Born July 19, 1764 in ], Mrongovius studied at the Cathedral school in ]. He matriculated in 1782 at ] as ''Mrongovius Christoph. Coelestin,. Hohens. Boruss.''. During his second semester he attended Kant's metaphysics lectures, followed by theology, logic, anthropology and moral philosophy, and physics. Mrongovius taught ] and ] at ''Collegium Fridericianum'' of the university. In 1798 he received the pastorate at St. Ann church in Danzig, where he also taught Polish language until 1817. Krzysztof Celestyn Mrongovius (Template:Lang-de, Template:Lang-pl) (1764 in Hohenstein, Prussia - 1855) - was a Prussian pastor, writer, philosopher, distinguished linguist, and translator. Mrongovius was known for defending the Polish heritage and Polish language in Danzig (Gdansk), in the Prussian Partition of Poland. He also pioneered the research of Kashubian culture. Mrongovius was a member of Society of Friends of Science in Warsaw, Towarzystwo Naukowe Krakowskie and was honoured with a medal of Historical-Literary Society in Paris. He is also important as the primary source of seven sets of notes on Immanuel Kant lectures in anthropology, metaphysics, theology, physics, logic, and two on moral philosophy. Mrongovius was the author of a number of books and one of the first Polish-German dictionaries. His extensive book collection is now kept in Polish Academy of Science library in Gdańsk.

Boruss.. During his second semester he attended Kant's metaphysics lectures, followed by theology, logic, anthropology and moral philosophy, and physics. Mrongovius taught Polish and Greek at Collegium Fridericianum of the university. In 1798 he received the pastorate at St. Ann church in Danzig, where he also taught Polish language until 1817. He died on June 3, 1855 in Danzig (Template:Lang-de).
