: You can put quotes on that sentence from Puri's and add the exact words. What are you trying to do with Lorenzen's source? Could you make it clear here the quotes you are going to write? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:57, 25 October 2020 (UTC)

"However, these claims are disputed by most of the scholars who consider castes in north India, like Khatri and Kayastha to be merchant castes who claim higher status to befit the educational and economic progress they made in the past."

I want to add "according to Lorenzen," in this paragraph, as have been done in all preceeding paragraphs while citing scholars and experts.

Sayanha7 (talk) 15:51, 25 October 2020 (UTC)

Otherwise it is appearing like a rather general view than an observation made by a certain Scholar. Sayanha7 (talk) 15:55, 25 October 2020 (UTC)

Please Help me

Hello @Fylindfotberserk: Firstly thanks for ur consistent support in last few days secondly i need ur Help again. As i created May I Come In Madam i creat several section of Seuquel series and reception so that the article cant be removed as it has enough good sources i add citation from Reliable Times of India but a user removed them commenting poor english i know it can be the case but Kindly dont remove entirely try to correct as it takes time to find good sources .Now i re add important sections kindly u took some time and Review those parts and correct small errors if there are any. Kindly do it quicky Its a requests. Thanks and Cheers. Aristocratic 536 (talk) 02:12, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

@Aristocratic 536: Did minor copy-edit to the last section. But the reception section has problems. The inline source at the end doesn't support the content, that is, it talks about whether Sandeep Anand is going to quit the show or not! No mention of ratings or reception. Find a source that writes about the reception. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:04, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for minor edits @Fylindfotberserk: Anyway you should read the citation property as it said one of Top running shows on life ok with a good Trp also Sequel citation mention about popularity of first season that's why second season aired.Anyway I am trying to find more good sources for reception section will hopefully get them in A day or Two. Cheers. Have a Good Day 😊😊 Aristocratic 536 (talk) 08:44, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

@Aristocratic 536: I saw that, but when you write "Mostly positive reviews by the Fans and Viewers" the wordings need to be explicitly sourced so that we do not do WP:OR. Also take note of MOS:PUFF in "become a mass favourite in the comedy genre". Instead a more neutral tone should be used for exp "The show was well received with a TRP of 0.9". Something like that. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:12, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

Ok No problem You can change that portion as u wish or as u think it should be. Also in how much time a new article is placed on Google search engine. Aristocratic 536 (talk) 03:50, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

@Aristocratic 536: I did the changes. A new article shows up in Google searches automatically after 90 days. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 05:49, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

Regarding a page

Hi mate, the user Debunkrational is Looking like sockpuppet of Joshi punekar. Joshi punekar also raised the same issue relating to Deshastha and Mahar caste characteristics and made a big issue out of it. What is your opinion on this - MRRaja001 (talk)

@MRRaja001: Filed an SPI. Looks like them. (edit*) Result = banned. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:01, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
Great! - MRRaja001 (talk) 01:37, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
@MRRaja001: I've already filed an SPI the day before yesterday here. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 06:29, 31 October 2020 (UTC)
Okay mate! - MRRaja001 (talk) 06:31, 31 October 2020 (UTC)

Courtesy notification

Hey, this is a courtesy notification that I've created a deletion discussion for Rohanpreet Singh. The sources don't appear to be in-depth to meet notability requirements and I think this is just WP:TOOSOON for an article. Thank you. Ravensfire (talk) 18:03, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

Hello. Did this edit change anything visually? Also, should the bot maintainer perhaps be notified about the violation of the MOS? 𝟙𝟤𝟯𝟺𝐪𝑤𝒆𝓇𝟷𝟮𝟥𝟜𝓺𝔴𝕖𝖗𝟰 (𝗍𝗮𝘭𝙠) 19:03, 31 October 2020 (UTC)

@1234qwer1234qwer4: No, it didn't, but violated the MOS:ORDER. Perhaps the bot maintainer needs to be informed. I've also seen it happening after AWB edits, perhaps that needs to be fixed too. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:09, 31 October 2020 (UTC)

vandalism at Kachhwaha

Hello, Fylindfotberserk. An ungesitered editor/IP has recently engaged in unconstructive behavior at Kachhwaha. Any advice on how to manage this situation if it persists? Can I request some level of protection of the page if vandalism continues and how and from who? Can I come to you for help? Thanks, Мастер Шторм (talk) 06:21, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

@Мастер Шторм: Hi, this is sockfarm User:Showbiz826. Recently being disruptive in a lot of Rajput-related articles, replacing content with their preferred version without discussion. You can see that they are partially blocked from many articles. I've requested PP here for Kachhwaha. You can file an SPI here or file one in WP:ANI if disruption persists. A full range block seems necessary. Alivardi knows about the sockfarm quite well. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:12, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

Thanks, Fylindfotberserk and Alivardi. I really value the guidance and help. Soft and warm bear hugs to both of you )) Thanks, Мастер Шторм (talk) 13:28, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

@Aristocratic 536:, Excuse Me Maadam can't be moved to Excuse Me Madam. Since Excuse Me Madam was deleted in the past by Jackmcbarn, you have to contact/discuss with him as per instructions in the link red banner.
As for the the "notability" banner at the top in May I Come In Madam, you are the one who added it when you recreated the article here. You are free to remove it. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:17, 1 November 2020 (UTC)

Bodo/Boro

Bodo/Boro is not group it a language, we will take top most figure or total language strength. Eulerfan1999 (talk) 11:42, 7 November 2020 (UTC)

@Eulerfan1999: Nope, The Bodo in teh census is teh language group which includes Kacharis, and others. Note that the census includes Rajbanshi, Chakma and Hajong among others in the Bengali group. And a lot more in the Hindi group, including Bhojpuri, Mewati, Garhwali, etc. If we keep the group numbers, then the language figures will be meaningless. This can't happen. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:02, 7 November 2020 (UTC)

Socking is...

Hey there, re: this, editing while logged-out isn't itself against the rules, because anyone can either make a mistake or be on holiday. But if it looks like someone is editing while logged out to avoid scrutiny of controversial or otherwise problematic edits, that would likely be considered socking. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 07:34, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

@Cyphoidbomb: I agree, but I've seen that behavior form that particular user before. Anyway, is edit warring using a user/IP combo is against the rules? Just asking. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:38, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
If it appears that someone is deliberately logging out to engage in disruption, yes. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:04, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

You are correct

Really you are correct. I will do InshaAllah — Preceding unsigned comment added by Weareme234 (talkcontribs) 10:37, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

Blind Madness and Fan based irrelevant Contribution for Vani Bhojan

Hi! User Eswnav making his hard and mad fan based edits over article Vani Bhojan. When we analyse his recent to old edits Eswnav keep editing more to that article continuously and regularly...So i edited it and filtered out the unwanted ,unimportant and irrelevant contents from the article Vani Bhojan.but user always make undone over my edits to that page continuosly even i warned him/her.We are not here to promote a brand or artist..What needed for the article is provided..User Esnav keep advertising and promoting the article as a brand

Kindly take action against this Riya Iyer S Menon (talk) 15:06, 10 November 2020 (UTC) C)

Hi! First of all I'm not a mad fan of Vani Bhojan. @Fylindfotberserk:, Can you see Vani Bhojan article and edit based on unwanted, unimportant and irrelevant contents from the article Vani Bhojan. Now I undone edit of Riya Iyer S Menon then you edit sir. My Humble request to you sir. Eswnav (talk) 03:57, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
@Riya Iyer S Menon and Eswnav: Hi, I believe the two of you should discuss it in the article talk page since Misplaced Pages is a collaborative project. As for the current version , it doesn't look bad. Though there is always room to make it better and tighter, but I don't think removing huge chunks of content is a better idea, especially since those are sourced. Instead, you guys should focus more on the wordings and tone. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:13, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
