Hi - it has come to our notice that you have recently created a new stub type. As it clearly states at ], at the top of most stub categories, on the template page for new Wikiprojects and in many other places on Misplaced Pages, new stub types should be proposed prior to creation at ], in order to check whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies, and whether better use could be made of a WikiProject-specific talk page template.

Is there any verification problem with ] ?. --] (]) 09:03, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

I just posted this on ]. The note below that is an excerpt left on the talk page of ] ] I deal with from time to time, and as you can see, I've assured him that this string of nonsensical expermental edits will be fixed up. So the question is will it be by you, or me, who just happened to get all the email notices that this was going on. I'm really quite busy right now with mediations, edit wars, and hot heads and such, so I would really appreciate it if you go back to your contribs page (link below) and revert your experimental changes. As you can see, GeorgHH and I already fixed up two matters. The bottom two on the list, iirc. {{I2}}I left you a note there to talk about this, so if these have some justification, please read ] and drop an answer for me there or here on my talk. {{I}}I'll be quite interested in your answer. Failing that, I'm going to have to pick up these dirty socks, so please justify this, or do that yourself. {{I}}Also, please modify your user preferences to at least warn you when you are not leaving edit summaries. Not leaving those makes it hard for others to figure out what you have done with a quick peek, costing valuable time otherwise to evaluate the edit with diffs and such. That's a lot of time to ask for from a lot of strangers, so to speak, so please exercise that courtesy. {{I2}}I didn't fully explore what you were doing in ], but that page should be kept in an interwiki compatible state so that it is a direct byte for byte copy of the commons version, save for the disclaimer about that at it's heading. So revert those changes as well please. I haven't had the time to finish fully integrating the two yet.

:: NJGW needs to avoid speculating as to your motives - he needs to ] - that is, he needs to assume that you're here to help build an encyclopedia, not to push an agenda. It's not easy to make that assumption at the moment, though. You need to make sure that you ''are'' helping to build a good, neutral encyclopedia, rather than to push an agenda. You also need to realise that NJGW is well within his rights to examine your edits - in fact he's doing a job that needs doing: when an experienced editor comes across a less experienced editor who makes a lot of inappropriate edits, it's very useful to check them through and fix the mistakes.

::I has a look through the edits you made today and yesterday - a period of less than 36 hours - and I found '''thirty three''' edits that unquestionably you shouldn't have made:
:Have you heard of the term 'Reinventing the wheel'? Well, the fundamental category system was already defined and discussed to death in Meta, the commons, and here, and is already a common skelaton for all sister's projects. The commons and several others for administrative reasons, or for the mission of the sister project sometimes add or subtract things from that, but the basic system is in place already. The best way to get a sense of it's scope is to participate in our own ] and ] pages and navigate our heirarcy. The commons is pretty fussy about adding new categories, so I wouldn't recommend that without checking with me or {{Ut|David Kernow}}. Adding a category here that is there already is a bit easier, but it is more likely that the proper action would be to find the equivilent category here and nominate that for renaming in CFD using the various {{tlx|Cfr}} templates. {{I}}There are similar talk pages on all projects. Meta's categories are fairly skimpy, as are wikinews', and wiktionary, which is focused on word things like nouns, adjectives, verbs, etcetera. Wikispecies is oriented to the ultra-scientific, and etc., so defining what cats a project needs are and have been determined by the folks working the project. {{I2}}However you stumbled over the experiment of ], since you modified it, and had you poked around a bit more, say by following it's cats, and then the link to the equivilent cats here, you might have found the complimentary {{Tlx|Commonscat1Ra}}, among many others. One big task that needs done is to identify the subset of templates which are the minimum needed, and fix up the order in which they take arguements, with some options. I wrote those back when I new far less about templates, and they need an overhaul and to be streamlined. If you are good with templates, that would be something I can use help with. Large scale tagging of categories after that, could be undertaken including sorting work in applying the newly defined top-down category scheme for maps from the commons fully into place here. That was David's project, and we're really only about 30% along on it. I wrote those templates based on it in fact. Placing those sometimes includes making some adjustments in the two category trees, after say renaming (moves actually) of the commons templates to more professional names. The commonscatXXX versions need similar renaming, again with the idea of being consistent with suffixes and such. {{I2}}So that's the place to begin... after getting a commons account. <g> In the meantime, contact David, and ask him whether he can suggest some maps work here or on the commons. We've both been pretty busy since September, so things really have been on hold for a long while. How's that all sound? Oh, we'll be working up a project page to explain the scheme too. That needs done soon, as I've been nagging David about. Maybe he can let you start that. If you see his talk page on the commons, you should see me show up in June, iirc, and follow our conversations there between my talk page and his. That will give you a basic knowledge you can morph into a elementary project page draft, and we can all go from there. In the meantime, first make sure you fix those several contributions of yours, or that someone else has already done that. ttfn // <B>]</B><font color="green">]</font> 08:08, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

== Mac, I really liked some of your edits, sad to see you inactive for half a year now ==

I really liked some of your edits, such as list of solar manufacturers, I remember when that was gone I kind of felt under assault, felt loss of such valuable info. The field is very competitive, and having competitors listed on Misplaced Pages nixes millions of dollars of advertising, so those who have to spend those dollars feel it's unfair, and your list is gone fast. Oh well, such is the world we live in. Right now I'm coming from the absorption refrigerator page, and the explanation you put on there is awesome, dude! It may be quite a bit unencyclopedic in style, but I can easily grok it, and now I know exactly what makes absorption refrigerators tick. I like to write pieced out to every last detail type explanations too - the ] page hasn't been modified too much since I wrote it, sometimes I wish it was modified, especially the latter part, world market issues, because that really doesn't belong into an encyclopedia, but I don't know how to touch it, where the fine line is, and was hoping other people would make the cut. Deleting is easy. Writing new stuff is hard. However this is an encyclopedia, not a teaching page, even if an encyclopedia is there to teach and give understanding, there is a traditional encyclopedic style that neither you nor I can naturally adhere too. So next time you come here please stay out of trouble and don't fight the admins coming down on you over style, you and me and our wish to teach and explain in dumbed down lazy terms is outnumbered by pedants, and probably it's best that way too. By the way I do agree with some of their edits, and would have edited the same. You needed a lot of cleaning up work after you, especially in the latter part and your command of the language is a bit off (English as a second language?). But a lot of your edits were valuable and insightful. So here's kudos to you to make you feel better, and counter all this negative sockpuppet crap you get on your page. Sometimes all it takes is a few good words to make someone feel better, and you deserve it, at least for some of your edits. You started many important pages, such as PIC microcontroller in 2003, and you have a long history of superfast edits. Towards the end you ended up in more and more trouble. What I recommend is that you watch the food and beverage you consume, make sure it's not spiked with drugs that make you go crazy. Watch the air you breathe, keep your windows open even in winter. Watch yourself - sometimes you will feel that you're "under the influence" if you pay careful attention, like drunk people can tell that they are drunk, but sometimes your symptoms may be much more subtle. You can be in charge of your actions even when you're under the influence, by realizing that you are under the influence. Virtue is important even when you're drunk. Respect your body and mind, and rest, and sleep when you need to, even if other will chastise you for it. ] (]) 00:12, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

:Moved the below comment by NJGW from my ] to here ] (]) 01:12, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
:Mac is still around, using IPs instead of a named account. The main things that got him in trouble were copy/paste violations, unlikely POV redirects (sometimes to the very same page), and refusing to discuss anything. As for manufacturer info, it dances the line between providing useful encyclopedic information and spam. Too often there was a lot of prediction going on that could just as likely have been a way to drum up cash for some fraud as to give information to a reader (and no way to check which version was true). I believe in the spirit of Mac's work, which made me conflicted when butting heads with him. ] (]) 00:23, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

::I can tell you miss Mac too. Can't his name be reactivated for at least weeks at a time, to see how it works out? What ip's does he go under? I think we lose a lot in Misplaced Pages by blocking names that collect a person's identity and overall contribution under one hat, and disperse both the negative and positive contributions unto many hard to track ip's. How do you get these people to start using an id at all times? Once they get used to ip's, it might be hard to get them kick the habit and use names again. At least we can talk to him when he goes under a chosen name instead of an ip, and he did answer to some things on his talk page a few times, even if in a defensive, being cornered way. Being invited to forums or discussions is like being invited to different churches - it's not mandatory to show up, you're still your own person, with your own choice of what church to go to. Now that he goes under ip's, as so many recent edits happen under ip's in wikipedia overall, I think wikipedia is losing something very valuable. It's like there is a gang of righteous and pedantic admins powertripping over a lot of caring and obsessed and wikipedia addicts with mild mental issues but a lot of creating and contributing value, and the end result is a proliferation of ip sourced edits. How does that help anything? A lot of the admins contributions are cleanup type work anyway - it's like that's what they do, that's what they like to do, that's what they are used to doing, and to function they need the renegade, run-wild fountains of crap and not so crap to clean up after, or they will have nobody to pick at. Do you think Van Gogh would have been blocked from Misplaced Pages? How about Picasso? I know wikipedia is not for original content, but you still need this creative aspect to generate the initial output that gets molded and shaped by being picked at by many, then more generated by others, then picked at again by the pedants. Mac was good at generating initial stuff that needed to be picked at and molded or deleted, full of good ideas but very bad and unpedantic style, very rough and improper around the edges. It's like these two types of personalities need each other, like predator and prey, but you have a difficult situation when the predators exterminate all the prey, or more exactly, they drive them into a "ip only" identity world, and then the same crap goes on anyway, as before, the only difference being the ip only identities. I know this generalization is an exaggeration to illustrate a point, and yes, I do understand very well that nobody likes wasting their own precious time cleaning up after others, but there is that aspect to it sometimes too, that personality type issue, needing someone to pick at. Mac did have quite a few valuable contributions, and deleting/reverting things is easy. There are abusers who add nothing valuable whatsoever ever. I can't stand those people either. I think these types of blocks were meant for them, and people like Mac need to be let out of prison every once in a while, even if he never fully gets rehabilitated and well behaved. ] (]) 01:12, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

::I don't think he'll join discussions, he's too free spirited stubborn type for that, he'd rather go under ip's. Break him and you lose him. And I think indefinite is a very long time. How about 1 year at a time? At least tell him a time his id will be reactivated in Nov 2009, so in his own mind he can look forward to that, and in the meantime do his ip only contributions. 2003 feb to 2008 nov under one ID, that's a lot to lose. ] (]) 01:12, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

:::I know that {{user|147.84.130.2}} was one of them (but it's now inactive), and I think {{user|147.84.132.44}} is another. I'm pretty sure he was using another range as well, but I can't find it off hand.

:::Regarding admins liking to clean things up... that's total BS. There are admins because there have to be trusted neutral people who can enforce consensus on a vocal minority (or vandals), but things would be much more pleasant and productive, and the content higher quality if this wasn't needed. The admins know this, and the vast majority I'm sure would rather spend their time adding new and interesting information or helping other users do the same, instead of cleaning up after bad edits (actually this applies to everybody, as the vandal fighting and poor edit-correcting is done by all of us, not just admins).

:::Mac's copy/paste violations put the project at legal risk and his redirects caused too much confusion. You can see above that the blocking admin has gone out of his way to try to bring Mac back into the fold. As long as Mac only uses IPs, he can't create the confusing redirects, and as an IP people check his edits more closely and are more likely to spot major policy violations. ] (]) 01:37, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

:::: Well put. I see that 147.84.132.44 has a March 26 as the most recent edit, so yay, he is around. Also the ip address network block 147.84.128.0 - 147.84.255.255 is registered in the ], Spain. ] (]) 02:42, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.3gpp.org/ftp/Specs/archive/02_series/02.07/0207-710.zip. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Misplaced Pages takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators '''will be ]'''.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Misplaced Pages to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you ''must'' verify that externally by one of the processes explained at ]. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see ]. You might want to look at ] for more details, or ask a question ].

The radio is here : http://www.cadenaser.com/emisoras/murcia/ Radio Murcia (in Spanish). You can ask to the radio network (cadenaser.com ) how to tune into it using Internet (I don´t do it because I heard it on the air and searching in the website I have obtained no answer; in any case, if I can get some information, I can post it on Monday). It is on Monday from 17:00 to 18:00 UTC time. On the other hand, I am going to include some information about the motorcycle conversion in the electric vehicle conversion and electric motorcycle articles. Thank you a lot, this is the best way for an affordable electric highway capable motorcycle as soon as possible. Do you know where and how to acquire a glider (motorcycle) to add the electric motor and batteries ?. --Mac (talk) 09:45, 18 October 2008 (UTC).
Some people acquire motorcycles where the engine is worn out, or has been over-revved and damaged. One person has started an electric motorcycle company where he is buying the everything from the manufacturer except the motor and gas tank, then making the conversion.
http://www.enertiabike.com/ and I believe there are others now. --Skyemoor (talk) 13:18, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Interesting information that I have added to the article section in electric motorcycles. --Mac (talk) 13:30, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

2008 Paris Motor Show

Your recent addition to the 2008 Paris Motor Show, "Electric vehicles", was copied from http://apps1.eere.energy.gov/news/news_detail.cfm/news_id=12040. While the text on that page is not copyrighted, it's not a good idea to copy text straight from other pages, because articles written for a magazine, blog, newspaper, etc. may not be appropriate for an encyclopedia (i.e. neutral, sticking to facts, and no idioms, metaphors, or colloquialisms). --Vossanova 13:22, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

I have added in the beginning this link in the reference section. --Mac (talk) 13:25, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Misplaced Pages. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Plastic Logic do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Misplaced Pages is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Misplaced Pages uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. --HughCharlesParker (talk - contribs) 11:09, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Copyright violations again

Please do not add copyrighted material to Misplaced Pages without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Initiative for an International Renewable Energy Agency. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Misplaced Pages takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

This is about an older article, but I just had to remove more than half the article because you copy/pasted it from the sources. You know better than that, and your violations of copyright law show that you are more interested in your agenda than in the legal security of Misplaced Pages. Please be more helpful to this project by not endagering it legally with copyright violations. NJGW (talk) 07:58, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

Mac, this is serious. You cannot just copy/paste from other websites. NJGW (talk) 08:29, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
Cannot one copy and paste international treaties?. --Mac (talk) 08:44, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
First, I don't think what you were copy/pasting was an international treaty. Second, read wp:copyvio. You can only copy/paste things with a GFDL license or if it is specifically in the public domain, but even then you need to cite everything (you can't just copy/paste it with no attribution). For someone who has been warned about this very issue in the past, and even spent the past hour editing pages on intellectual property, I'm "surprised" you don't know this. NJGW (talk) 08:49, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
And final: this was an international treaty, included in the article webpage and clearly referenced in the same text. On the other hand, the IRENA is not only a project, it is something that is going to success (today there is a meeting in Madrid). --Mac (talk) 08:55, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

All-Fossil Fuel Internal Combustion Engine Vehicle

Is there any verification problem with All-Fossil Fuel Internal Combustion Engine Vehicle ?. --Mac (talk) 09:03, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes, you made the phrase up yourself (or heard some person say it one day). A google search for "All-Fossil Fuel Internal Combustion Engine Vehicle" gets nothing. NJGW (talk) 09:06, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
You have changed the talk to this page, but because you did the revertions, I have included and follow the thread there. In the reference that I included in http://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Hybrid_electric_vehicle&oldid=246903490 (http://euobserver.com/882/26594), you can read fossil-fuel-based vehicles (22,500 Google results). What is the gasoline based vehicle?. Does it use an internal combustion engine ?. fossil-fuel-based internal combustion engine vehicle produces 4.180 results: http://hothardware.com/News/HighSpeed-Electric-Car-Electric-Lightning-GT/ traditional fossil-fuel-based, internal combustion engines, http://thegiftsoffirstfruits.org/HydrogenGenerator.aspx and so on and so on... Is it no enough?. You missed the NPOV. --Mac (talk) 10:10, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
You asked about the term AFFICEV which you created. It is a wp:neologism (read that policy please), and does not create any helpful content on Misplaced Pages. NJGW (talk) 18:14, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

Re: the comment you left at Hughcharlesparker

(moving comment to here so we can keep our conversations together) - (in response to User talk:Hughcharlesparker#Mac)

Mac, I've tried communicating with you so many times over the past 10 months it's annoying. You never respond to comments, and just keep doing what ever you want to do. Please comment on the issues raised above rather than if the method of conversation hurts your feelings. NJGW (talk) 09:01, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

This is not true. I have not be out for 10 months. What do what ever want is you, missing the NPOV, as said above. --Mac (talk) 10:25, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
Hi Mac. Since there are three people involved and the conversation's about you, I thought I'd better reply here, rather than on my talk page.
NJGW needs to avoid speculating as to your motives - he needs to assume good faith - that is, he needs to assume that you're here to help build an encyclopedia, not to push an agenda. It's not easy to make that assumption at the moment, though. You need to make sure that you are helping to build a good, neutral encyclopedia, rather than to push an agenda. You also need to realise that NJGW is well within his rights to examine your edits - in fact he's doing a job that needs doing: when an experienced editor comes across a less experienced editor who makes a lot of inappropriate edits, it's very useful to check them through and fix the mistakes.
I has a look through the edits you made today and yesterday - a period of less than 36 hours - and I found thirty three edits that unquestionably you shouldn't have made:
To set all that lot right is going to take a lot of time. Although undoubtedly you do make a lot of worthwhile edits, people are having to spend a lot of time clearing up after you - time which they could otherwise spend making constructive edits of their own. Taking that into account, I have to say I'm not sure whether your net contribution is positive at the moment - your editing is bordering on the disruptive.
Before you add any more redirects, you need to carefully read the WP:Redirect guideline carefully, and before you add any more links to external websites, you need to read the WP:External links guideline carefully. You could also do with reading WP:Spam.
It's often worth asking for another person's perspective before making edits. If you're ever in a dispute with someone, or you're not sure why lots of your edits are being reverted, or whatever, I'm more than willing to take a look, just drop a note on my talk page. Alternatively, you might find WP:Editor assistance useful. --HughCharlesParker (talk - contribs) 14:13, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
(the following lists are not exhaustive) Going through your talk page history, I see that I have pointed out to you about redirects many times and about copyright material and about ELs . Other people have also talked to you about redirects (someone even started an ANI about you for it ), copyright violations , for your ELs/spam , and for vandalism (even been called a "blatant vandal" ). Don't you think it's time you've listened to all these people? NJGW (talk) 18:16, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism to your userpage

Hi again Mac.

An anonymous editor vandalised your talk page earlier today. The same vandal also messed with my talk page. I'll keep your talk page on my watchlist in case they try it again. --HughCharlesParker (talk - contribs) 20:32, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Categories

Please stop adding incorrect categories to articles. Categories such as "Lithium ion batteries" should only be added to articles about batteries, not their manufacturers. Categories such as "Electric vehicles" should only be added to articles about vehicles, not their manufacturers or batteries or anything else. NJGW (talk) 14:44, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

After NJGW left you this message, you added Plastic Logic to Category:Organic electronics. This is exactly what NJGW was talking about before - he's told you something you needed to know about how categories work in wikipedia, and without even responding to his message, you've carried on adding inappropriate categories. That leaves aside the fact that, as NJGW has pointed out above, you've been told this many times. Stop. Someone has to clean up after you.
You clearly have an agenda to make sure Misplaced Pages has good coverage of energy-related topics - that's great, Misplaced Pages is better off for the expanded coverage, and NJGW and I both share that aim. You would be much better able to achieve that goal if you would just take a few minutes to read the pages of guidance that you've been directed to, and engage in conversation with those who are trying to help you. I'll provide the links again, so you don't have to search:
Finally, don't forget WP:Editor assistance are waiting to answer your questions and advise you on how best to proceed. --HughCharlesParker (talk - contribs) 11:35, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

External links are not for spam

This edit introduces a link to a page with no content and is not directly relevant to the article. I have reverted it. Do not link to conferences just because you want people to go to them, as that is spam. NJGW (talk)

Redirects are for search terms, not for confusing links

This redirect, which you created so that this link you created wasn't red, is not a good move. It does not lead to a useful article, and as you have been told many times in the past, the better move would be to create a stub instead of a confusing redirect. NJGW (talk) 07:50, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Creating two redirects just so you can use them in a see also section is a misuse of redirects. You have been told this many times in the past, and it only clutters up and makes less useful the articles you are trying to help. NJGW (talk) 22:06, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
The same goes for the irritating and worse-than-useless redirects on Large Blade Research and Test Facility and National Wind Technology Center. The only place that linked to them (until I just now removed the links, to avoid deceiving the next reader) was Wind power in the United States#Wind power industry and government support, in the paragraphs that already mention and link to National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the target of the redirects, and an article which contains zero information about the subjects of the redirects. When Misplaced Pages has no information about a subject, we want any links to it to be red links, to signal to readers that no article on the subject exists. This way, nobody will waste time clicking on the link to get more information about the subject unless they want to start a real article about it. Please do not add redirects to Misplaced Pages solely to subvert the important function of red links. Red links are not a bug on Misplaced Pages, they are a feature. The Misplaced Pages user community uses red links to remind each other of articles that need creating, and to remind the majority of Misplaced Pages users (who only read articles and do not edit) to avoid wasting their time following a uselessly uninformative link. --Teratornis (talk) 06:40, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Copying copyright material is harmful to the project

This edit copies sentences from news articles. That is not allowed, and you know this. The edit has been reverted. NJGW (talk) 14:51, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Personal attacks are not allowed

This statement is a personal attack because it refers to an editor directly rather than their actions. Please refactor or remove the statement. NJGW (talk) 14:54, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Please do not add copyrighted material to Misplaced Pages without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Thin film. The sentence was copy/pasted from a blog. NJGW (talk) 14:28, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Microbattery

A tag has been placed on Microbattery, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Misplaced Pages:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. NJGW (talk) 22:07, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

You're being discussed at WP:ANI

Hello, Mac. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The discussion is about the topic WP:ANI#Tired of cleaning up after Mac. Thank you. EdJohnston (talk) 18:01, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

From the tone of the discussion in the ANI thread, it seems you may be blocked if you are unwilling to discuss your edits. I don't personally agree that all your edits mentioned in that thread are bad. But it seems it would be to your advantage to comment in the ANI thread, since that (at least) would take away the objection that you never talk. EdJohnston (talk) 16:58, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
I've been following this discussion, but the above links don't take me to the discussion of Mac anymore. Has he been removed from Misplaced Pages? --CliffC (talk) 17:27, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
No, the discussion was archived because no one posted for 24 hours. Based on the issue below, I've got half a mind to restart it, but I'm tired of digging through his 100's of edits each day.
EdJohnston, not all of Macs edits are bad, but a lot are. Mac needs to be made aware of the difference. NJGW (talk) 17:37, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Stampede toward hybrids

A tag has been placed on Stampede toward hybrids, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

Notability of Andy Karsner

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Andy Karsner, by another Misplaced Pages user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Andy Karsner seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Andy Karsner, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Reorganized categories

Hi, I reorganized some categories you created. I moved the contents of Category:Building integrated photovoltaics to Category:Building-integrated photovoltaics, and reduced the list of parent categories, removing some redundant entries. Category:Transparent photovoltaics didn't seem viable right now; contents moved to Category:Photovoltaics. Category:Optic transparency is not well named, and doesn't seem like a good idea. The articles that were in that category are linked into the optics categories in other more functional ways.--Srleffler (talk) 23:01, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Audtty

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Audtty, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Non-notable software.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of List of solar cell manufacturers

Solectria Sunrise article - spam

Mac, I removed the Azure Dynamics category that you added, mainly because it was cut-and-pasted from a press release of theirs and as such probably shouldn't be on wikipedia. Also isn't relevant to the Sunrise article. Please feel free to create a new article for Azure and link to it if you think it's valid. Evs2 (talk) 15:38, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Mac, I really liked some of your edits, sad to see you inactive for half a year now

I like to write pieced out to every last detail type explanations too - the pidgeon process page hasn't been modified too much since I wrote it, sometimes I wish it was modified, especially the latter part, world market issues, because that really doesn't belong into an encyclopedia, but I don't know how to touch it, where the fine line is, and was hoping other people would make the cut. Sillybilly (talk) 00:12, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Moved the below comment by NJGW from my talkpage to here Sillybilly (talk) 01:12, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Mac is still around, using IPs instead of a named account. NJGW (talk) 00:23, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
I can tell you miss Mac too. Sillybilly (talk) 01:12, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
The block log says:
17:51, 10 November 2008 EdJohnston (talk | contribs) blocked Mac (talk | contribs) (account creation blocked) with an expiry time of indefinite ‎ (Disruptive editing: This is a conditional indef block. Will be lifted immediately if you join discussions. See your Talk)
I don't think he'll join discussions, he's too free spirited stubborn type for that, he'd rather go under ip's. Sillybilly (talk) 01:12, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
I know that 147.84.130.2 (talk · contribs) was one of them (but it's now inactive), and I think 147.84.132.44 (talk · contribs) is another. I'm pretty sure he was using another range as well, but I can't find it off hand.
Regarding admins liking to clean things up... that's total BS.
Mac's copy/paste violations put the project at legal risk and his redirects caused too much confusion. You can see above that the blocking admin has gone out of his way to try to bring Mac back into the fold. As long as Mac only uses IPs, he can't create the confusing redirects, and as an IP people check his edits more closely and are more likely to spot major policy violations. NJGW (talk) 01:37, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Well put. I see that 147.84.132.44 has a March 26 as the most recent edit, so yay, he is around. Also the ip address network block 147.84.128.0 - 147.84.255.255 is registered in the region of Murcia, Spain. Sillybilly (talk) 02:42, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Yingli

A tag has been placed on Yingli, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Misplaced Pages:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Speedy deletion nomination of Internet Dating Conference

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Internet Dating Conference, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Misplaced Pages:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. NellieBly (talk) 23:01, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of GSM 02.07

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on GSM 02.07 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Misplaced Pages takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Misplaced Pages to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Misplaced Pages:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Misplaced Pages:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay.
