Perhaps it’ll be nice to do so for such a prominent figure, especially when people are accusing her of being silent on the Israel-Hamas 2023 war (not true) ] (]) 09:53, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
Is this something that's specific to her, or do all members of the ] tribe do this because being referred to simply as "Yousafzai" (as for example the current POTUS is referred to simply as "Biden") would be insufficient when there are so many of them? I know substantially more about ]s than ]s, but members of the ] (at least pre-modern ones who lived in a period when family names were not common in Japan) are rarely referred to as "Fujiwara" but rather as, say, "]", so I suspect this may be a similar situation. She's probably the most famous Yusufzai in western mass media right now, which, if my assumption is correct, would still create a false impression that conventions applied to members of her tribe in general rather apply specifically to her; ] was the most famous Iraqi in western media in the 1990s, and western media knew to refer to him "mononymously" as "Saddam" rather than "Hussein", but we don't note that in our article on him. But I'm just guessing here -- do we actually know? ] (<small>]]</small>) 09:51, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
